A/n: ^What mafuyu looks like and on some occasions they wear a cloak or a trench coat also mafuyu was actually just supposed to be a character that only appeared in volume 3 but whatever might as well give y/n a rival

3rd Person POV

"Now where have you been?" Mafuyu jumps in her bedroom and they see Cinder staring at them sitting on their bed. "Well why are you doing on my bed?" Mafuyu asked taking her cloak off, Cinder raises an eyebrow before standing up and walking towards them. "Am I not allowed to be in your room? We've been together for quite a while." Cinder stands in front of them, crossing her arms. Mafuyu rolls their eyes before looking up at Cinder.

"Fine I was out getting an artifact I read in some demon book." They said breaking eye contact attempting to walk away but Cinder grips their wrist. "Can I see this artifact?" Mafuyu turns around and shows Cinder the mask. "And what does it do?" Cinder raises an eyebrow as Mafuyu smirks. "You'll see sooner or later. Oh and you can say I had an encounter with a familiar demon heir." Cinder's eyes widen before smirking.

"I feel like something's off." Y/n mumbles as her and the others were walking towards Haven academy. And when they enter they see Leo. "Why hello. Thank you for coming. There seems to be more of you than last time." The man said sounding a bit off. "Eh you know what they say the more the merrier. So what's going on with the council?" Qrow asks. "Why did you bring your weapons." Leo puts his hands behind his back. "Leo, we're huntsman Are you okay?" Yang glances off to the side and spots a familiar raven as Y/n felt a familiar aura near her while Qrow and Leo spoke. 

"Mom?" Yang says. causing Leo to quickly look to where she was looking. The raven flies past Leo and it transforms into Yang's mother. "They really are magic." Nora steps back as Raven takes her mask off. "If you're going to shoot me, shoot me. That was insulting." Raven says as a light blush appears on Y/n face. "What are you doing here?" Qrow looks at his sister. "I could ask you the same thing. You've been scheming little brother. Planning to attack your own sister." Raven said walking down the steps while glaring at Qrow. "Leo what have you done?" Qrow looks at Leo.

"I-" "Leo did what any sane person would in his position. He looked at all the information he had in front of him, assessed the situation, and made a choice. And it seems you all have too." Raven said looking at the group more specifically at Yang. "You have the spring maiden." Qrow said. "I do." His sister responds. "Then hand her over and let's work together. We can beat Salem." Qrow tries to reason. "All the time spent spying for Ozpin and you still have no idea what you're dealing with. There is no beating Salem." Raven says.

"You're wrong. We've done things most people would call impossible and I know the only reason we were able to do it is because we didn't do it alone. We had people to teach us. People to help us. We had each other work with us at least I'll know we'll have a better chance if we try together please." Ruby put her hand out which Raven looks at before back at her. "You sound just like your mother." Raven said opening a portal as a fireball get launched at Ruby. Y/n's eyes go wide and before she could react a powerful kick hit her sending her into the wall.

"Ruby! Y/n!" Yang yells running towards her sister. While Cinder walks out of the portal along with a few others and Mafuyu jumps next to her. "Hello boys and girls." She smirks. "Cinder." Ruby says. "C'mon guys is that anyway to greet your old friends?" Mercury asked with a smirk. "Everybody stay calm." Qrow tries to reassure them. While the door opens behind them causing everybody to turn around. "The white fang is prepping demolition. No one's getting in, and no one's getting out." Hazel said closing the doors. "This all was just a trap?" Weiss said turning back to face Leo. "Raven tell me, how long have you been with them?" 

"Aw, don't take it personally little bird. Your sister was a recent addition. The lion on the other hand...entrance into the Vytal Festival was a real treat. But Leonardo's been sending Salem all sorts information for a very, very long time. Isn't that right, Professor?" Cinder walked forward a bit. "Stop it." Leo responds. "You sit on the Mistral council. You had information on every huntsman and huntress in the kingdom. And you gave it all to her. I couldn't find any of them because you let her kill them." Leo doesn't respond to Qrow but only looks down with a face full of guilt. "Aw now, don't beat yourself up over it Lionheart  I'm sure Tyrian and Hazel would have found them on their own eventually." Cinder said. 

