Death. As ominous as it sounds. It can be very pleasing for some..relieving themselves of the immense pressure society gives. Expecting you to be a normal excellent citizen. Often doing more than what's best.. Not realizing until fate has been met.. That's how it often goes. And sadly there is no end to it. Only those who know what's important are the ones who are the most precious..
As the wooden heels of the black waxed polished heels clacked on the white tiles of the long hallway Luxia arrived at the garden's entrance door. Luxia opened the door. Its partially rotten wooden base preventing luxia from entering the garden slightly until it gave away when luxia put more pressure into it. Almost tripping, Luxia regained her footing and successfully opened the door. Its piercing light brightening up the dark hallway and blinding luxia slightly. "Lady kreinheard!. I'm glad you arrived! Took longer than I had honestly expected. Did something get in the way before you arrived?" Cilliya said, confused but glad that luxia could arrive. Even if it was a short distance from where they ended the tour. The rustling of the cold wind silenced them for a bit before cilliya continued again and said. "Do you know why I invited you here?." her cold bitter tone. Biting through the calm atmosphere as her long black ponytail flowed with the wind "no i do not know why you invited me here". Luxia said. Confused about Cilliya's behavior. She seems on one side calm and collected but whenever you pass something which might indicate either a danger or a warning her bright happy youthful face turns into a cold bitter hard woman. "Do you see that? In the distance?" Cilliya said as she pointed her finger over towards the bustling streets of eulithia. People selling fish and meat. Kids running and playing wherever they can... "eulithia can be beautiful. But it has a lot of dark secrets that have yet to be uncovered.. Not all who might seem innocent are innocent. Those who deceive are always met with equal force."
Cilliya said. Her tone almost sounded menacing. Gritting her teeth clenching her first as she looked back at luxia. "Why?" Luxia asked. "Because I lost someone close to me to someone I trusted. That's why. So please. Whenever you feel like you want to do something. Please go with either your guardian or me. Eulithia can be dangerous if you're not careful." cilliya said. Her face was emotionless yet one teardrop ran over her cheeks revealing that she was regretting that fateful decision . Luxia feeling empathetic walked over to her and wrapped her arms around cilliya's skinny waist. "Don't worry. I shall not deceive you nor do any harm to you." luxia said. Reassuring Cilliya and hugging her more tightly as more tears fell from her eyes. Slowly patting her head, Cilliya looked up towards the shining hazel eyes of luxia. Feeling relieved cilliya wiped away her tears and said. "Thank you.. For doing this. Normally I would not have the time or energy to do this since I'm a maiden after all and was thought only to serve and obey orders made by the people who hire maidens." cilliya said. "You only have to obey if the person treats you right. Even if you're a maiden you're still a human. And human feelings are what matters the most. To me atleast." luxia said smiling and gazing at the large tree beside her in the distance.
Walking through the halls again thinking about what Cilliya said after she waved her goodbye, Luxia saw Elisia in the stable. Brushing his large horse, caringly patting the horse and giving him occasional carrots, "right i totally forgot about him." walking over to elisia feeling bad about forgetting him even though she knew him for more than 5 years luxia suddenly saw one of the maidens. A young girl. Happily swaying her feet as she admired the precious work Elisia did. Her brown pigtails swayed back and forth as she smiled and asked. "How long did you take care of this horse?" "He is not called 'horse' , young lady. His name is griar. Almost like grrr!" Elisia said as he held up his hand jokingly clawing in the air like a bear. The girl laughed and asked again. "Why does griar have so much armor? Doesn't that hurt him? All that silver.." as the young girl glanced towards the heavy armor laid down beside the wooden wall, its shining armor reflecting off the light of the oil lamp above it. "Well you can never be careful. Unlike you who 'accidentally dropped all my stuff'" elisia said. Toying with the young girl. "I did not drop it on purpose i swear!. I lanei never do such vigorous acts hmpf.!" Lanei said as she crossed her arms in protest. Puffing up her face.
" yeah yeah sure" elisia said as he chuckled. "Seems like he is already occupied. I will talk to him later. Luxia said. Smiling as elisia and lanei joked around. As she walked back to her room she suddenly met the king. Shocked by the unexpected meeting the king smiled a little to ease up the scare that they both felt. "My king! It's a pleasure to meet you! I did not expect you to be here at this hour." luxia said as she awkwardly tried to bow. Almost falling again. "My dear you don't have to bow for me. Your the daughter of the king of eatheria.i see you have a made quite a bond with cilliya already as i saw you and cilliya hugging in the garden." feeling embarrassed that someone saw them, luxia tried to play it off and said. "It was nothing sir! I just.. She just..." frantically trying to find a viable lie the king places his large hairy hand on luxia's shoulder and said. "My dear. You don't have to play it off as if you were not allowed too. I'm glad that she was able to find relief with your presence. That's all that matters right?." The king gave off a slight smile as he removed his hand from luxias shoulder and hid it under his huge fur coat. "I hope you will have a great time until you can find somewhere to stay permanently.. Your free to live in eulithia too if you want?. But i think sir greand is in charge of that seeming that you are more on the younger side. Well. I have to go now. I have a meeting with one of the chairmen again." said the king as he walked away behind Luxia into the long hallway waving Luxia goodbye. "Sigh..that felt more intense than a battle between a yilanir in an arena as she walked towards her bedroom door dropping herself on the soft bed and slowely closing her eyes from the exhaustion of todays events.
*Tap tap tap* luxia felt a faint tap as she slumbered in her deep sleep.
*tap tap tap*. Once again she felt three faint taps on her shoulder. Thinking it might be something or someone slowly opening her eyes she saw veranos. Carefully trying to wake her. " Look, I know you had quite the experience today but I feel your stomach will be really upset if you don't sleep." veranos said as he carefully sat on the bed. Placing his hand on luxia's palm. "I see that you have become a bit more sober than when I last saw you." luxia said as she rolled on her side. Her head resting on her hand. Smiling slightly. "Well I did say that I was going to chuck a whole bottle of wine did I not? ." Veranos said as he chuckled. "But I think the king might not be very delighted seeing me drunk..." he said as he gave a slight awkward smile. Knowing deep well that by the time Veranos drank the whole bottle empty the king was there to see the whole commotion unfold.
Veranos could remember the quite unpleasant and irritated by the sight of that one last drop of wine staining Veranos his suit. "Well. I will be waiting at the dining hall with the others for you. Please do not be delinquent but do take your time to wake up." Veranos said as he stood up giving luxia a quick hand wave before leaving luxia's room. The room was dark and quiet. The moonlight shining through the window as she glanced towards her suit she put on the mannequin before she went to bed. "I slept for quite a while didn't i?" as she remembered it being in the early afternoon before she dropped herself on the bed. Walking towards the drawer that was placed in front of the bed she suddenly noticed that there was a little slice of sponge cake wrapped neatly in a paper bag tied neatly with a red bow. Underneath a note saying " thank you C. laitivande" luxia charmed by the gratitude picked up the note and said "that's what friendship is"
