As they were near their destination for the next dossier, Chief then thought to do a quick crew check. Seeing how people are joining quickly, it might be good to check on people just to make sure everything is going alright and everything is squared away for personal issues.

He then arrives at the ship's lab, as he sees Mordin Solus doing his research. Most likely on how to counteract the Collectors' paralyzing seeker swarms. Chief figures he'll do a quick check without disturbing his work.

"Spartan. How can I help?" Mordin asked, hearing the SPARTAN-II coming in the room.

"Just checking in with everyone. And seeing how your work is going to counteract the seeker swarms."

"All is well. Plague on Tatooine dealt with. Plenty of time to analyze Collector intelligence. Near to finding counter measures for future missions." He stated, as he worked very diligently since coming aboard. "Impressive laboratory setup. Missed working for operations with a budget. A.I. in particular is very  helpful."

"Good to hear. If there's anything you need, let me know. We need everything we can to stop the Collectors."

"Of course. I'll call if anything arise. Still need to study. So much data. Here if you need me."

Chief nodded at him, as he left the room to let the Salarian scientists continue his work.

He then walks into the armory, as he sees Jacob doing his tasks before the next dossier. The soldier then turns around from his station to see the Spartan entering the room.

"Master Chief. Can I help you with something?"

"Just doing a quick crew check. Making sure everyone is doing alright at the moment and if there's anything I should be aware if it's getting in the way of the mission." Chief stated to the soldier.

"Sounds good. Have to say, you run this ship tight, and we're getting things done. We keep on track and maybe we'll figure this out. I hope so. I'm not looking forward if all goes-to-hell." Jacob said with a smile. "Is there something specific you want to know?"

"This is off the record and me just knowing everyone, since we'll be working with each other for future missions."

"Informal, huh?" He then thought of everything to explain on top of his head. "Everything's in my file. Ex-Alliance, part of a military family, the basics of an everyday soldier. My father was an officer during the start of the Covenant war, but was declared missing in action. I didn't know him much, but I respected his dedication on fighting for Humanity. I joined the Alliance a few years ago when I turned twenty three, to honor his duty as a soldier. I was even part of a team in ONI. The Corsairs. Really good friends and soldiers."

"I see. But how come you left? You are aware of how shady Cerberus is."

"Of course, not a minute goes by for knowing how capable they are. But nothing much changed after the attack of the Citadel, or even when you became a Spectre and Anderson became a Counselor. The political bullshit, refusing to check anything even after the Collectors attacked a human colony. But when I heard Cerberus was bringing you back to help solve this issue, me and a few others immediately joined in to at least make a difference."
