When LOVE is not Enough

Chapter 18 - Angel

I was not in a good mood today and yes I spend a lot of money to reserve the damn place only for him to be busy with his daughter.

How can I even be mad at that? I wish I hadn't planned it. I guess next time I'll have to ask him first before doing something that crazy.

You know what? I'm never doing anything like that again and since I can't be mad at him then anyone who crosses me today is going to get it. 

"What's wrong with her?", I heard Lily asking Iris when she arrived at work. I was the first one in and when I arrived, I made sure that I collected all the documents of the accounts I needed to work on. I didn't intend to move the whole day unless it was going to the toilet or just leaving for the gym.

Yes, I was going, how else was I going to see him again? I miss him, and I want to kiss him. I think it's the first thing I was going to do. The day went on well until I got a call from Daren who still wanted me to help him get a contract from Axel.

I told him I would ask but honestly, I was not going to, not after the stunt he pulled last time. When I was done with work I rushed out of the office and managed to arrive at the gym thirty minutes late. 

I found him waiting for me but he was not alone Alice was there too, she ran towards me hugging me tight, I hugged back.

"Hey there! It's good seeing you", I said making her smile wider. "Good to see you too. I was waiting for you so that I could go start swimming lessons, catch you later", she said running up the stairs towards the swimming pools.

When I turned, Axel was right in front of me. He pulled me in a kiss making me hold a moan. "Hey, partner!", "Hey", "I'm sorry I ditched you, I had to meet Rachel and her Lawyer, she wanted full custody of Alice but she ended up giving it to me so I wanted to have some bonding time with her.

I didn't mean to turn you down, I just wanted to be with her when she first moved in, I hope you can forgive me", I smacked his arm, and he looked at me all crazy.

"You could have told me that yesterday, what's wrong with you?", I said smacking him again. "Gosh! stop hitting me, I said I'm sorry", he said while laughing.

I knew he was playing me and if we were being honest then he would break me in two without so much as breaking a sweat. I changed into my gym clothes and returned to him. 

We did our normal routine then Alice joined us as we went to the cafe.

"This burger is amazing", Alice said while diving for another bite. "I know right? When your Dad chose it for me the very first time we came here, I worshiped him like a food god. Wait till you try the grilled cheese", I was telling Alice when I felt a hand on my thigh.

I turned to look at Axel and he was all smiles. It made him look younger and even sexier. He leaned in and kissed my lips, I pulled away blushing not sure it was ok doing that in front of Alice.

"It's ok Angel, I'm used to seeing PDA I'm not a toddler you know", she said focusing on her burger. I was a tomato at this point.

"Good night Alice, see you tomorrow ok?", "Ok, have a good night and drive safe", she said getting into Axel's fancy Mercedes-Benz GLE Class. Axel pulled me to his chest his back facing the car capturing my lips in a deep kiss that made me weak on the knees.

"I miss you", he whispered pulling back. "I miss you too... good night", I said looking into his eyes. They were filled with lust and desire and it felt good knowing that all those feelings were for me.

"Are you asleep already?", he asked when he called to check on me. "X you know I'm not we're literally talking come on", I teased making him laugh. "I know Angel, I just wanted you to say something. I love listening to your voice", "And I love you Axel Bane Knox", I said before I could think and I just froze.

What have I done?

"Do you mean that Angel?", "Uh... I do... I totally get it if this is not the right time for you. I mean, you just got Alice back and it's ok if you don't want any distractions. I just... I just thought you should know the reason behind the special dinner", I released a breath.

I waited to hear him say something but it was just quiet but I could hear the sound of his breathing so I knew he was there. 

"Angel, I love you so much. I just don't know how to express it to you without sounding like a cheesy person", that made me giggle. "You are a cheesy person", I added making him laugh instead.

"You're just amazing in so many ways and I love everything about you, your laugh, your personality and your amazing ass", that made me laugh but he ignored me and continued.

"I have never met anyone that makes me feel the way you do... you're just amazing and I'm ready to love you forever Angel, you have my heart and soul to do whatever you want with them". I was crying at this point. 

I wish he was saying all these things to my face so that I could hold him and kiss him and tell him that he is my everything too.

"Thank you for saying that Axel. It means a lot to me because I thought that maybe something was wrong with me that's why my ex dumped me only to claim he wants me back so that I can help him get a deal with you i-", I rambled away not knowing I just mentioned the 'Daren' situation to Axel.

"What? You mean Daren is the ex that broke your heart?", "Yes. I work for his Father now but he came because he wanted my help thinking you were my gym mate. He wanted me to be there so that you'd see a familiar face", I explained knowing very well that if Daren had any chance of closing this deal before now it was long gone and I didn't care.
