Our lecturer abandoned us and left us to do some work of our own - said that he had a personal emergency with his family and everyone is pretty much up and about doing their own thing. Thirty percent of the class left whilst the rest are either hovering around to take notes and the rest of us are busy finishing some of our projects for this class.

"How's the code looking?" Toby then grabs a chair and drops down next to me, "I haven't even touched the project and already have a feeling I am going to cry."

I lift my shoulders, "Easier than last year," I state, "Probably because we know what we are doing this time around," then someone else from our class swings by, resting his hands on Toby's shoulders.

"I think you are the furthest with the project, (Y/N). Everyone else is just taking it slowly," he then rubs his nose, "You should relax a little, saw you almost passing out at your table yesterday."

"Uh... yeah it wasn't because of work."

Toby then looks at him, "What's up Gregory? Thought you would be the first to run home."

He lifts his shoulders, "Should start taking things seriously eventually," then walking past him he lifts himself to sit on the desk, I instinctively pull my things away from him as he states, "Did you guys hear about the new bullshit rumors?"

Toby furrows his brow, "Something bad happen again?"

He shakes his head, "Someone on campus is dating a celeb. Everyone thinks it is one of the meatheads but don't you think one of them would have been a lot more open about it?"

I lift my shoulders, "Isn't that a little too wild of a claim?"

He nods, "I think so too. Though what is even wilder is the girl that the couple out near a diner near the park. She was running around telling everyone about it until Conrad came and shut her up."

Toby then asks, "We know who it is?"

He then locks eyes with me, I feel my heart sink as I try to hide my dread, "I know the celeb is Akali and that is as far as it goes. Though if Conrad is the one shutting her up then it must mean it is someone close to him."

I counter, "You aren't suggesting it is me, right?"

He snorts, "Never. No offense bud."

I lift my shoulders, "None taken."

Toby then groans, "Doesn't really tell us anything - so all we know is that she confirmed that Akali is meeting with someone in this college, firstly it has nothing to do with us and who is going to go out of their way to find this person?"

"People are insane," I state.

Gregory then sighs, "If it was me I would have flaunted it like a prize - it would make you feel like a god, it would be such a rush."

"Or they bash your skull in because how dare you to speak or look at their goddess."

"(Y/N) has a point-" then another person joins the group, I feel myself just wanting to get up and leave, we are getting too crowded already, "Hey, Grace. Heard the rumors?"

She nods, "Talked to her myself, came right here to ask (Y/N) if it is true?"

The three of us arch our brow at her, "Excuse me Grace but what the fuck are you talking about?"

She snarls at him, "Calm down Toby I am just figuring things out myself. Michelle practically babbled out a name - said that Conrad told her not to say shit and that I shouldn't say shit."

Gregory then snorts, "Looks like that worked out fine for her."

She rolls her eyes, then locking eyes with me, "Is it true?"

I shake my head almost instantly, saying the lines I have rehearsed for a few hours now, "No..." I failed terribly, then cleared my throat, "Is there a world where I of all people would be able to meet with Akali?"

"I kinda think so," she says with a straight face.

Toby then recoils, "OH THAT. There is no fucking way, Grace," he then rests his hand on my shoulder, "I am the president of the stooges and hopeless. I speak for him with confidence."

I furrow my brow at him, saying sarcastically, "Thanks..."

"I got your back."

Gregory then stops both of us, "The problem here is, an eye-witness dropped a name. Conrad told her to keep quiet and who is Conrad's best friend?" he then looks at me with an arched brow, "If it is true then kudos to you."

"It isn't true-" then rubbing my brow, I lift myself as I pack my things.

Not wasting time to leave. I guess I can't blame him, let's just hope it doesn't spread further than that.

***   Third person POV   ***

The three of them watch (Y/N) leave, they then look back at each other as Gregory says, "I mean - it is pretty obvious isn't it?"

Grace then looks back, as Toby states, "Keep it between the three of us. Let's believe for a second that this is true - chances are this is just going to bug the shit out of him."

Gregory then smiles at Grace, "Did you hear that?"

She looks back at him, "What?"

"Are you going to keep the secret or are you going to spill it because your little crush is dating a goddess?"

Staring at him blankly, his smile fades almost instantly, "What do you mean by crush?" then with a sigh, "First of all, you are a fucking idiot. Second of all, we are trusting the words of a drunk girl that only got into college because their standards are lower than Gregory's over here."

Toby snorts, "She's pissed at you."

"We just ignore it. Even if it is obvious. Rumors blow over and even if he is dating someone - it has nothing to do with us or anyone."

***   Normal POV   ***

The rest of the classes go by as if there was a target on my back, so paranoid that people are suspecting me... it just made the day feel so much longer. The instant I got home I called Conrad only for him to not answer his phone.

Then staring at it blankly, I then shut my eyes as I make another call, it rings five times before she picks up the call.

"(Y/N)?" I hear a few voices in the background, "What's up?"

"Nothing much. A nice day at college and your quick thinking is currently a rumor in my college."

"Hmm," she says, then taking her time she mumbles something, "Sorry. Was stuffing my face, is it bad?"

"Kinda..."

She grows quiet for a moment, still hearing the background noise she then sighs, "Sorry, can I call you back? Just in the middle of something, I will get back at you in an hour or so."

"S-sure."

"I am really sorry, you just caught me at a really bad time and I don't want to be rude. If things turn out right I might swing by to talk about it."

"You don't have to-"

"Call you in a few," the call cuts as I stare blankly at my phone.

Chances are she is with someone already, and the idea of a rumor going around that I am dating her is just like a spit in the face. I mean... this can't possibly get any worse.
