The long hallway, lit by the setting sun. it almost looked nostalgic,
The click clacks of Cilliya's shoes echoed through the quiet hallway void of any life whatsoever. Cilliya could not help but wonder what Luxia had been doing from the time she left the palace. As she glanced to her side, the long streets of eulithia. Its gray dark bricks looked as ominous as the day she lost her beloved. She clasped her hands together and let out a deep sigh. "She is probably doing business as usual she is the king's daughter after all"
Cilliya thought, chuckling a little as she picked at her hands. Inside feeling overwhelmingly anxious yet calm at the same time. "Don't worry your ok"
She said to herself quietly. Trying to calm herself down. Suddenly as she looked up she saw that the treasure room door was left half open. The dark room looked empty. As if Lanei never entered it. Yet that was impossible, she thought. If lanei had not entered the room then who did?. Walking cautiously towards the door. Putting the palms of her hands out in front of her as she halfly closes her dark brown eyes. Expecting a rodent or a thief to come out and attack her. Yet when she pushed the door. Silently enough to not cause a disturbance, she found nothing. No one. Sighing in relief she let her hands fall down next to her waist and looked around. The window blinds were closed neatly to prevent any dust from getting on the glass display cases. But it was useless because the dust still gathered on the glass. "Lanei? Are you here?" cilliya asked. Walking slowly towards the middle of the room, leaning slightly forward as she rested her hands on her back like an old lady. Void... it was as silent as an empty desolate house.
Then she noticed a white blanket wrapped around the glass display case that was set in the middle of the room. She could only see a small piece of the object. It looked metal. Old metal. Walking towards it she grabbed the blanket and tossed it aside revealing a long large great sword. It had a bright metal body with scratches on the side. The handle had golden wings of gold encased on it. Cilliya stood amazed as she saw the one and only gritzalif. The old script seen on the doors of the grand royal palace stood yet again familiar with Cilliya. This time it had a different order. Yet Cilliya could not decipher it fully. But she knew full well that this was the one that made the lieder family vanish. Up until today Cilliya only knew the gritzalif by reading old history books and legends. "So this is where you were laid."
She said, amazed. "Cilliya?" Cilliya jumped as she suddenly heard a young voice behind her back. Almost breaking the glass that the sword was encased in. "oh! Where did you come from?" Cilliya said as she stood up again. Stroking her black hair back looking down towards the young girl who stood in front of her. Her pigtails swayed as she rested her arms on her back. "I was just done with cleaning the storage room!" she said. Sounding as if she had one a duel with swords against a eulithian knight. Proud of herself doing a good deed. "Wow, good job!" cilliya said as she put her hand on the back lanei. Patting her a few times before directing her towards the door. "You did not break anything right?" cilliya asked curiously. Obviously because if she did break something it would mean that she needed to pay a huge price to redeem herself. "No I did not, I promise." Lanei said, glancing back at the dark room they were leaving. Cilliya could feel that Lanei was not entirely honest with her but she brushed it off as just an innocent kid trying her best. Grabbing her hand in the process as they walked back to the kitchen. "So? How did it go?" Zelana asked curiously as she got on eye level with Lanei kneeling down in the process. "Good! It went like butter!"
Lanei said, putting her hands in the air as a celebration. "I'm glad"
Zelana said. As they all returned to cooking the diner Cilliya lanei and Zelana could hear the front door open. The loud door hitting the wall echoed through the halls. Again thinking it was an attack. Cilliya grabbed one of the knives while Zelana held lanei close to her side. Approaching the balcony on the second floor in front of the palace entrance Cilliya lowered her guard and sighed in relief as she saw that Luxia came back. She looked exhausted and hungry. As she leaned her elbows on the railings watching luxia hand over the acquired assortiments she brought to one of the knights she suddenly noticed that Veranos was nowhere to be seen. Could he be in the garden? Sitting next to Elisia? Or could he be drinking wine?. No that could not be it, Cilliya thought. Clearly he had gone with her in the morning so he surely would have come back right? Pondering where he went. Luxia noticed her above gazing into the dark night, her black ponytail waving through as she lightly shook her head. "Cilliya! Luxia said loudly. Waving her hello as Cilliya looked at her. She waved back. As her smile widens like a small child. "Good evening lady kreinheard! I hope your day went as you had hoped. Seeing you are quite exhausted I should say that you should get some rest." Cilliya said as she bowed her hello back "oh that's ok. But I would like to have dinner first if i may" luxia replied as her stomach growled slightly. "That is ok i will have your dinner ready in a few minutes but before then please take a seat at the dining hall" Cilliya said proudly as she pointed her index finger towards the long hallway leading towards the dining hall. "Thank you!" Luxia replied. Smiling as waved Cilliya goodbye again. Dismissing the men and closing the doors before proceeding to the room.
