I Can't Save Us

Chapter 14

Y/N POV

All my bags are packed but I'm not sure if I'm ready to go. I lay down for a while kasi pagod nadin from packing stuff. When I heard my door bell rung.

Sobrang tinatamad akong bumangon so I ignored it thinking na aalis din kung sino mang nasa labas. After a while my phone is ringing. I check who's calling and it's Tricia.

Tricia: "Hello Y/N, andito ka ba sa condo mo? I just wanted to talk, please."

Y/N: "Anong pag uusapan natin Tricia?"

Tricia: "Y/N please just let me in."

Y/N: "Okay. Same passcode."

Y/N realized that she did not change the passcode yet for her door.. The code is my Tricia's birthday. She slowly walk inside and go straight sa kwarto ko..

Tricia: "Hi" she said while awkwardly standing by the door.

Y/N: "Have a sit, anong gusto mong pag usapan?"

Tricia: "I'm sorry."

Y/N: "Okay na Trish. We're okay. I'm letting you go, hindi mo kailangang magsorry. Hindi mo kasalanan na hindi mo ko mahal."

Tricia POV

Y/N is smiling but I can see pain in her eyes. I was about to hug her when my phone rings and it keeps on ringing..

Y/N: "Sagutin mo na mukhang emergency."

As I answered the phone, it was Josh and Francine on the other line saying na nadisgrasya si Ken and he's looking for me. I was shocked and torn between going to him and staying here with Y/N.

Tricia: "Send me the address, I'll be there." After disconnecting the call. I saw Y/N looking at the window.

Tricia: "Y/N I just need to go to the hospital it's an emergency, but I will be back. Please, wait for me."

Y/N: "Don't worry I won't be leaving anytime soon."

Y/N POV

I saw Tricia leave in a hurry. I wonder what type of emergency that is. Hindi ko din alam bakit pa sya pumunta dito para lang mag sorry. I decide to kill time by watching the news.

After surfing through all the channels I decided to watch a sport channel. It's the championship game of NU vs Ateneo basketball team. After the game, I saw Tricia standing in the middle of the court with a microphone.

Akala ko ba may emergency siya? Then it hit me, she choose Ken over me again. I didn't finish watching what was about to happen. I turned the TV off when I saw Ken with a bouquet of flowers going to Tricia. Yung puso ko parang vase na pilit kong dinidikit at inaayos pero paulit ulit nyang sinisira, binabasag.

I called papa immediately that I will be rebooking my flight tonight. I wanted to disappear and just finally let go of all this pain. Baka sakaling pag nasa US na ko malayo sa kanya, magawa ko ng maka move on, mag heal.

Tricia POV

I was surprised na wala naman talagang emergency at sinabi lang nila yun para pumunta ko sa pakulo ni Ken after their game. I was so cornered. But he just surprised me by making a publicity stunt to ask me to be her girlfriend officially.

I don't know what to say. Should I just say yes, sobrang nahihiya ako sa ginagawa nya. And this is being televised. My god! I just hope that Y/N is not watching TV right now.

Ken: "Tricia will you be mine again?"

I can hear the people cheering for me to say yes, but I can't. I can't say yes now that I'm sure na si Y/N yung mahal ko. I turn off the mic that was given to me and hold his hand. The cheering got louder na hindi ko na marinig kahit sarili kong boses. I leaned into his ear and said.

Tricia: "I'm sorry Ken. I can't be your girlfriend anymore. I'm so sorry."

I left him there and went home. Nahirapan akong makauwi dahil traffic and I did not bring my car. Pagdating ko sa bahay, si Mama lang yung nakita ko sa sala.

Mama Leni: "Oh anak nakauwi ka na pala, bat hindi mo kasama sila Jill at Ate Aika mo?"

Tricia: "Galing ako ng Araneta ma, hindi ko naman nakita si Ate at Jill dun."

Mama Leni: "Hindi sa Araneta nak, sa airport, ngayong gabi ang alis ni Y/N, napaaga, tumawag sa amin kanina nagpapa alam kaya hinatid ng mga kapatid mo. Hindi ka ba tinawagan nila Jill?"

I checked my phone at napaka daming missed calls from Jill and Ate. Naka silent yung phone ko kaya di ko nakita.

Tricia: "Mama susunod lang ako sakanila. I need to see Y/N bago sya makaalis."

Mama Leni: "Sana umabot ka anak, 11PM ang alis nya."

I ran sa parking lot, and drive as fast as I can. Buti nalang wala ng masyadong traffic. I went inside the airport and saw Jill and Ate Aiks. They both look sad as I approached them..

Jill: "Ate nakaalis na si Y/N"

I just stop walking and just started looking for my phone to try calling her. I keep on redialing the number even though the response is the same..

"the number you have dialed is out of network please try again"

Aika: "Trish it's gonna be okay. Maybe eto yung kailangan nyo." She said while holding my hand and stopping me from redialing again

I was a crying mess that night. I did not get a chance to say that I love her, na kaya ko na syang ipaglaban, panindigan.

After a few weeks I decided to reach out to her, but I received no response back. Wala ding updates sa mga accounts nya sa social media. It's been a year when she updated on twitter. Some of her teammates visited her including Sam. Nawalan ako ng pag asa when I saw how close they are sa mga pictures na pinost ni Gene and Sam. They look good together. At ang pinaka mahalaga, Y/N is smiling, she looks happy. Genuinely happy. So I did not bother her anymore after seeing those pictures. 4 years passed and today I am still sure na mahal ko sya, I just hope na sana parehas kami ng nararamdaman."
