"FIRE!" one of the men shouted as he ordered his men to charge, a hail of arrows flew through the sky while a white piercing burst of energy discharged from the rows of catalysts lined in front of the wall. Zelana came running out of the woods. Gasping for air as she slowly came to a stop. Her metal armor clanged as it stomped on the wet soil. "Fire!" one of the men shouted as another burst of energy discharged from the catalyst's hands zelana covered her face with her arm as the light pierced the dark gray sky. "What is going on?" Zelana thought as she ran towards one of the commanders. As he was once again pointing at the enemy, he looked towards his left. His eyes widened as he saw Zelana running towards him on the unpaved road, although his view was limited due to the singular slit running side to side on his helmet, he instantly realized that zelana was not running away from something. Yet she had fought someone, seeing the blood splatter on her armor which ran from her abdomen to her chest. "Zelana! We are under heavy attack!" the commander said as he pointed towards the mountain. Zelana stared at the giant mountain top in the distance. "By what?" she asked. Confused. Then all of a sudden. The peak of the mountain top bursted outwards. Pieces of heavy solid rock flew upwards into the dark gray sky. Flames bursting out as the head of a giant creature emerged from within the mountain itself. Zelana's eyes widened in horror as the creature opened its mouth. Roaring. Its roar was so deafening that all the knights covered their ears, protecting their hearing.

"Zelana!" behind the ear deafening roar she heard a familiar voice. Turning around to see who was calling her, she saw Veranos. His clothes all tattered as blood spilt out of his deep cuts. It looked like he had been stabbed or sliced by a sharp dagger. "I will tell you everything after we defeated this thing." Veranos's expression perplexed Zelana a little, his sweat was dripping down his head as she could see the urgency in his eyes. She nodded and grabbed her bow from her back. Turning back around to face the creature. The flaming hot rocks fell down onto the burning meadow as it roared again. This time fully emerging from the mountain. Completely leveling it with the ground while it unfolded its wings. "How can we possibly kill this monster? It's too massive!" Zelana said as she gazed at its immense size. It roared as its wings flapped loudly. Swaying the meadow towards the opposite direction. She gulped as she was at a loss for words. Frozen as a statue. Suddenly she felt a tap on her shoulder. She glanced back and saw Veranos, he was grinning. "Don't worry. we have a set plan." he said as he turned around to face a large mass of knights, archers and catalysts. "My fellow men! Before us stands a being, powerful enough to make divinos kneel and give over its power. Powerful enough to level eulitihia to the ground. But we won't allow that and we won't let it purge our families and children, men and women, catalysts and archers. Before us stands a foe which we have never fought before ever since its slumber. Now it is our time to avenge those who were killed by his wrath.. FIRE!" a large mass of bursts appeared and pierced the creature's skin as a rain of arrows hit its scaly armor. It roared in pain as the arrows pierced its skin. Large illuminating pentagrams appeared in the sky as the catalysts chanted a spell "those who threaten our safety. Will be killed without mercy, as they have violated the immortal goddess her law of freedom, may they die in agony." beams of light bursted out of the pentagrams in the sky, piercing the creature once more while it roared in vain. Zelana charged her bow as she closed her eyes. "May the lords stand beside me" she released the arrow with a swift motion. Aiming it just before the creatures head. Before it hit, the arrow replicated itself and turned into flame as it pierced its mouth. Gradually the creature lost its altitude before it fell down to the ground. Again the catalysts charged their attacks and released piercing white bursts of light. They all cheered, thinking they had defeated the enemy. All were raising their bow books. But Zelana could feel something was off. The creature felt too lively to be dead. Sure enough the creature opened its eyes. Its eyes had turned into pure bright orange as it opened its mouth, revealing a blinding white glow. "Dodge!" the commander yelled before being burned to ashes as the creature released a burst of flame. All looked towards the burned ashes of what used to be the commander's body. Their horrifying gaze catched the creature's attention as it charged for a second burst "now!" all the catalysts chanted a new spell as the light within the creature's slimy mouth brightened. But before it could let out another burst, it was hit by a hail of hell arrows From the sky. Roaring yet again it flew up into the sky as it disappeared into the gray thick clouds. But before they could celebrate, the creature pounded into one of the neighboring houses within the kingdom. Killing its inhabitants instantly. Zelana could hear one of the knights cry out as he watched his whole family die. Veranos gritted his teeth "as long as he does not come an inch near luxia." "men whatever you do. Keep it away from the buildings and the royal palace." he yelled as he ordered his men to go inside the kingdom. Zelana followed. Grabbing a sword in the process as she ran inside. As she ran through the streets she could hear the creature's wings flapping. "There!" one of the knights said. One catalyst who followed grabbed out her book again as she chanted. "May those who threaten our safety die in agony!" a blinding pentagram appeared above the sky. Illuminating the overpassing bridge above. But before it could hit the creature in its head, it hit the bridge, causing it to fall over and block the passage in front of them. "Here!" Veranos said as he pointed into the alley next to them. The creature roared as it passed once again above them. Causing rubble to fall down as it hit the light poles on the bridges. "Enough of this" Zelana said silently as she grabbed her sword. causing it to turn into a bright orange flame. "Where are you going?" Veranos asked while watching Zelana run away from them walking up into one of the connecting towers to the bridge above. "There you are." she said. Wiping away her sweat. The creature roared as it charged down towards her. Instead of dodging its attack. She ran towards it. Screaming as she wielded her sword towards her right hip. Screaming "not on my watch!" Veranos closed one eye as he watched her run towards the giant creature. Expecting her to die in a swift motion. But he stood still. Seeing Zelana slice through its neck, making it bleed as the flaming sword burned its skin. Zelana ran along the bridge as the creature turned around to chase her. Making parts of the bridge fall apart as it roared. It opened its mouth, trying to charge. "Here you are" she said as she turned around to face the creature. Not yielding.

