3rd Person POV

"Why do I do this to myself." Y/n mumbled while she moved a few speakers with her magic listening to music on her headphones, passing by a gloomy Ruby who was talking with Weiss. "I need you to pick a table cloth." Weiss said pushing two almost identical table cloths towards Ruby. "Aren't they both the same?" A confused Ruby asked and Weiss scoffs. "I don't even know why I asked." Weiss scoffed before walking away as Yang walked over to her sister placing a big ass speaker on the floor.

"So have you picked out a dress yet?" Yang asked while Y/n walked behind her mumbling the lyrics to the song that she was listening to. "What's the point? Who cares about the dance if Blake isn't going?" Ruby said gloomy. "Oh, don't worry. She's going." Yang reassured her sister. "Weiss! I thought we agreed no doilies!" Yang yelled at the heiress. "If I don't get doilies you don't get fog machines." Weiss yelled back as the door opened. "Your dance is gonna have fog machines?" Neptune asked.

"We were thinking about it." Weiss said turning to face Neptune. "That's pretty cool." He replied. "So you ladies ready to dress up?" Sun asked doing finger guns at the girls. "Pfft, yeah right." Ruby said looking off to the side. "Laugh all you want. I'll be turning heads tomorrow night." Yang smugly says causing Y/n to quietly scoff. "You say that as if you don't already turn mine all of the time." Y/n mumbles. "What was that Y/n?" Yang asked turning to the girl making her face turn instantly red. "U-uh n-nothing you heard nothing at all! Hehehe..." She stuttered, face still red immediately putting her headphones on.

"Anyway, what are you two wearing?" Weiss asked the two boys who just gesture to what they were currently wearing. "Uh, this." Sun said while Neptune stepped in front of him. "Ignore him, for he knows not what he says." Neptune said. "Hey, I may have moved to Mistral but I grew in Vacuo. It's not exactly a shirt and tie kind of place." Sun said moving in front of Neptune. "Yeah, we can tell." Y/n said putting her headphones around her neck while walking towards the group. "So, uh...what does Blake think of all of this? She still being all ya know. Blake-y?" Sun asked.

"I mean when I asked her to come with me to the dance she said "I'll think about it" so that's some progress right?" Y/n shrugged. "Wait you what?!" Sun questioned placing his hands on the girl's shoulders and shook her. "Can we please talk about this later?" Y/n said looking at Sun who rolls his eyes and walks back next to Neptune. "Even if you asked her out what if she doesn't come? And I still can't think of a way to change her mind." Ruby sighs. "Guys trust me Blake will be at the dance tomorrow.  And with the help of Y/n, she definitely will." Yang said grabbing Y/n's collar and dragging her off to the library.

~~

"A laser pointer? Really Yang?" Y/n crossed her arms looking at Yang who was holding up a laser pointer. "It's either this or tuna, do you have any other ideas?" Yang raised at eyebrow at Y/n who sighs. "Laser pointer it is." She said before letting Yang do her thing. Blake sat in one of the tables at the library staring at the computer screen when there was a red light that appeared on the screen. Blake's eye follow it moving on the screen before onto her hand before going away she looked behind her trying to see who did it seeing no one she turns back to the screen.

The the red light comes back on her hand. It disappears again before appearing back on the screen, Blake groans in annoyance looking at the screen, she stands up from her seat and follows the red dot arriving right in front of Yang with Y/n behind her. "Hellooo!" Yang said in a sing-song voice. "I'm so sorry." Y/n mouths to Blake. "What are you-?!" Blake was cut off by Yang grabbing her wrist. "We need to talk." Yang said before dragging the two to a random classroom

~~

"If you two are going to tell me to stop, you may as well save your breath." Blake said pacing back and fourth. "We don't want you to stop, We want you to slow down." Y/n crossed her arms leaning on the wall. "We don't have the luxury to slow down." Blake said stopping before continuing to pace around. "It's not a luxury, it's a necessity." Yang said from that table she was sitting on. "The necessity is stopping Torchwick." Blake glared at the blonde.

"And we're going to. But first, you have to sit down and listen to what I have to say." Yang said patting the table she sat on. "Fine." Blake said sitting down.

"Ruby and I grew up in a patch, an island just off the coast of vale our parents were huntsman our dad taught at signal and our mom would take missions around the kingdom, her name was Summer Rose and she was like super mom, baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters, and then one day she left for a mission and never came back. It was tough, Ruby was really torn up but...I think she was still too young to get what was going on ya know? And my dad just kinda, shut down, it wasn't long before I learned why, Summer wasn't the first love he lost, she was the second, the first was my mom, he wouldn't tell me everything but I learned that the two of them were on a team together with Summer and Qrow and she'd left me with him just after she had me no one had seen her since." Yang says and Blake perks up at the mention of Yang's mom while Y/n just keeps quiet.

"Why did she leave you?" Asked Blake and Yang sighs. "That question...why? I didn't know the answer but I was determined to find out, it was all I thought about, I would ask anybody I could what they'd know about her...then, one day I found something, what I thought was a clue that could lead me to answers or maybe even my mother, I waited till dad left the house and put Ruby in a wagon and head out, I must've walked for hours...I had cuts and bruises was totally exhausted but I wasn't gonna let anything stop me when we finally got there I could barely stand but I didn't care I had made it, and then I saw them those burning red eyes there we were a toddler asleep in a back of a wagon and a stupid girl too stupid girl to even cry for help, we might as well been served on a silver plater, but as luck would have it our uncle showed up just in time...my stubbornness should've gotten us killed that night." Yang said looking down after while Y/n and Blake looked at her.

"Yang. I'm sorry that happened to you...and I understand what you're trying to tell me but this different! I'm not a child, and this isn't just a search for answers, I can't just-!" Blake tries to tell Yang but was cut off. "I TOLD you, I'm not telling you to stop. I'm not telling you to stop. I haven't. To this day I still want to know what happened to my mother and why she left me. But I will never let that search control me. We're going to fine the answers we're looking for Blake. But if we destroy ourselves in the process then what good are we?" Yang said making Blake a bit agitated. "You don't understand! I'm the only one who can do this!" Blake yelled. "No, you don't understand!" Yang yelled back making Y/n who decided to keep her mouth shut jump. "If Roman Torchwick walked through that door, what would you do?!" Yang continued, eyes red.

"I'd fight him!." Blake replied with Y/n contemplated whether or not she should step in or not. "You'd lose!" Yang pushed Blake to the table. "I can stop him!" Blake pushed the blonde back. "You can't even stop me!" Yang pushed Blake again before the two of them sat in silence while Y/n looked at the scene wide eyed. Then Yang goes it to hug Blake. "We're not asking you to stop Blake, just get some rest okay?" Y/n said finally speaking up going to leave the classroom. "And if you feel like going tomorrow I'll make sure to save you and Yang a dance." Y/n said looking looking back at the two winking at them.
