"Are you still coming?" I asked Daphne, whom I was currently video calling while packing my clothes for our overnight swimming trip tomorrow.
Kakauwi ko lang kani-kanina after namin kumain sa labas ni Danzel, inaya niya kasi ako kanina pagkatapos nung reporting namin sa science. Kaming dalawa lang dahil nag uwian na mga kaibigan namin agad.
"Oo, teh" sagot sa'kin ni Daphne
"Pero sasabay ako sa'yo, ayokong mag punta mag isa, nakakahiya" dagdag niya pa
"Sige, pumunta ka na lang dito sa bahay before mag 4 bukas"
"Magdadala ka ba ng swim suit?" tanong sa'kin ni Daphne
"Nagdala ako isa"
"Sige ako rin"
We talked for hours, Daphne and I, before she finally ended the call. I had mentioned I was about to have dinner, which probably made her to hang up.
After our conversation, I headed downstairs for dinner. As I stepped out of my room, I saw Mommy and Daddy making their way down from their room, clearly ready for dinner too. Mommy smiled warmly at me when she saw me, and we all go together towards the dining table.
Daddy took his place at the head of the table, with Mommy beside him, and I settled in across from Mommy.
"Yaya Lovely, pakitawag na nga si Claire, para sumabay na samin kumain" utos ni Mommy kay Ate Lovely kaya agad naman umakyat si ate Lovely sa taas para tawagin ang aking kapatid.
"Good evening po, Mi and Di" masayang bati ng aking kapatid sa aming magulang.
"Kain na, Anak" aya naman ni Mommy kay Claire,
"Hi, Ate" bati niya sa'kin ng makaupo siya, ako naman ay ngumiti si kanya
Tahimik lang kaming kumain ng magsalita si Mommy.
"Bukas na ba ang overnight swimming nyo, Anak?" tanonf sa'kin ni Mommy
"Yes po, Mi"
"Sienna, honey, be careful out there. Don't wander into the deep end," Mom warned me, so I nodded in response.
I glanced over at Dad when I heard him chuckle. "Oh come on, love. Our daughter isn't a baby anymore. She knows her way around," he chimed in.
Mom rolled her eyes at Dad, which made me laugh. "I'm just looking out for her," Mom retorted, making Dad to throw his hands up in mock surrender. Claire and I couldn't help but join in the laughter.
Daddy is so UNDERstanding
Our dinner was a blast; every moment spent together around the dining table was filled with laughter and shared stories.
I woke up a bit late this morning, around 1 p.m., because I stayed up watching a movie last night. After checking the time, I hurriedly took a shower.
I decided on high-waisted denim shorts paired with a cropped Zara top. I also threw on the cap that Danzel gave me.
Once I finished my morning routine, I headed downstairs to grab some lunch, only to be surprised by Daphne walking through our door.
"Aga mo" natatawang saad ko sa kanya
"At least maaga" saad ni Dap, saka pumasok sa loob.
"Kumain kana ng lunch?" tanong ko sa kanya
"Actually, hindi pa kasi breakfast lang kinain ko sa house"
"Sabay ka na sa'kin, ngayon pa lang ako kakain ng lunch eh"
"Sige, teh" tugon niya at binaba ang backpack saka tote bag sa couch namin, sabay kaming pumunta sa may dining table.
