"Wow, I didn't know you could play the piano."
Ayato turned around to look at you as his fingers continued to hit the keys gently. His face was barely visible for only two candles were by his sight, illuminating the notes, "Why are you here?"
"Thought I'd check up on the decorations for the ball tomorrow, it is an important event for you."
Ayato chuckled as you leaned against the door frame arms crossed, "I appreciate you wanting to check up, but you should be sleeping."
"I could say the same about you."
You grab a nearby matchbox and light some of the lamps in the room muttering a 'That's better' before walking towards him.
"It's not often I get to play the piano."
He turns around to face you properly and room goes silent except for the small echo bouncing off the walls. He holds out his hand towards you, "Join me?"
You smile and take his hand while sitting next to him. One of your hand positions itself on the keys, as one of Ayato's plays for your other hand.
"It's been so long since I've played the piano as well, the violin really caught on to me." You chuckle as you accidentally press on the wrong key, "Tomorrow....Am I going to have to dance with you?"
"Of course love, we will be the ones to open the Waltz to other guests," he turns to look at your slightly frightened face, "Nervous?"
"Kind of, first ones means I can't even see other people do it." You stopped playing and sighed as your head flung backwards.
Ayato hummed, he got off the bench and created a water clone. You looked at him doing so and wondered what it was for as you touched it and admired every detail. You wiped your finger on your clothes as you got up and stood next to Ayato.
"What's this for?"
"So that it can play while we practice."
You looked at him in shock, "It can play?"
Ayato chuckles in response taking your hand in his and taking you to the middle of the floor, "It can do whatever I want it to do." He winks.
Not thinking much of it, you put your hand on his shoulder as he puts his on your waist.
"Now my love, you do remember the steps for the melodies, right?"
You nod and take a small step to the left as Ayato does the same. The water clone plays another key, and the two of you step to the right this time while twirling around. You did your best not to fall or to look down to see what you were doing, and Ayato did his best to keep you from stepping on his feet.
The sound of flames flickering going along with the piano echoed in the large ballroom. There were some crickets heard in the distance, but they were mostly covered up by the tapping of shoes on the marble floor. You looked at the water clone, and it looked glamorous. The translucent blue sparkling as you could see flames through it. And the fact it looked like Ayato made it look even more beguiling, every detail was caught on it.
After getting the hang of it, you relaxed and let your shoulders down as your leaned your head on Ayato's chest. He felt you smiling, and smiled back at you when you looked up at him. He let go of your hand and wrapped his around your waist and you wind yours around his neck.
"You'll be excellent tomorrow love, you're always excellent." He whispers in your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
You kissed the back of his hand, telling him you acknowledged his words and appreciated them as the two of you waltzed the night away.

"Now I'm wondering what you were so nervous about." Ayato whispered so that you would be the only one to hear.
Your gown swayed in the room as others watched in awe and talked to each other about you and him. You stared into his marvelous eyes as he did the gesture back.
"It's all thanks to you last night."
He kissed your forehead, earning some 'Aww' from the crowd. Your mind went to last night when he winked at you about the water clone, and you face turned a furious red when you realized what that was for. Ayato smirked when he saw you reaction and when you looked up at him with slightly wide eyes, before smirking back.
"So what else can that clone of yours do?" You spoke softly as your dance nearly came to an end.
"I'll show you later, my love." •───────•°•❀•°•───────• . . .
