I was returning the glasses to the kitchen when I found Axel explaining to Dad how his business worked. The excitement in Dad's eyes was new. He never looked that invested in Daren.

"Hey guys, don't mind me", I said making them chuckle. "Going to bed?", Dad asked and I nod. I kissed their cheeks and then left the kitchen. With that whiskey bottle, there was no way they were going to be done anytime soon. 

"They look cozy together", Mum teased as we went up the stairs making me and Alice giggle at the same time. "What happened to your grandparents Ally? Was Axel this close to your Gramps?", Mum asked Alice.

"Well, I never met them. They died before I was born. Dad never talks about them either", she said sadly. "Oh, I'm so sorry my dear. No need to worry though... You have us now huh?", Mum said pulling her in a side hug. I joined in making her smile.

They looked normal in t-shirts and jeans which was weird compared to how I usually saw them. 

"Oh, where are my manners? Angel, this is my husband Travis and his brother Titan", she said and I felt like whining to god but settled with a plastic smile. Axel's not going to like this.

"We've met. They're actually my bosses", I said welcoming them into the house. "Awesome! Keep an eye on them for me. That one is troublesome", she said pointing at Titan who smirked for the first time. I always thought he didn't have a sense of humour. 

"Trust me, my love, he won't be any more", Travis said walking past us. "They work with your Dad in some of the projects which is how they know each other", she explained shocking me in the process. "This is not happening", I said just in time to see Axel walking into the room. His eyes fell on Travis then Titan. "Axel, come meet my business partners", Dad called him and I saw him releasing a breath. 

Bye-bye, amazing Christmas lunch.

I was happy that it all went well and we were now sitting in the backyard. I was sharing a chair with Axel who was playing with my hair as we listened to Dad and Travis talk about their very impressive projects. Titan was looking at me like he wanted to rip me away from Axel and I think Axel noticed and pulled me closer as if showing Titan that I belonged to him.

"We don't have to stay here, we can go inside", I whispered in his ear making him turn to look at me. "I'm ok baby", "You're sure?", "Yes", he said then kissed my lips. I deepened it making him hold me tighter. "I love you", i said making him smile. 

"What about you Mr. Farmer? Any success stories you wanna share with us?", Travis asked making us return our attention to the group. "Noup!", Axel said shortly making Alice and I giggle. I knew there was bad blood between Axel and Travis. I just have to find a way to make one of them tell me the truth.
