Acheilla panted as she ran endlessly through the forest. Trying to find a way out, yet all she could see were endless colossal trees in front of her. Tears began falling out of her eyes as she started to hyperventilate. "Why must we always suffer?" she cried out in between heavy breaths. Suddenly she fell down onto the hard soil. Grunting in pain. She looked down at her feet which were covered in streams of blood. She cried. Wiping away the streams of tears running down her face. "Stupid people.. Always ruining the fun." standing up again.. She glanced in each direction. Trying to find a source of light. But it was all in vain as all she could see was an endless fog of darkness, as the only light which was emitted was the bright moonlight from above. Hesitating to decide which direction was the way out. She gave in. taking a deep breath before continuing to run further and further. It felt like ages before acheilla could feel the wet strands of grass brushing against her legs. "Finally" she grunted, as she looked around for her friends.. But again. Her field of view was blocked by the endless black fog in front of her. While she continued to pant out of exhaustion. She could hear a slight rustling of the wet grass behind her. Turning around to face the origin while drawing her bow. She frowned and said "one step further and I will shoot an arrow through your damn heart!"
But she was only met with a deafening silence. "I will not hesitate!" she said again. Still facing the dark edge of the forest. "Woah. calm down little girl. I am here to help." a voice said. It sounded like a young man "how do i know you're not one of them." a slight clash of metal plates filled the silent air as the man appeared from out of the forest "because if i were. I would have already killed you" acheilla's eyes widened. Realizing it was one of the jormungers from eulithia, noticing the emblem that was inlaid in his metal breastplate. "Don't be scared. I am yaslen.. One of the acquaintances of Miss Kreinheard has ordered me and a few other people to see if she is doing ok." acheilla only frowned in confusion. "I don't believe a word you are saying. Who is this acquaintance and where are my friends!" she said. Her voice shivered in fear and hatred. Yaslen kneeled down to face acheilla on eye level. "Look kid. A jormunger would never travel this far from his home kingdom under any other circumstance. But seeing that the future queen is in danger. We have to make an exception. And the reason why I am behind you was because of your very audible cries." acheilla could not utter a single word "but" "don't worry kid. She will be ok" yaslen said while patting her head. Elisia!. Take her to her friends. I will go and find Miss Kreinheard and the others. Acheilla glanced towards the direction he was facing and saw a boy with white grayish hair standing beside her friends who were all sitting next to a carriage, all shivering in front of a fireplace. "Yes sir," Elisia replied. As he walked towards them. As acheilla observed the meadow. She could see people setting up tents and giving the kids loafs of bread and fresh water out of a flask. "Come. don't worry. You will be safe with me.." Elisia said to her as he glanced towards the jormunger and nodded. Right after, yaslen began running into the dark forest in front and disappeared into the black fog. The metal armor could be heard clashing together before it dissipated into the distance while she walked towards her friends. "Are you cold?" Elisia asked. Glancing towards her bare feet covered in blood. He looked up and yelled. "Zelana! I got one that needs your attention." acheilla looked towards the direction elisia was facing and saw a maiden, her golden hair gleamed the moonlight of her head as her bangs swayed with the slight breeze. "Go towards her first. When you are done you come back to me ok?" acheilla slightly before running towards zelena who was putting down a tray of medical items. "Oh dear.. Come. let's get this treated before it gets infected." zelana said, putting her hand on acheilla's shoulder, leading her towards the wooden seat in front. "Come.. sit, don't be scared of me ok?" Zelana said. Noticing the tear stained cheeks. Acheilla slowly sat down. Grunting in pain as she put weight on her feet. Zelana grabbed a wooden chair and placed it in front of her, "you have been running for so long haven't you darling? Acheilla slightly nodded as she watched zelana placing a bandage and a bottle of clear water on top of the table next to her.. "You resemble one of my friends don't you know?" zelana said, slowly sitting down before grabbing the blood covered leg. "Happa." zelana said, trying to cheer acheilla up. She smiled slightly before glancing behind zelana. Zelana chuckled slightly. "There was once this girl who looked just like you, she was excellent at archery." zelana said while she grabbed a wet towel and padded away the blood. "She always topped her class and was once promoted to head general of the streadark archery club." zelana said, picking up the clear water. "Bite your teeth. This will sting a bit." zelana said before pouring the clear liquid on her leg and feet. Tears dropped down acheilla's face as the throbbing pain emitted from the open wounds. "There there. All done.. Only need to patch it up." Zelana said softly" "are you a jormunger too? Acheilla asked. Noticing the black armor pieces behind her.
"Was dear. I happened to change my mind mid course to be a maiden. I always loved serving other people. Even if it came at the cost of my own mental health." Zelana said while she wrapped the bandage around acheila's leg. "But do you like it?" "mhm.. Well, it depends who you are serving. But nonetheless it is an occupation I enjoy doing." Zelana said.
"Okay. patched up. Take it easy on your leg ok? It needs to gradually heal itself." acheilla nodded. "Thank you kind lady." she said. While standing up. "It's my pleasure dear." as acheilla almost walked away from the tent towards elisia. "Hey '' Zelana said. Acheilla turned around raising her brows. "What is your name?" "acheilla briess." Zelana smiled widely "you two really are alike." "Why do you ask?" acheilla asked curiously. "Nothing. I just wanted to know. Go on, go to Elisia dear." acheilla could see zelana's eyes glistening like the vast stars in the night sky. Almost as if she was looking at an angel. The fire crackled while the embers of wood flew up into the sky. Acheilla could see Elisia telling some kind of story to the other kids, they all laughed and kneeled in. all curious to what he was telling. Glancing around, she could see xena. Sitting alone, facing the deep forest behind her. "What are you doing?" acheilla asked, walking over to her. Xena hesitated to speak. Murmuring inaudible words before she glanced towards acheilla. "I am just worried about luxia." "luxia?" acheilla frowned in confusion. Xena's eyes widened. "Miss kreinheard i mean." placing her hands in front of her mouth in embarrassment. "Don't worry. I am not going to punish you for it.. Anyways. What is he telling us?" acheilla said. Sitting next to xena while slightly grunting. "A story" "what kind of story?" acheilla asked "a story which he calls divine embers. It tells about a girl who fought the fiercest enemies and her traitors before coming across an ancient sword which gave her divine powers." "Do you think such a sword could exist?" acheilla asked curiously. Leaning in, "i did read in a book once that a sword called the gritzalif is the exact sword that could retain such powers, but i doubt it. Its existence is barely known." xena said. Still staring into the deep dark lush forest behind her. "Well if it's written. It could exist." "could." xena added again..
