3rd Person POV

Y/n was fast asleep with Yang spooning her until she felt her scroll vibrating in her pocket, she quietly groans before taking out her scroll and looking at the caller ID. She once again groans when she sees that it was her lieutenant before answering. "What is it? I was in the middle of a good dream....why are you calling me for this?....Ugh, fine I'll do it." She hung up.

"Y/n? Where are you going?" Yang's groggy voice said as she felt Y/n shuffling out of her arms. "There's just an emergency I have to deal with, I'll be back in the morning." Y/n said putting on her harness. "Are you sure that you'll be back?" Yang whispered sitting up a bit. "I promise." Y/n replied giving Yang's forehead a kiss before putting on her jacket then walking out of the room.

Ruby sat alone in the backyard they had stayed in staring at the sky. When a familiar blonde haired girl blocked her view of the sky. "You're up early." She said. "Hey sis." Ruby said as a small smile formed on her face. "Boop." Yang responds tickling Ruby's face with her hair. "What are you doing up?" Ruby asked sitting up. "Can't fall back asleep." Yang replied sitting down next to Ruby. "Ah me neither." The younger one replied.

"Well, fortunately coffee exists." The two turned and they are greeted with Weiss behind them holding a tray with three cups of coffee. She walks over to Yang, bends down and Yang takes a cup before Weiss stands up then walks over to Ruby. "No please." Ruby says. "Don't worry I put blasphemous amounts of cream and sugar just for you." Weiss rolled her eyes slightly before handing Ruby a cup. "Oh yeah nice Weiss strikes again." Ruby cheers with a smiles as she attempts to take the cup from Weiss before Weiss moves her hand away. "I will pour this on you and it will burn." Weiss says before handing ruby her cup then going to sit next to her. 

"Can't believe we're actually in Mistral." Yang says. "That's what you can't believe?" Ruby turns to her sister. "Well yeah! And all the other magic and stuff. But okay you know what I mean." Yang smiles slightly. "I honestly wasn't sure if I'd ever see you two again." Weiss said gesturing a cheers to Yang. "Well here's to defying expectations." Yang said returning Weiss' cheers as Ruby chugs her coffee behind them.

"I just wish Blake could be here with us." Ruby looks down. "Yeah, well she made her choice." Ruby and Weiss glanced at each other in shock at Yang's statement. "What's that supposed to mean?" Weiss asked. "I mean she could've been here if she just stuck around. It's no big deal though we'll be fine." Yang says causing Ruby and Weiss to go silent. "Don't you want her here?" 

"Why would I want her here?" Yang said turning to Ruby. "Are you still mad at her for leaving?" Ruby asked sounding saddened. "Oh whatever gave you that idea Ruby? No I'm totally fine, I'm great." Yang scoffed. "Okay calm down." Weiss says. "Don't tell me to calm down." Yang snaps, her eyes going red. "Whoa, Yang." Yang's eyes go wide realizing what she had said before looking down at her hand that was shaking slightly then standing up. "Whatever." She said standing up  before walking away.

"I can't believe you're making me do this." Y/n said to her ear piece as she navigates through the forest. "I'm sorry commander, you were the only one closest to the location." The person in her ear said apologetically. "Yeah whatever. Am I almost there?" Y/n rolled her  eyes cutting down a bush with her katana. "Yep. Oh and remember it's just a few bandits so it should go smoothly." The person said. "Oh I see it, and the artifact. Wait why does my mom need it anyway?" Y/n asked. "No idea probably for something important." They replied as Y/n sighs before teleporting to the camp spooking the men in the camp.

"Listen I was woken up at like 2 in the morning for this, just give me the damn artifact and I can go take a nap." Y/n said before the men charged at her. "Oh fucking shit." She said before snapping her fingers as black goop coming from underneath her and it forms black tentacles and taking a hold of the men before the get sucked into the ground. "At least that wasn't that bad." She yawns walking over to a table near the tent. "So this is it." She said picking up the mask and starting to walk away. "Pretty cool, wonder what it does-" She was cut off by the mask being taken away from her hand. 

