I Can't Save Us

Chapter 8

Y/N POV

After that night Tricia and I became more than friends but with no label. We kiss, hug, secretly date, do overnights but we never really talked about kung ano kami. And hindi rin nya gusto ipasabi kahit kanino even kila Ate Aika.

At first I was okay about it. Not until naging court side reporter sya for NU.

"Are you available this weekend?" I asked while hugging her.

Andito kami ngayon sa condo, with one of our friendly overnights.

Tricia: "Sorry love may gagawin ako this weekend. Next time?"

Y/N: "Okay. Next time."

It's been weeks, lagi nalang syang busy. We don't even go out anymore. Pag nagkikita kami lagi naman syang pagod or inaantok. I want to understand her na siguro pagod lang sya from Acads and extra curricular activities. Pero I can't stop na mag overthink..

Game Night

Ateneo vs NU

Gene: "Bat mag isa ka ata, wala si Tricia?"

"Nandito na kaso nasa side ng NU. Di ba sya court side nila."

Gene: "Oo nga pala. Lika na warm up na daw."

Nagstart na yung game. Nakita ko sila Tita, Ate Aika and Jill sa audience.

Jill: "Go Y/N!! Galingan mo!"

Aika: "One Big Fight Y/N!"

3rd set na ng game. Ateneo leading with score of 18-20. One last point at mananalo na kami.

When I was about to block a spiker from NU, isa sa mga players nila napalakas ng bwelo at nagbanggaan kami. I was down on the floor writhing from pain. My bad knee was dislocated from the collision.

Gene: "Shit Y/N! Don't move, don't move."

Bea: "Coach stretcher please. Don't move Y/N."

Wala na kong masyadong marinig sa paligid ko. I was too focused sa pain. But then I saw Tricia, trying to go to me, pero someone was holding her hand. And when I saw who it was, parang mas masakit yung puso ko ng doble kaysa sa dislocated kong tuhod.

I was rushed to the nearby hospital, and the 1st person I see na dumating was Ate Aika.

Aika: "Kamusta anong sabi ng doctor?"

"Masakit padin, the doctor said I'll be needing surgery after mawala ng maga, then therapy right after." I said while wiping my tears dry.

Aika: "Pasunod na sila Mama dito inantay lang nilang matapos si Tricia."

"Okay lang Ate Aiks kaya ko naman. Tinawagan ko naman na si Papa."

Aika: "Makakauwi ba sila?"

"Hindi. Pero baka ako ang pumunta dun for surgery."

Aika: "Mabuti na din yun, mas advance ang medicine sa US, pero pano yung studies mo?"

"Wala pa namang solid plan. We'll talk again later depende sa sasabihin ng doctor sakanya."

After relocating my knee, and putting it on a brace, ate Aiks get all my prescription.

Mama Leni: "Y/N anak anong sabi ng doctor."

Y/N: "Okay na po ako tita, wag po kayang mag alala, wheelchair bound po muna ako ng ilang linggo."
