3rd Person POV

It was now morning and Y/n was now back in the room. Not asleep though as she sat on the couch wide awake reading a book. As the sound of an empty bottle makes Ruby gasp awake, the girl eventually stands up before she opens the curtains. "Close window!" Weiss grumbles in her sleep. Ruby walks out of the room picking up the bottle that had fallen down and sees the array of empty bottles next to Qrow.

"Uncle Qrow. Come on get up" She said walking over to him before shaking him awake. "Leave me alone." He groans. "We overslept." Then Ruby was pushed aside by Qrow, the girl looks at the bottle in her head with furrowed eyebrow before she throws the bottle against the wall making Qrow immediately wake up. "What? Oh right. Sunrise." Qrow looks down before Ruby envelopes him in a hug. "You know you can talk to me about stuff. Yang too." "Let's just get out of here." Qrow said pulling away from the hug and walking away with Ruby closely following him.

"Can we just go back to bed." Oscar says sitting at the foot of the stairs. "If we're all so tired maybe we should make breakfast?" "You wanna make it?" "Not really." Y/n stood beside Blake and Oscar, raising eyebrow. Yes she was tired, but that was mainly because of last night. "You guys got the bike ready?" Ruby asked after her and Qrow pushed the trailer and Yang hums in response. "So let's hook this thing up-" Qrow puts his foot on the trailer making the tire pop.

"Bad luck sure loves you guys." Y/n laughs as if she isn't a victim to a lot of bad luck herself, Qrow groans again before walking away and sitting on the snow. "I'm starting to think the universe just doesn't want us to get to Atlas." Yang sat down and leaned against the well. "It's just a flat tire, I'm sure there's a spare." Ruby tries to reassure the girl. "It's not just that. It's everything. Storms, crashes, monsters...I'm so tired." Yang sighed. "Me too. It feels like we're always having to fight to get by." Blake looks down. "Yeah, but that's what we signed up for." Ruby says.

"We signed up to try and save the world. Not just, delay the inevitable." Oscar replied, looking off to the side. "Last night I...I couldn't stop thinking. Why are we even going to Atlas?" Everyone goes quiet at Weiss' remark. "Weiss, we have to." "Why? Ozpin his the relics behind giant doors under enormous schools. But, how long would it take Salem to find a lamp in the middle of nowhere?" Yang stood up. "The grimm might-" Yang cuts Ruby off. "They'd find it eventually sure, but bury it or just throw it down the well. It would take years it might not even happen in our lifetime. But we could be done with it now."

Ruby looks down and takes the relic from her belt before looking up at Yang and her other teammates who stare at her. Ruby walks up to the well. "I am really tired." She looks down the well holding the relic above the well. "Ruby, please don't do something you'll regret in the future." Y/n crossed her arms walking over to them. Ruby suddenly screams seeing two glowing red dots at the bottom of the well making her accidentally drop the relic. "Oh you're fucking kidding me." Y/n mumbles. "No no no I didn't mean to!"

"Ruby can you try to snap them out of what ever this is? I'll go get the relic." Y/n walked up to the well. "Y/n you don't need to do that-" Blake was cut off when Y/n suddenly jumped into the well. "Get the stupid lamp. Oscar fix the stupid tire." Qrow started walking to the house. "Where are you going?" Maria asked. "Where do you think?" He gestured to his flask.

Ruby and the others decided to jump down to the bottom of the well and Ruby turns on her scroll. "Maybe the current carried it away." Yang said as the started walking. "Shit!" They hear from a distance, they quickly rush over to the source of the sound but they spot Y/n running out from a tunnel with a multitude of Grimm following after her. "What is this?" Yang struggles. "My weapon feels...heavy." Y/n who seemed unaffected by the Grimm quickly summons black tentacles to hold off the Grimm but they somehow disappear making Y/n's eyes go wide. "Run! Now!" Maria who was somehow it the well yells at them.