"What the hell." She turns around quickly and her eyes go wide seeing a cloaked figure holding the mask in the hand. "You know I thought this would be hard. But thanks Morningstar." Y/n groans. "Hey listen dude, don't make this hard for me please I'm running on two hours of  sleep." Y/n sighs before the person scoffs before charging towards Y/n with a blade coming out of their hands. Y/n's eyes go wide then quickly blocking their blade with her katana. She pushed them forward causing them to get knocked back not to far from Y/n. 

"Listen random person I don't think you know what you're getting into." She said looking at the person who grins under her hood before disappearing, Y/n raised an eyebrow before eyes go wide and turning around seeing the person's blade turned into something that resembled claws. Then the person slashed Y/n's lower abdomen and the girl winced before jumping away. "Fucking shit." She grumbled before black smoke ingulfed her hand and rushing to the person and hitting her with her fist then the person before an explosion came from her hand.

"Just give me the fucking mask and we can both go on our merry way." Y/n wiped the small amount of blood that came out of her mouth. The person only responds with an orb of light forming in their hand then teleporting to Y/n's side and charging towards her. Caught of guard, Y/n doesn't have enough time to react and she get blasted into a tree. "And I thought I would get to used this in some tournament or something." She said as a hawk like shadow ingulfs the top of her head. She charges to the person at inhuman speed then slashing them with claws in the form of shadows. She manages to tear the person's hood revealing who it was.

"Long time no see Morningstar." The person who was revealed to be Mafuyu grins, their eyes glowing purple before landing a powerful kick to Y/n's side knocking her away. "You feel different, did you hold back when we first fought or you did some weird bullshit that made you stronger. "I was just holding back the first time but I did get some upgrades after that." They said as black goo ingulfed half  of their face and Y/n's eyes go wide feeling something penetrate her stomach she looks down and sees a black spike being pulled out of her abdomen. 

"Thanks for finding this mask for me, it'll be a great help in the future." Mafuyu grins watching Y/n collapse on the ground. "What the hell did you do to me?" Y/n manages to say as a agonizing pain runs through her body. "I just injected something into your body, don't worry it won't kill you though It's just enough for me to escape without you catching me. And If you're wondering why your wounds won't heal, it's just a little technique that was passed down to me. Now then, c'ya." They smiled before running away with the mask. Y/n coughs out a little bit of blood before standing up and trying to teleport herself too the right place. 

She arrives in front of the door to where they had stayed in she struggles to stand before she shakily brings up her hand to the door and knocks. "I'll get it!" She heard Yang's voice say as the door opens revealing her girlfriend. "Y/n?! Where have you-" Yang was cut off by Y/n collapsing into her arms. "Y/n?! Y/n?! Hey! What happened?!" that was the last thing Y/n had heard before she blacked out.

Y/n's eyes slowly start to open and she was greeted by the ceiling. She tiredly sits up without noticing Yang on next to her on the bed. Y/n let's out a small groan holding her head in her hands.  The blonde next to her hears this and quickly turns to her and gives her a hugs. "I was so worried." Yang said burying her face into Y/n shoulder. "I'm sorry." Y/n gives a small reply giving Yang a hug back. After  some time the two of them separate.

Yang's eyes soften before bringing her hand to Y/n face and stroking her cheek. "What happened?" Yang asked worried and Y/n just sighs. "I went to get an artifact my mom asked for but I ended up having a run in with a familiar face. But now I'm mostly okay." Y/n says before Yang leans forward a bit, their lips only a few inches apart and they had stayed like that for a bit. 

"Just kiss me already." Y/n said sounding a bit annoyed. "Impatient now are we?" Yang smirked making Y/n's face go deep red. Yang chuckles before going in and giving Y/n a passionate kiss.
