As the metal plates of the knight clanked with each step he took. Echoing through the long halls of the palace. He took a few deep breaths as he struggled to carry the heavy basket towards the kitchen. Even though the route to the kitchen was not that long, for him it felt like hours. Cilliya looked at him. His heavy breaths, loud enough for it to be heard miles away, concerning Cilliya slightly. Thinking of wanting to say something to the tall and muscular man, yet chose to keep her lips shut, not wanting him to stress even more because of his profession. Jormungers were quite the profession, either you had to sacrifice your whole life for it or you were chosen by luck by the goddess herself, though being chosen by the goddess herself were very slim. Cilliya smiled before looking back towards the long hallway in front of her. Her black ponytail bobbed up and down with every step she took. "Please put it down over here" Zelana said as she pointed to one of the empty wooden table tops. The knight nodded and proceeded to put the heavy basket down. Sounding a large thump as it hit the wooden frame. "Thank you. Your service has been a pleasure" Cilliya said as she gave the knight a comforting smile. Reassuring the knight as his stress disappeared. Cilliya sighed as she wiped away the sweat from her forehead before saying "that was quite the trip wasn't it?" Zelana put her hands on her hips as she looked down and said "yeah. Honestly I would've wanted them to be more.... A bit normal.. The stuff we were given was quite the deviation." Zelana said, looking out towards the window. "Oh yeah that sword we were given.. I should place it in the treasure room." Cilliya said, suddenly remembering the sword she got from the old blacksmith. "Yes, I think that is a splendid idea." Zelana said as she looked towards the large iron ingot. "Though I do ask why that woman offered us an iron ingot.."
Zelana said as Cilliya picked up the long sword.
As Cilliya walked towards the now closed door. Within lying the legendary sword of the lieder family. She noticed a dark purple substance leaking out of the door. Confused by the weird liquid she opened the door as she rested the sword on her shoulder. The knob struggled to turn. It eventually opened.
While she was observing the room where this liquid came from. She noticed a dark purple trail that veered off into a locked door. She put down the sword and rested it against the white wall. As she followed the trail she remembered that Lanei had not been quite honest with her when she had asked if she did not break anything. Pondering if her surmise was wrong or not, she opened the door. Her eyes widened as a bottle that contained the liquid was laying on the floor. Glass shards covering the woolen mat. As she looked for further damage she saw that the glass box that once contained this very bottle had been broken. Revealing a huge hole. "This could have not been lanei" Cilliya thought. The hole was too big for lanei's hand to compare. The force that would have been needed to break the case open would be the equivalent of a large metal ax slicing through 6 layers of steel.
Frantically looking around for a solution. Looking for anything to come up with. "Yes. a towel should work.." Cilliya said as she ran back out of the room. The wooden door flew open as Cilliya came in. frantically looking for a cloth or a towel to clean up the substance. Zelana stared at Cilliya. Confused at Cilliya's seemingly frantic behavior. But before she could ask anything Cilliya grabbed one of the wet towels that was laid over the rack and ran back out of the room before saying anything.
As she came back to the room she could see that the substance had traversed further into the hall. Getting down on her knees she cleaned up the mess before it could spread even further. Suddenly she felt a painful sting running through her arm. It felt as if a karambit had sliced through her hand and was traveling up her arm into her body. She fell back grabbing her arm tightly. Suddenly the pain faded as she released pressure on her arm.
"What was that?" she said as she looked back towards the purple liquid.
"I still have to clean that up though." Cilliya thought as she got back on her feet and wiped away the substance. This time she did not feel a sting as she put her hands on the wet towel. "Done," cilliya said silently as she clapped her hands and wrapped the towel on her shoulder, picking up the broken bottle and wiping away the glass shards with a straw brush. Looking back at the sword that was still resting against the wall. She looked around for an empty case, then as she glanced over to the window on the left she saw an empty case which had not been occupied yet. "Great!" Cilliya thought as she walked over to the sword and picked it up. Carefully carrying it to the case before laying it down yet again against the wooden base.