She chuckled a little as she dropped her sword and grabbed her bow from her back. Charging her shot right into the creature's blinding mouth. Just before it could devour her whole she released the arrow. It once again replicated and gave off a piercing purple light. Piercing the creature's throat. It lifted its head up as it cried out in agony. Zelana watched as it dropped down and fell onto the bridge. Making the bridge crumble and fall down onto the street. Zelana did not move an inch as she watched the creature flatten a row of buildings to the ground. "We warned you" she said, watching it take its last breath before going limp. As pieces of debri fell down onto the creature's thick scales she heard multiple men running towards her direction. Wiping the sweat from her face, she turned and drawed her bow. Awaiting another attack. But she sighed after noticing it was just veranos and a few of the jormungers tailing behind him. Some were limping as they grunted out of pain. "Zelana! Are you hurt?" Veranos asked. She chuckled silently while dropping her bow to her side. "Seems like the beast has been defeated." she said, glancing slightly back at its eyes. Devoid of any life. "The ancient guardian of the mountains. Once thought to have been defeated, yet it was only in slumber before its arise"

She said as she recognized what the creature's origin was. "Novak... dragon of the mountains. Feared by its power. Once roamed Rosseuxus for thousands of millenia before finally being slain by a brave knight, but the tales could not have been more wrong." she said as she scoffed and looked back at veranos. Slightly glancing at his slightly torn white suit. "I see you have been in quite the battle" "I thought you already noticed."

Veranos said as he tried to talk it off.. Suddenly the sky grew dark as night fell. Shining the bright moonlight upon them. "We should head back to the palace.." she nodded, remembering Cilliya's condition and luxia and lanei.

All three are vulnerable to a sudden attack. But before they could order the men to clean up the mess, the bridge to the palace blew up with immense force. Making it fall into the deep dark water below. Cutting of the only access to the palace. Zelana and Veranos both stood frozen. Staring at the crumbling pieces of bricks falling down below. "Intruders." she said silently. Her voice slightly shivered as she was unable to save them. As they continued on to stare at the now nonexistent bridge. A soft but stern voice whispered in her ear. "Hope is all but lost. The strength you have will suffice to help those in need" Zelana quickly glanced back. Trying to identify who it was. Yet she was unable to as the person she heard disappeared. Glancing towards the men who were helping each other treat their wounds. She knew that it was hopeless to ask any of them if they saw who it was. Looking back towards veranos, she noticed his veiny hand gripping tighter onto the handle of the sword. Noticing his frown as his anger grew by each ticking second. "No one dares to hurt luxia." he screamed, but before Zelana could intervene he ran off towards the direction of the bridge. Disappearing like a ghost in ink.
