3rd Person POV

"Ugh, now how can I cause chaos with back pain..." Y/n mumbles holding her lower back in pain as the train they were on had just crashed. "Is everyone okay?" Qrow groaned standing up. "I'm fine." Weiss responded. "Yeah." Yang helped Ruby up. "Still alive! That sure was a close one huh?" An elderly voice said as an old woman came out of the train. "You're fucking kidding me." Y/n mumbled.

She looks to her side and notices Yang struggling to get her bike out of the snow, Y/n smirks deciding to tease the girl a bit. "Awh can miss hot head struggling to get her little bike out of the snow?" She grins walking closer to Yang. "Oh shut up." Yang groans, rolling her eyes at Y/n. "How about you make me shut up?" Y/n smiled as Yang glared at her. When Yang finally manages to get her bike out of the snow she also falls onto the snow, Y/n holds in a laugh before a snowball hit her face.

"Why do we have to be stuck with some defenseless old lady." Y/n mumbles whipping the snow off her face. "My name is Maria Calavera, and I am not some defenseless. Just a little hard of hearing, and blind without my eyes. That are in desperate need of repair." Maria says tapping the side of her "eyes". "Okay I'm starting to see you point." She huffs before turning away. "Yang knock it off will ya? If we lose out cool now we'll be attracting more grimm." Qrow told his niece.

"Does that even matter? Because apparently we've been attracting grimm since we left Haven." Blake said. "Oh and how could I forget about that, what happened to no more lies and half truths?" Yang put a hand on her hip sounding a bit more annoyed. "Yeah I think it's time we got an explanation." Oscar said particularly talking to Ozpin as the man quickly takes over his body. "I did not lie to you." Ozpin defends himself.

"Well you definitely didn't tell us everything about the relic." Y/n crossed her arms walking next to Yang. "Please now is not the time." Ozpin tries to reason but receives and angered response from Yang. "No we're past that, I wanna know why you're still not telling us everything." She said. "It is true that grimm are attracted to the relics. It's faint but undeniable I believe it has to do with their origin but I'm not entirely sure. Regardless, I feared making you all aware would only add anxiety and negativity, It seemed like the safer option." Ozpin explains.

"You know I've gotten tired of people choosing what's best for me." Weiss states. "Is that why you chose to lie to everyone about Lionheart too?" She retorts. "Yes as a matter of fact, I believed the Kingdom of Mistral deserved better than the truth, and I believed Leonardo deserved to be remembered for his lifetime of service and not the unfortunate missteps he made in his final years." Ozpin says while walking as the others start to follow him. "Missteps?!" Yang shouted.

"What professor Lionheart did was reprehensible. I am not here to argue differently but does one lapse in judgement truly negate all of his good? Do we not all have regrets? You may have met professor Lionheart, but you never met the man he was before Salem found him." Ozpin states.

"Look were supposed to be in this together. You can trust us. We're not gonna turn our backs on you." Yang responds. "Do you really think Leo was the first?!" Ozpin yells causing everyone to go silent. "That he didn't say those exact same words to me? I'm sorry but you have to understand that my behaviors are backed by experience, I'm not saying I have reason to think you will betray me. I'm saying that I have reason for the things that I do, the secrets I keep. The reason I...where's the relic?" Ozpin said with a panicked expression.

"Right here." Ruby pulled out the relic. "It got scattered in the crash." She continued. "Please, hand it over." Ozpin put his hand out. "So all those times you talked about having faith in humanity, that was just for everyone else?" Ozpin sighs. "That's not what I meant to suggest. Miss Rose, the relic is a powerful item and I simply feel as though it is my burden to bear." He said. "Didn't you say that it couldn't do anything right now?" Y/n crossed her arms. "Why does it matter who carries it?" Blake asked. "I need you to listen to me-" Ozpin put his arm out and suddenly freezes.

"Oz?"

"Hurry. He's trying to stop you." Oscar struggles. "Stop her from what?" Yang raised an eyebrow. "He's afraid you'll find out what he's...hiding." Oscar says before he falls to the floor. "Her name is Jinn. Say her name to summon her." Oscar said. "Her name?" Ruby looks down at the relic in her hands. "Jinn." Suddenly it felt like everything stopped. "What?" The relic in the girl's hands suddenly starts to float as a blue aura surrounds it. It floats away from her before a massive woman emerges from it. "O-oh wow...." Y/n mumbles, her face beet red and eyes starting to go pink. Blake glances at her before sighing and covering Y/n's eyes with her hand.

"Wonderful...what knowledge do you seek?" The woman said. "Well I'd love to know-" Before Y/n could finish her sentence Blake moves her hand to cover the girl's mouth. "I am Jinn. A being created by the God of Light to aid humanity in it's pursuit of knowledge. I've been graced with the ability to answer three questions every 100 years. You're in luck as I am still able to answer-" Jinn was cut off by Ozpin.

"That's enough!" Everyone turns to him. "Two questions this era...It's a pleasure to see you again old man." Jinn chuckles. "Ruby, please, don't." Ozpin tries to reason with her. "Hey." Everyone drew their weapons as Qrow stepped up. "Do whatever you think is right kiddo." Qrow put his hands up. "Jinn? What is Ozpin hiding from us." Ruby turned to the woman. "NOOO!"

_____

(i'm not crazy, I am not writing all of that)

"Salem can't be killed You all heard her too right?" Yang said as they all surround Ozpin who was on his knees. "I-" "There was so much you hadn't told us. How could you think that was okay?" Yang cut him off. "What is your plan to defeat Salem?" Ruby glared at him. "I-...Don't have one." He said with a tear stained face. Soon after a fist collided with his cheek making him crash into a nearby tree.

"No one wanted me, I was cursed. I gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world, I thought I was finally doing some good." Qrow stomped towards him. "But you are." Ozpin said with tears starting to form. "Meeting you was the worst luck of my life." Qrow replies. "Maybe you're right." He says before his eyes glowed but quickly went back to normal.

"What happened?" Ruby walked over to Oscar. "He's gone." Oscar responds. "That bastard tell him we're not done yet!" Yang angrily walked towards them." No, this is different. He's gone. It's like he locked himself deep inside my head. Our head? I hate this! I want it to stop!" Oscar grunted. "He just left us?" "What are we gonna do now?"

"Enough!" The elderly woman yelled. "We need to get a move on. It'll be dark before we know it and every one of you is spewing negativity!" She walks over to Oscar and lends him her cane for support. "There's a trail over there, trails usually lead to somewhere." She turns to the group. "Lady, I don't know who you think you are but-" Yang was cut off by Maria slamming her cane into the ground.

"No buts! I understand you're upset . Honestly I'm still coming to terms with the fact that this is humanity's second time around. But if we don't move, we die. And I'll be damned if I've lived this long just to die out here in the cold!" The woman says. "She's right, Come on." Ruby says as the other get ready to leave.
