As they traversed to rocky roads beside the mountain. Luxia gazed at the icy mountain tops above. Falcons were flying above in an almost circular pattern. Traversing from one side to the other as the leader changed its course. The carriage still lingered with the overwhelming silence as Luxia moved her gaze towards the old lady. Her bright blue eyes, glinting as the lake below reflected the rays of the setting sun. staring at her stark white hair, she could not help but feel a sense of resemblance. "We are almost there" the lady said as she fixed her eyes onto luxia's hazel eyes. She nodded and smiled slightly, deep inside. She wanted to ask if she knew her mom. But the thought of her mother only made her feel worse. Biting her lip

She stared back, realizing that they were now entering a thick dark forest at the end of the mountain's edge.beside the paved gravel road stood oil lamps, every 5th step stood one which lit up the path towards the house.

She could see bugs and critters flying mindlessly around the luminated glass, blinded by the bright light it emitted. The forest felt as if around every tree stood a man, waiting to lunge at them with bloodlust, "stop overthinking" , Luxia said quietly to herself. "Hm?" the woman said.

"Oh it's nothing," Luxia replied. Awkwardly fringing with her fingers as anxiety started to creep in. in her mind she told herself " 1....2....3..you're okay don't worry" reassuring herself before taking a deep breath and exhaling it. "I'm sorry for what happened to your family.. I can't even imagine what you had to go through" the woman said to luxia, luxia could feel in the woman's tone that she really meant it. Her shaky and soft voice

Calmed Luxia down, knowing that the woman was able to comprehend feelings. "It's okay" is all she could say, not wanting to go into full detail, knowing full well it would begin to haunt her yet again. "We have almost arrived" the courier said, his low deft tone surprised luxia slightly, seeing that the courier looked like in his twenties the woman nodded, luxia could see the faint outline of what looked like to be a large house accompanied by a glass garden beside it. Flowers of all kinds started to appear the closer they got. Luxia felt a strong sense to jump out and sit beside them, yet she did not. Afraid of the woman getting frustrated at her. "Only Veranos would understand," she whispered. "I heard the king has disappeared, no?" the woman asked politely. Luxia looked up in confusion. "I can't recall him leaving the palace ever since I fell asleep." she replied,

"Why do you ask?" she said. Eagerly wanting to know what she meant with it. "Well since the kingdom was attacked. There was no sign of the chairmen or the king himself. Some might even speculate that the king was the one who kidnapped children'' the woman said. Hypothesizing whether it was true or not. "The king would not do that, would he?" Luxia replied. "There is a saying that those who smile the brightest. Hides the darkest secret." "But that is only speculative," Luxia replied, remembering what veranos had told her. "Might be. But it is a possibility" the lingering unease left the carriage as they both became a bit more comfortable with each other. Both feeling more mutual then they had met. "Oh before we arrive.

There is a garden which I take care of often, and there is also a library. So there is enough for you to learn, '' the woman said. Smiling as she looked towards luxia's attentive eyes. The faint silhouette of the house grew larger the closer they got, she could see a man wearing formal attire, waiting patiently as they arrived. His partially bald head reflected the rising moon in the distance. "Ah miss zovunda!. You have safely arrived!. And who is that youngster next to you" said the man as they both stepped out of the carriage in front of the large metal gate. The man glanced towards Luxia as he smiled eerily towards her. "This is luxia kreinheard. Former princess of the fallen kingdom fronerair. Treat her with respect if you may '' the woman said while putting her arm in front of luxia's body. The man nodded politely as he guided them towards the front entrance of the house. The gate screeched as its corroded metal scraped across the stone walkway below. The front garden was filled with all kinds of plants and flora. Ranging from a wide range of colors. Luxia was quickly filled with overwhelming amazement as they walked further. Observing the garden. She saw a large glass greenhouse on her left. The glass was filled with moist water particles, noticing the condensed glass within. "That is the garden I was talking about, you can often find me there," the woman said. Glancing back at luxia who was gazing towards the greenhouse. Glancing back at the woman who held out her hand, she noticed a large tower upfront. Above stood a glass dome, within she could see someone looking out from an old telescope. Large collections of cogs and gears clicked as he looked further up. "Come, I have a lot to show you," the woman said. Her comforting voice made Luxia smile slightly before nodding and following her inside.
