I wake up to Akali shaking me awake, I open my eyes slightly to see her smile down at me, "I take it you are skipping today?" I groan as I realize that I probably overslept.

"Do I even have a choice?"

She nods, "It is still early actually, just woke you up cause I decided to make something for breakfast, and seeing as you weren't waking up on your own I came to speed up the process."

I lift myself as I rub my eyes out, "Thanks?"

"Don't mention it, besides food is getting cold so I'd get to it if I were you."

She kisses the side of my cheek as she lifts herself from my side and walks out of the room, I kinda just want to climb back in bed but breakfast actually sounds pretty nice right now... I am starving and feel like I haven't eaten at all yesterday... well not food at least.

Nothing going to take away me from being pretty proud of myself.

I get into some clothes and tread out of the room slowly, yawning and scratching the back of my head to see Conrad and Akali already in conversation at the table. I walk up to them as he flashes me a wide smile.

"Sleep well?"

"I guess?" I drop down beside her, she scoots her chair closer whilst sitting on the chair with crossed legs, "When did you get home?"

He then remarks, "This morning actually," he holds his smile.

I am not really up for conversation, I focus my attention on the food in front of me and begin to eat as I just listen to the two of them fill the air with idle conversation. Well... I wouldn't know because I am not even listening.

I finish up eating as I try to recall when I fell asleep, most of the night I remember fully but never the part of going to bed. Was I drunk?! Then looking at Akali wearing a smile, she turns her head to look at me as she lights up.

"How was it?"

"I loved it, you can take over food duty."

"Nah," she pats my thigh, "At that point, I feel like you are just keeping me around to keep your stomach full."

Conrad remarks, "I wouldn't mind at all."

"Uh-huh."

"What?"

She lifts her shoulders, "Nothing. It's just that you kinda don't actually have a say in the matter."

I snort as he shoots me a pleading look, "Mind talking to your girlfriend? She is just bullying me for absolutely no reason..."

I then look at her, "You sure there is no reason?"

"What!?" he dramatically gasps, "What does she have that I-" he then interrupts himself, "Boobs. Right."

She then adds, "And hot."

"Most importantly female," I add.

He rolls his eyes, "Right I get. Hey, buddy, if I was all of that you would listen to me right?"

"Would you even be my friend?" I narrow my eyes at him.

"Wait the plot just really got confusing why am I even being considered as the person that wouldn't be your friend?!"

I chuckle, "Just joking, besides you are kind of making it easy to do it."

"Comedic relief, I get it," he then puts on a serious expression, "On a serious note though, the talk has kinda died down but I will check it out on Campus to see if there are still idiots that want to pick fights."

I stop him, "It's fine. I mean I already kinda made peace with idiots a long time ago and I'd rather just not think about it at all - would just end up stressing for absolutely no reason when most would just mind their own business while calling me unworthy of her love."

"A critical claim," Akali nods.

"How terrible."

She then returns, "Our relationship was never the same again."

"Then he suddenly came out of the closet and confessed his love for me, forever solidifying that to be the best girl you should first be the best bro."

She then shoots him an annoyed stare, "Back off."

"What? It's a joke."

"I sometimes don't know when to take you seriously but I am drawing the line right there."

I only shake my head at their exchange as I then sling my hand over her shoulder pulling her closer to me, "You are actually just bullying him though."

She pouts, "He kinda asked for it."

"He did?"

She nods, "Uh-huh, was super mean and cold to me this morning after I was the one being nice."

"So a revenge arc?"

He then lifts himself, "I am going to get ready for College seeing as I have a perfect attendance record-"

I then tell her, "He doesn't."

"So I am going to leave you two love birds to enjoy yourself," he then disappears to his room, not a moment later he walks with a bundle of clothes and a towel towards the bathroom.

She then turns to me fully, "So I was actually being kind of serious last night about watching some of the latest series that came out and if you haven't caught up I don't mind rewatching them."

"Were we ever going to get to it last night?"

She nods, "If you," she presses her finger against my chest, "Didn't try to make a move I might've. Probably not. I honestly really wanted to do it."

I fight back the urge of asking how it was, I don't need to constantly validate how it was. Show some confidence damnit. She then looks over her shoulder with an almost angry expression, I lower myself giving her a kiss.

She deepens the kiss as she throws her arms around my neck, "Akali?" I try to stop her but she only smiles against me as continues to kiss me.

"Yes?" she finally pulls away.

"Why the sudden expression? Are you okay?"

She looks like she wants to talk about it, then shakes her head, "It isn't anything you need to worry about - just had a thought about work and stuff so it kinda just got to me for a second there."

It feels like she is just lying.

I then gesture to the door, "Is it about him?"

She kisses me again, "Nothing about him will ever make me want to leave you, okay?"

I stop her, "No I... I don't think you understood me. Is he getting to you, I mean. I know the two of you aren't exactly... friends."

She shakes her head, "Sorry. My mind is just everywhere. I am fine and can handle him. So don't stress about me so much, okay?"

I nod. How to put it, I am glad they are getting along and all but something feels off. I trust her, even if doing so blindly is silly but I doubt there will be anything between the two of them... even though I call him one of my best friends... I just don't feel like I want to trust him around her.

Maybe I am just insecure? Maybe I just know how he is.

I will ignore it and trust Akali.

I then give her a hug, "I trust you."

She then hugs me tightly, whispering to me, "And I love you."

It makes my heart flutter, I then hold her even closer not caring how long we stay in each other's arms, "I love you too."
