3rd Person POV

"I thought trails led somewhere..." Yang commented, referring to Maria's statement from earlier. "Do you have nothing better to do than to harass a defenseless old lady?" Maria replied as Y/n held in a laugh making Yang glare at her. "Everyone quiet, do you hear that." Everyone halts their walking as they hear the sound of creaking metal, they resume their walking looking for the source of the sound and they locate an abandoned house. "Well at least one good thing happened today." Blake comments looking up at the sign. "It looks abandoned." Weiss looked at the surrounding area, 

"It's still better that this." Ruby says. "Come on, I think we could all use some rest." Qrow opened the gate wider letting everyone pass through. "I don't get it, the empty towns I've passed through were all damaged of unfinished but this place looks...fine." The group was now outside of the massive house's door as the snow storm started to get worse. "Maybe everyone left in a hurry. Before things took a turn?" Weiss said. 

"Stay on guard." Qrow said before he kicked the door open as everyone followed him with their weapons drawn. "Close the door already it's cold enough here as it is." Maria walked in. "I saw a chimney from the outside maybe we could get a fire going?" Blake asked as Y/n helped her block the door with a table. "I guess I'll go deal with that." Y/n sighed snapping her fingers creating a small fire on her fingers as a light source before she went off to go find the fireplace. "I'll go look for some blankets." Yang go with her." Qrow orders Yang making the girl follow Weiss.

"What do you think?" Blake walks up and standing beside Ruby who was looking at a picture. "Something doesn't feel right." Ruby comments. "Let's look for some-" Blake was cut off by a loud scream coming from upstairs. "Weiss!" Ruby yells as both her and Blake rush to where Weiss was. 

Weiss flinches as Blake places a blanket at her shoulders, she was still in shock at the dead bodies she saw upstairs. Before Qrow walks in the room they were in dusting snow off of him. "It's the same in every house." He says. "What?" "Bodies. Every bed in every home. It's like the whole estate went to sleep and never woke up." Qrow took a seat next to Weiss. "The we're not staying here, right?" Weiss turned to the older man.

"We don't have a choice. Storm outside's only getting worse. We'd freeze to death before we made it anywhere." Qrow rubbed his hands together before Maria stood up and walked towards the book shelves. "Well. Might as well get comfortable." She said taking a book. "Yeah fat chance." Yang crossed her arms. "Okay then, let's do something if this place wasn't abandoned it might have supplies we could still use." Ruby says. "Yeah maybe even a car." Oscar walked next to her. "I'll do another sweep of the grounds. No one else goes anywhere alone." Qrow walked away as Blake stood up. "Yang and I can search the other buildings for vehicles."

"Fine, whatever gets me out of his house." Yang stood up, Y/n was quick to notice that she felt off as the girl walked away with Blake following her. "Weird." She mumbles. "What's wrong?" Maria says taking notice of Y/n worried face as Weiss and Ruby walked out of the room. "Yang's a bit off, she usually isn't this cold." She mumbles taking a seat next to Maria. "This place is creeping me out and that's coming from me, a literal demon." She chuckles

Maria looks at her with a question look. "Ah, you're Lucifer's daughter aren't you? I thought you look familiar." She chuckles as Y/n's eyes widen slightly. "You knew my mom?" She asked and Maria nods. "Lucifer's mother and I used to be good friends, I was even there for a few of your mother's birthdays. Anyway, let's talk about that another time. How about I'll find us a story to read before to bed?"

"What do you think happened here?" Yang asked as the both of them enter the warehouse. "There's that well in the square, maybe water contamination?" Blake tells her. "Yeah maybe."  Yang sighed putting her human arm on her head. "Hey are you okay?" Blake asked worried. 
"Yeah, I mean- no. But I don't know. I'm just tired." Yang took her hand off of her head before continuing to walk. "Yeah." Blake said staring at Yang who was walking away from her. 

"Hey I found something." Following a gasp Blake quickly rushes to Yang who was looking out of a window. "What is it?" Blake looked at her worried. "I...I was just seeing things, I'm sorry." Yang sighs. "I still get flashes from that night. Do you think Adam is still out there?" Yang clutches her shaking hand.

"I don't know, if he went back to the White Fang there would've been serious consequences. But he never really like people telling him what to do. Adam's strong, but his real power comes from control. He used to get in my head, make me feel small. But now I see he just wanted to pull me down to his size." Blake gives Yang a smile before holding her hand. "Hey, I'm not leaving, and if we ever see him again, I promised I'll be there." She locked up at the taller girl who returns her smile. "And I'll protect you." Yang's eyes widen and she frowns. "What?" "What?" Blake looked at her in confusion. "For get it let's just head back." Yang takes her hand away from Blake's and walking away. "But what about-" Yang cuts Blake off. "We're fine. We can hook that flatbed up to Bumblebee in the morning. Should carry everyone."

The group had finally returned to the house, Ruby and Weiss both found a wine cellar containing some canned food. When Blake and Yang came back, Y/n worries only double noticing the change in their demeanor. Y/n sighs before standing up in her seat next to Maria before walking out of the room. "Storm's cleared up for now. We should be able to leave by morning." She heard Qrow say to Ruby. "That's good." The younger girl said. "No, I don't have a good feeling about this place especially with me around." Ruby's eyes trail down to the bottle next to Qrow. "Are you okay?" She asked receiving a scoff from the man. "Sure tell everyone to get some sleep. I'll wake you guys up before sunrise."

Ruby turned around and saw Y/n leaning against the doorframe. "Oh hey Y/n we should probably head to bed." Ruby smiled at her. "It's fine, I don't need sleep. I'm gonna go clear my mind for a bit." Ruby raises an eyebrow at her but nods suspiciously. "Hey guys." Ruby states rushing into the room. "Qrow said we should go get some sleep. We're gonna head out early tomorrow." Ruby says. "Thank goodness." Yang says as the other stand up. "Wait where's Y/n" Blake looked around seeing no Y/n in sight. "She went off somewhere, she said she wanted to clear her head for a bit." Blake frown slightly before nodding.
