It happened... Again.

"You've got to be kidding me..." You breathed under your nose, bringing the cup of coffee closer to your face and taking a sip.

You live in a flat that was placed across the street from another building, and coincidentally the other flat had exactly your windows placement. And they were big windows, several big windows. So you can see into every nook and cranny of the other house and it can see into yours.

I didn't think about that when renting this place, you thought to yourself.

You both are up at 3 am, the only residents that have their bright kitchen lights on. You can see into this stranger man’s kitchen, and he can see into yours. That is, if he wanted to. He seemed to be extremely stressed out, seeing on his island what seemed like blueprints he was going over.

This exact scenario happened just a week ago, where you were getting coffee sitting on your granite island while working and saw him at the same time.
You responded by running off to your room and closing all the lights in your house.

He didnt seem too old, maybe still in college but in his final year. Definitely  an architect major.
He took small sips of his coffee while furiously using the eraser at the end of his pencil, almost using it up. Holding his head up while pushing his hair back out of his face.

He had ridiculously gorgeous blonde hair. Better than yours could ever be, and he probably didn't even use all the haircare products you do.
And you could see from the angle you were sitting at that he had just as gorgeous eyes. He looked like an absolute model, and if you didn't know any better you would thought he was a model.

You watched him sip on his drink, not sparing you a glance.

...

Oh my god, what the hell am I doing!

I'm spying on this poor guy while he's probably working on his final.

Even if you were an ambivert and weren't afraid to start a conversation, you weren't one who interacted with your brand new neighbours at 3 am while they working, but that sluggish feeling in the back of your mind as the caffeine reached your brain did something to you.

You raised on arm, holding the cup with one hand and waved to him, stopping midway when you saw another guy walk in.
This one had silver hair and wore nothing but trousers as he walked through the kitchen. You saw his mouth move the slightest, he probably said something that grabbed the blondes attention.

Thats probably his roommate, you put your arm down.

The silver-haired guy looked down at the blondes blue-prints. He seemed to be humming, then walked towards a cabinet saying something.

"You little!"

The blonde screamed loud enough that you heard it through two layers of thick glass and a distance. It shocked you. You flinched backwards, almost dropping your cup.
He threw his pencil at the silver-haired guy, quickly running after it though and seemed to be groaning when he saw he broke it.

The silver-haired was leaving the kitchen, quickly nodding at your window however and looking straight at you.

Oh shit!

You brought your legs closer you, hiding your face with the cup and trying to look away. The blonde looked confused than looked at your window, a light pink spreading on his cheeks as he saw you.

What do I do now?? These people probably think I'm spying on them!

You refused to give yourself any time to answer your own question as he gave him a little wave, blushing behind your cup.

He stared at you for what seemed like centuries, before he let out what seemed like a hearty laugh and finally waved back, dropping his pencil on the island. You brought your cup down lower, showing your face a little. A smile grew on your face.

He scrambled to find something, reaching for the cup and raising it in the air as if he was toasting to something. You did the same, laughing a little.

To your surprise, he strolled towards the window. You shot up to do the same and soon enough saw each others figures clearly. He was slightly taller than you and was even more attractive when you saw him closer up.

He took his phone out his pocket suddenly and pointed towards it, pressing it against the window.

Hm? OH!

You quickly grabbed your phone from the island, and turned on AirDrop, praying to yourself that he had an iPhone too and that you weren't making a joke of yourself to such a cute guy.

You looked up at him again, raising your phone in the air. You could make out a small smile on his face.

Ping!

Your eyes went back to your phone and felt your cheeks heat up.

'Kaveh's iPhone' would like to share a message.

Kaveh, huh. What an interesting name, you thought to youself.

It was a phone number. Probably his. You quickly added it and showed him it. He soon started typing.

New here??

You didn't want to make an idiot out of yourself, so you stuck to a generic writing style. Not too formal, but not too friendly as well. You just got his number afterall.

Yeah
Moved in a few weeks ago

You saw him smile a little and started typing again.

Welcome
Wanna meet up? 😋
