*swing* *clang*. As the metal sparks fly through the air, the blades of the steel swords, clashing together with utmost force. The two knights , both battling, like there was no tomorrow. fighting with determination as Veranos and the king watched in the distance. Both sitting comfortably on the white garden chair outside the big gray walls that surrounded eulithia, covered by the big umbrella that shielded the scorching hot sun. Sliced pieces of grass flying through the air as one of the knights overpowered the other. Forcing the knight to walk back. Struggling to overcome the immense pressure that was laid onto the blade. Suddenly the knight who was forcing his weight onto the sword released pressure. Causing the other to fall on his back. As the knight walked over to the now helpless knight, Begging for mercy,as the knight pointed his sword towards his face, he could only stare helplessly as the knight raised his sword above his head. The knight closed his eyes, awaiting his demise, suddenly, before the knight could defeat the other, Veranos put his hand in the air and commanded "HALT! THAT WILL BE ENOUGH" pointing the knight towards his station.
The fallen Jormunger slightly opened his eyes. Confused by seeing the other knight, dropping his sword on the ground and offered his hand towards him The once right to his face sword now resting amongst the tall meadow, he sighed in relief, feeling thankful to Veranos for saving his life.as he stood up holding one hand to the other, his right hand using the handle of the sword as leverage.the knights stared at each other for a few seconds, Without saying a word they both bowed and walked towards their station as Veranos stared, admiring the dignity of both knights.
"That was quite the performance wasn't it?" Veranos asked. As he glanced towards the king who was sitting in the white garden chair. Scratching his beard. "I liked how even though the knight had the sovereignty to defeat the fallen knight who was defenseless he still had the tenacity to lower his sword." the king said while thinking deeply. Debating on what to do next.
Veranos nodded and sighed. Picking up his fourth glass of red wine.
As he sipped the deep crimson red liquid, an idea came to his mind
"What if we let the knights use those sacred swords made by the ancients?"
The king scoffed as he thought the idea was ridiculous. "How would you acquire those swords? The blacksmith that made them died a long time ago. Along with that forsaken kingdom."
" Veranos realized that what the king had just said was true. The sacred swords, made by the blacksmith that was called siegler, had died when the forgotten kingdom of yunithu was destroyed by the attacks of a pack of wild xios's. They were as big as a grendal. Their lust for hunger was immense. Tearing people apart from limb to limb. Their spikes, all lined up perfectly along their spine as their red eyes pierced through that forsaken night as they destroyed yunithu in just a matter of hours, the last thing the people saw were masses of xios's running out from the forest "Or that is what legends say"
"Your right it was not a very vacuous idea" veranos said as he took another sip from his crimson red wine. coughing a little as a droplet went down the airpipe. The king stood up and put his hand on his back. Stretching it until the king sighed loudly "i'm getting old" the king said. His once youthful face had turned into a wrinkled mess as the time went by.
"I can see." Veranos said. Trying to sympathize with the king. The king looked towards the camp in the distance. White tents laid out in rows, Filled with Jormungers. All wielding longswords. The prominent golden bordures of stars and flowers. Carved into the armor itself. The king sighed deeply. Realizing that soon enough he had to pass over his kingdom to his next lineage. Yet he had no living relative to pass it over to. "Could you do me a favor?" the king asked. Glancing back at veranos. "Be my guest!" Veranos said as he clasped both of his hands together and leaned slightly forward. Eager to hear the king's request.
