Chapter 30: Mission- Ilos

05:52 Hours, March 13th, 2560
SSV Normandy
Terminus System, Refuge Cluster

After a few hours of traveling in space, and passing through the Mu Relay, The Normandy finally made it to Ilos. But it was already fortified with Geth forces.

Saren was already here.

"Uh... Chief? We've got some company." Joker reported, looking out of the window.

Everyone else looked out, seeing the Geth ships in the planet's orbit.

"Have their sensors picked us up?" Liara asked.

Joker shakes his head. "Stealth systems are engaged. Unless we get close enough for a visual, they won't have any idea we're here."

Pressly then walks up to give his report. "Picking up some strange readings from the planet's surface."

"Take us in, Joker. Lock in those coordinates." Chief ordered.

"Negative on that, Chief. The nearest landing zone's two klicks away." Pressly replied.

"We'll never make it on foot. Get us somewhere close." Ashley said, knowing that they need to get Saren as soon as possible.

"There is nowhere closer! I've looked!"

"How about dropping us off in the Mako?" Joe asked, trying to figure out a way to solve the problem.

Pressly shook his head at this. "You need at least a hundred meters of open terrain to pull off a drop like that. The most I can find near Saren is Twenty."

Kaiden couldn't believe those numbers. "Twenty meters? No way we can make that drop in there."

"We have to try. This could be our only chance to catch Saren." Garrus replied.

The group argued a bit, knowing it was dangerous the landing zone was too steep.

Suddenly, Joker spoke up. "I can do it."

Chief gave a stern look under his helmet. "Joker?"

"I can do it."

Chief nodded, trusting his pilot. He then looks at his Crew. "Gear up and head down to Mako." He then looks back at Joker. "Drop us right on top of him."

The pilot nodded. The team headed down the Garage, grabbing their gear, and hopped in the Mako, ready to land on the surface and take Saren down.

Few minutes later...

Joker managed to get close enough to Saren's location, and launch the Mako from the ship's garage.

The Vehicle jumped out and began to make its descent to Saren's location. Chief spotted the ex-Spectre going inside the bunker, and tried to ram him with the Mako.

Sadly, it was too late. He closed the giant door, blocking their path to follow.

They then exit out of the vehicle, took out the remaining Geth that stayed behind to protect the door, and see what they can do to unlock it.

"Damn, he locked us out..." Joe replied.

"We have to get inside this bunker before Saren finds the Conduit." Tali examined. "There's no way we're getting past that door with brute force."