"What is wrong with you? How can you be so broken inside? To take so many lives, then come here and rub it in our faces like it's something to be proud of." Jaune said looking. "Jaune..." Nora looked at her leader worriedly. "All with that damn smile on your face!" Jaune said tears streaming down his face as everyone readies their weapons. "Everybody stay calm." Qrow says as Cinder just stares at Jaune.

"I'm gonna make you pay for what you did. Do you hear me?! Well, say something!" Jaune yells as everyone else readies their weapons. "You shame me for killing people yet you still decide to accompany a demon who was given the title "the grim reaper from hell" who has killed more than me." Everyone eyes go wide taking a glance at Y/n who sighs and just looks away from them. "But remind me. Who are you again?" Cinder finishes as Jaune growls before getting his sword and charging at her. To which Cinder summons her own blade and blocks his attack with ease.

"Jaune!" Ruby rushes to help her friend but she gets pulled down by Emerald. "You're not getting near her." Emerald says. Y/n stood there watching the scene unfold until she noticed a certain demon disappear her eyes go wide before turning around and quickly blocking an attack from Mafuyu. "Just so you know that poison wasn't appreciated at all." Mafuyu smirks at Y/n before a ball of light appeared in their hand and they attempt to hit Y/n's side with it. But when they do Y/n simply shatters and disappears.

Mafuyu raises an eyebrow before eyes go wide and she turns to her left only to be met by a slash of Y/n's blade. They were knocked back a bit but they just smirked. "I thought I was the illusionist of this relationship." They say  before half of their face get enveloped by black smoke. "What the hell-" Y/n attempts to back away but she was hit by one a claw getting her knocked back. The whole room was just filled entirely of chaos with multiple battles occurring.

"Are you gonna let her die to?" Jaune and Cinder looked at Weiss whose aura had been broken by Vernal. "Stop messing with me!" Jaune yells with tears streaming down his face. "If that's what you want." Cinder says before setting her entire blade on fire and rushing towards Jaune.

"Do you Morningstars ever give up?" Mafuyu panted hitting Y/n with one of their claws. Ruby seeing Jaune and Cinder almost clash blades gives her flashbacks to the moment she saw Pyrrha die. She screams before her eyes glow a blinding white before she gets knocked out by Emerald and Cinder's weapon disappears. Cinder pants as Jaune's blades grazes her face slightly before she just manages to move away. Cinder stands up looking down at Jaune who was knocked down then slowly walked towards him before stepping on him.(when is it my turn) 

"Do you really think you actually had a chance against me?! You?!" Cinder said angered. "You're just a failure with a death wish." Jaune struggles as Cinder pushes down harder. "If I die buying them time, then it's worth it. They're the ones that matter." Jaune said looking towards his teammates. "You think so?" Cinder smirked seeing Weiss get knocked by Vernal before summoning an obsidian spear stalking towards Weiss. "No." Jaune said wide eyed. 

Y/n turns towards them and her eyes go wide, but unfortunately for her that small bit of distraction gave Mafuyu enough time to land a powerful blow on her with a shadow ball, launching Y/n to a wall. "No!!" Jaune yelled seeing Cinder throw the spear and it impales Weiss stomach as the room immediately goes silent. 

Y/n's eyes being wide still she turns back towards Mafuyu who held a grin and was walking towards her. "I can't believe it, I finally get to kill a Morningstar! My ancestors would be proud." Mafuyu said with a grin as Y/n was slowly standing up. "C'mon Morningstar, just face it, this is your end." They said as Y/n kept silent. "What are your final words, Morningstar?" Mafuyu turns their claw into a blade before pointing at Y/n's neck while Y/n herself was looking down.

"Burn to oblivion."

Then suddenly a black flame engulfs Mafuyu before they get launched into the wall effectively knocking them out.
