When LOVE is not Enough

Chapter 28 - Angel

I remember seeing her at the gym that day but never paid attention. I don't know what to do. Should I play it cool or get possessive of what's already mine? Alice told me that Iris and Lily know about this so why didn't they tell me? Why didn't Axel say anything? 

"Hey girl, welcome back. How's Michael and Esme?", Iris said pulling me in a hug. Then Lily followed. "They're fine, being their natural selves", I said as we sat in my cube.

"I swear, I want to be your parents when I grow up", Iris said. "Yeah I can so picture you and Anthony starting a family together somewhere", I teased making her blush.

"So when are you going to tell me about Jessy the stalker?", I asked my two co-workers during lunch making Lily choke on her juice.

"How did you find out?", Lily asked wiping her mouth. I remained quiet watching them both with a raised brow. "We were handling it. Besides she is no longer a problem if you ask me. Alice made sure of it", Iris said confidently.

Her big sister syndrome exposing itself in the open. "There better not be a next time", I said and they both nod in agreement.

I was called to Mr. Monroe's office and when I got there I found two gentlemen sitting on the visitor chairs facing him. One was looking at me in shock and the other was smiling.

"Gentlemen, this is Angel Carwyn. She will be handling the contract part of your onboarding. Angel, these two gentlemen are not just like family to the Monroes, they're my children. This is Travis and Titan Cozwell", Mr. Monroe said making me nod as he handed me their folder.

I was surprised because it was Luke's job to assign accounts to us but there was no way I was going to say that. "It's a pleasure to meet you both, please come with me to the mini boardroom so that we can discuss further on the way forward", I said and I swear, I heard Titan groan. "Thank you, Miss Carwyn. Lead the way", Travis said as we walked out of Mr. Monroe's office. 

"How long have you worked here Angel?", Travis asked as I opened the boardroom door for them. "I think two and a half years", I answered sitting across from them. "That's a shame", he said making me furrow my brows.

"Why is that?", I asked accusingly. I hated when men tried to belittle me. It didn't matter if they were customers or not so I had to make it clear if I was going to handle their account.

"Hey... hey I only meant that it's a shame that we haven't seen you before, we have been coming here a couple of times to see Uncle Declan", he said with his hand up in surrender looking terrified. It made me smile. 

He was a huge guy and so was Titan, they were very attractive and by their dress codes, they looked filthy rich but so did the rest of Mr. Monroe's clients.

"You have an addicting smile... Angel", Titan said looking at me in the eyes as if trying to suck out my soul. I cleared my throat and blinked a couple of times then turned to Travis who had a killer smile on his face.

This was the second time he did this when his brother was acting weird. He knew something I didn't but I would never ask what it was.

"Now that you know the type of business we're doing and the location. I think we are officially an open book to you but we know nothing about you. Do you have a boyfriend or husband?", Travis asked. I was thinking he would ask where I studied or if I was flexible with the queries so his question threw me off track a bit.

"I-I do, I also have a stepdaughter as well", I said and watched as Titan's neutral face turned angry and I wondered if he didn't want an account manager who was in a relationship or if he just had issues.

"Oh! That's disappointing, but hey... not all of us can get what we want when we want it right T?", Travis asked his brother sounding disappointed. We exchanged contacts then they left.

I reviewed the Cozwell file and discovered they were very rich. They owned hardware and vehicle manufacturing companies, and they want to venture into the hospitality industry and that's why they engaged Olympia.

Their parents died when they were young and Mr. Monroe stepped in as the father figure ever since. They were influential people. One thing I did not find was their marital status. It's like they didn't want that part out in the open which was very clever on their end. 

"What's this I hear about you and the Cozwell brothers and why am I hearing it from finance and not you?", Iris said with so much sass it made me laugh.

"For starters, I just got back from meeting them. Mr. Monroe wants me to be their account manager, it's not a big deal", I said shrugging my shoulders. "Of course, you would say that you're not invested in social media. Look...", she said giving me her phone and showing Titan and Travis on the cover of a magazine with the heading 'Sexiest Men of All Times'.

I was shocked, "Whoa! I had no idea", "Yes you didn't. Which is why Mr. Monroe chose you. Hah!", she said then went back to her desk.

I was late to the gym again. I found Axel waiting for me at the reception already changed. I was all smiles until Jessy appeared right in front of him running her fingers on the tattoos that were on his bicep, he flinched which was his saving grace.

When I was right behind him I turned him towards me and kissed the hell out of him, he smiles in the kiss. He always loved my possessive side. 

"Hi baby, sorry I'm late", "With a kiss like that, please be late every day", he teased making me pull back and face an uncomfortable-looking Jessy.

"You must be Jessy, I've heard a lot about you. Are we good?", I asked knowing she would understand what I was referring to. "I don't know what you mean", she said playing hard to get. I adjusted my glasses and stepped closer to her.

She was taller than me but it didn't bother me. "I know you want Axel and despite people trying to tell you politely to stay away, you haven't so I'm gonna ask you again. Are you going to be a problem in my relationship... Jessy?", my confidence seemed to throw her off, she swallowed hard then shook her head and walked away.