The others looks at the Grimm. "Go! Go!" Ruby yelled as the others ran with her. The others once again get hit with a massive wave of fatigue. "This way!" Ruby yelled as the others entered the entrance next to them. The group finds that they were under the house but they were greeted by even more apathy. "I can't do this." Yang and the others dropped down Y/n quickly rushes up the stairs attempting to open the door. "Blake!" There was a sudden flash of light as Ruby screamed Blake's name. "I've got her." Ruby helped Blake up.

"I-... I can't open the door!" "Out of my way!" Before Yang could rush to help Y/n they all suddenly collapse. "Ruby, what color are your eyes?" Maria crawled over to Ruby. "They're silver." Ruby answered making Maria gasp. "You have a family, friends?" Maria grabbed her shoulders as Ruby looked at her with a confused look on her face. "Don't think about them. Think about the people who love you. Focus on the thought of them the way they make you feel. Focus!" Maria covers Ruby's ears as the girl starts to close her eyes.

Ruby stands up once again and that blinding light appears once more and all of the apathy disappear. Yang rushes up to the top of the stairs before punching the door open as her and Y/n entered the room with the others following after them. "We're back inn the house?" They turned to their side and see a passed out Qrow sitting at the bar. "Uncle Qrow get up!" Ruby tried to get him up. "Hey get off me! What are you doing here?" He stood up. "We're leaving you idiot! Come on!" Maria said slamming her cane on the ground. Yang grabs both Y/n and Blake's hand before the three rushed out of the room.

"Oscar! We have to go now!" Maria, Yang, Y/n and Blake rushed out of the house as the boy just finished filling the tire. The others quickly follow as Yang jumps on her bike while Y/n went to sit behind her before they drove off.

Several minutes pass and the others who sat in the trailer while being in their own conversation. Y/n on the other hand had her arms wrapped around Yang's waist and her head sat on Yang's shoulder. "I'm sorry for what I said about giving up." Weiss says after Maria had thrown the diary from the house away. Then Yang stops her driving. "Me too, we can't quit until the lamp is safe." She says. "It's not your fault. It was those things..." Blake reassures her. "I should've known. The signs were all there. But I've never seen an entire settlement withered away like that I suppose my mind isn't what it used to be." Maria says.

"Miss Calavera? How do you know so much about the Grimm? And in the tunnels you knew exactly what to say to make me...to make my eyes do that? How?" Ruby asks the old woman. "Well, isn't it obvious girl? I had silver eyes." And after that Maria starts to ramble about her past identity as Y/n still had her arms around Yang's waist and was in her own thoughts until Yang's voice interrupted her. "Hey N/n, you okay? You've been really quiet."

"Uh, yeah, just thinking about earlier." She mumbles but it was loud Yang to hear, she glances down at Y/n before nodding. "You, you're the Grimm Reaper. You were a legend then you disappeared." Qrow says. "How exactly does a legend just disappear?" Oscar asked. "You never used your name, never showed your face. Lots of us thought you were just layin low. Eventually, we came to accept that you were probably dead. But the stories about you, I based my weapon off of yours, I wanted to be as good as the Grimm reaper." Qrow tells.

"Well, I'm nothing but a disappointment So you're well on your way." Maria replies. "How can you say that?" Blake asked. "Child, a huntress is supposed to protect others to the bitter end But after I lost my eyes I only ever looked after myself." Maria looks down, as their conversation continued Ruby's scroll suddenly starts to ring. "It's Jaune." She gasped as Yang stopped her bike as Ruby picked up the phone and the two start to have a conversation they then notice that they were not too far from the city. Yang once again starts her bike and they start to drive up the hill. "Ladies and gentlemen we have arrived in Argus." Yang smiled turning around and looked at the others.

"Cute boy Oz!" A voice was heard as the others were settling in and it was revealed that that voice was Nora before she tackled Oscar to the ground. "Are you okay? We were so worried" Ren asked giving Yang a hug. "It's been a crazy trip." Yang answers. "That's definitely an understatement." Y/n commented with a slight grin. "Who's the old lady?" Nora pointed to Maria.