"How did she manage to lead the jormungers?" Cilliya thought as she walked back to the kitchen. "Jormungers only follow the lead either by one of the chairmen or the king himself. How did she do it?" Cilliya thought to herself again scratching her chin even though she had no visible beard.
But then again she also suddenly noticed that the king was not around either today. Did they all have a meeting? Was there an important event she missed? No, it's impossible maidens are not allowed to leave for such inconveniences. "I will ask her at the dining table" she said quietly as she put her shoulders back and put her chin up like a real lady.
Walking through the wooden door she saw that Zelana and Lanei had cramped themself in a small hidden space. Scared of anything that could hurt them. She could see that Zelana was holding onto Lanei tightly before Cilliya stepped towards them and kneeled down and said. "It's a false alarm, it's just lady kreinheard arriving" Cilliya said. Zelana looked up and was relieved at the sight of Cilliya's smooth face. Before she arrived she thought she had been killed by thieves or assassins but luckily it didn't happen.
As they all stood up Zelana put her hand on her head and said. "Wait. Did you only mention lady kreinheard?" "Yes, I suppose so," Cilliya said, scratching her head. "But I was also wondering where not only sir greand, but where the king went also." Cilliya said. "Strange. Seeing that Elisia was the only one present at the palace." as they all pondered in confusion. Thinking of a good reason why they were not back. Lanei suddenly grabbed onto Zelanas dress and asked. "Is the king's daughter not waiting for a diner?. She must be starving." Zelena's and Cilliya's eyes widened as they were in their thoughts for thirty minutes straight, forgetting that they had one last chore to do. Grabbing quickly all the ingredients and spices Lanei asked Cilliya to announce to Lady kreinheard if she could notify her of the little delay. As Cilliya nodded yes in approval while she was cooking a lovely delightful soup, lanei ran through the wooden door right to the grand dining hall. Stepping through the large door. Struggling to get it open she saw that Luxia was staring at her reflection on the fork. Spinning it around occasionally. "Lady kreinheard? I'm sorry to announce but dinner will be a little late" lanei. Closing her eyes. Expecting a mad crazed princess stepping out of her seat and hitting her. But suddenly she was met by the sweet lovely voice of the young lady. Saying "that's ok. Don't worry i'm not mad" Lanei relieved of the calm composure of luxia smiled as she bowed and ran back towards the kitchen. Her pigtails swayed as she ran.
*bonk!* as Cilliya and zelana stood confused by the loud thump on the door Cilliya laid her spoon down and walked towards the door. As she opened it she was met by the slightly unconscious Lanei who laid on the floor. "Is she dead?" Zelana said jokingly while tasting if the soup was bitter or not. "I better watch out if I were you. Who knows i put a little too much salt on it"
Cilliya said as she picked up Lanei cradling in her arms. "Well it seems about right. But it's better if we serve it now." zelana said as she licked her spoon clean. Wiping off the remaining soup on the sides of her mouth.
"Let me try it first." amazed by the delightful taste of the perfectly harmonized salt sugar and pepper mixed with vegetables, she nodded and picked up one of the ceramic plates on the counter.
"Here is your dinner for tonight lady kreinheard" Cilliya said as she put down the steaming hot plate in front of luxia. Amazed by the aroma of the soup she quickly sipped a little from the soup. Cilliya could see that it was doing wonders and that Luxia was satisfied with the dinner. But the questions she had were still lingering around in her mind. "Lady kreinheard?" Cilliya said. Luxia looked towards Cilliya. Putting down her spoon and saying. "What is the matter?" Cilliya stepped forward a little as she rested her hand above the other "seeing that the king and sir greand are not present at tonight's dinner i wanted to ask if you had seen them?
"I did... they went with me.. Wait, I will tell you when we are done with this amazing soup!. It's astronomical!" luxia said as she began eating the soup.
Cilliya nodded in agreement. Cilliya felt proud of herself seeing that luxia enjoyed her cooking. But still.. "Where were they?"
