Sienna Loren Monroe

"Sie"

"Sie" Sunod-sunod na malakas na tawag sa pangalan ko, lumigon ako sa kaliwa, kanan, at harap ko pero wala akong makita.

"Sie sa likod mo" sabi ng isang pamilyar na boses sakin, kaya agad akong lumigon sa likod ko at nakita ko si... Zely

"Zely," I mumbled.

"Sie," he said... I missed that voice

I wasted no time, sprinting towards where Zely stood. As I reached him, I threw myself into his arms.

"I miss you so much," I whispered between sobs, feeling his embrace tighten and his face nuzzle into my neck.

"I miss you too, Sie," he murmured softly in my ear.

"Please come back," I pleaded desperately.

"I'm... already... back." His voice was gentle and slow.

"W-what?" I asked, pulling away slightly from his embrace.

He just smiled at me, a smile filled with warmth, and then began to slowly fade away.

"Zely..."

"Zely..."

I called out his name over and over again, but he never appeared again.

I stirred awake to the sound of heavy raindrops. Slowly opening my eyes, I was greeted by the dimness of my room, making me reach for the lamp on my bedside table.

Glancing at my alarm clock to check the time, it read 11:30 a.m. Danzel was picking me up at 1:30 pm, so I hurriedly got out of bed, heading straight to the bathroom for a quick shower before making my way to my walk-in closet. Unsure of what to wear, I lingered for a few minutes, scanning through my options for something suitable to meet Danzel's sibling.

After what felt like an eternity, I finally stepped out of my walk-in closet, dressed in a white square neck puff sleeves top paired with light brown high-waist trousers and my favorite black Nancie sandals.

Seated at my vanity, combing through my hair, thoughts of my earlier dream about Zely flooded back. He had mentioned he was already back—back from where, and when did this happen?

"Ano ba Sienna, umayos ka nga" Bulong na saway ko sa akong sarili kasi para akong lutang. Tinapik ko rin ang magkabilang pisngi ko para magising ako.

Pagkatapos kong mag patuyo ng buhok at istraight ito, bumaba na ako sa baba namin para makakain. Our ulam today is pork steak, my favorite, pero hindi ako kakain ng marami kasi parang crop top yung suot ko tapos nakakahiya kung malaki ang tiyan ko. Matapos kong kumain, pumunta muna ako sa refrigerator namin para kumuha ng caramel frappuccino na nasa bottle; we stock a lot of drinks in our fridge, Claire and I always order drinks outside. That's why Dad decided to stock up a lot of juice, coffee, and other beverages so that we wouldn't have to place an order.

I lingered in the garden, where our swing hung quietly, while I waited for Danzel's text. The rain had stopped, but the weather remained overcast.

Tomorrow, we were also supposed to get our report cards. I had already informed Mom about it. She usually handles my and Claire's cards. Mom and Dad weren't strict about grades before; passing was enough. But everything changed when I failed a subject last year. I knew I had let my parents down deeply. Honestly, I was disappointed in myself too, which is why this year I poured my heart and soul into my studies. I couldn't bear to see my parents disappointed again.
