*** Conrad POV ***
"You have been out of your house a lot more than usual."
I nod with a smile, "I want those two to be alone without me kind of keeping them from doing what they want to do - besides I don't think she likes me at all."
"Why is that?"
I lift my shoulders, "Dunno but she has keen senses," I rub my eyes out, "I kind of just want to stay as far away as I can because no matter how you look at it Akali is still an incredibly hot celeb and there are people living your dream."
"You are jealous? Of him?" I can tell he just wants to make fun of me.
Twisting my lips to the side, "I am incredibly happy for him, but I know how I am. It is just better for me to stay away before I make it harder for them," then looking at him with a smile, "Besides, at least he gets to experience something I tried to help him with."
"So you are upset because it wasn't you sleeping with him?" he cackles.
I ignore him - Nah man. I am happy for him, I really am. It is more just because I know how I am, when it comes down to it I stop caring and only look out for myself.
*** Normal POV***
We reach the place finally, she parks the bike in a garage as the two of us set down the helmets on the rack. My phone buzzes as I see a message from Conrad stating that he will be sleeping over at some girl's place.
"What's up?" she gives me a concerned look.
Shaking my head, "Conrad won't be home till tomorrow I think," then putting my phone away, "So about meeting-"
She smiles at me, "It won't be that bad - the people that we are meeting are all regular joes like you. Apart from Seraphine, Ekko, Yasuo, Senna, and Qiyana. Plus it is a pretty big group."
"Still... won't a lot of the focus be on me?"
She nods, "Well yeah, you are going to be the new guy," she then reaches for my hand, "I will be next to you the entire time, so don't stress okay? Besides the worst that can happen is Qiyana trying to tease you. The rest of them are awesome people."
She pulls me along, I mean it can't be that ad.
We walk through the streets and it is pretty weird seeing her walk around in public not trying to hide herself, she must be comfortable with all the people here. In just a few turns we step into a building and climb the stairs.
"In here?"
She nods, "Own this building, we sit up on the roof around the fire pit and enjoy the view," before we reach the top, "In here you can slip in to get something to eat and drink, the toilet is also the first door on the right."
"Who lives here?"
"Nobody. We just use this as a hangout," we reach the top as there is only three people already hovering around the area.
The two of us walk up as Ekko jumps to his feet, "Glad to see you again, girl," he then smiles at me, lifting his fist, "And finally meeting the guy behind the screen."
I offer a smile as I bump mine against, "As long as we don't talk about expectations."
"Nah, ur cool with us. Just don't stress about the names," he then gestures to Akali, "But you dating her so I don't think you really care about the celeb status as it is."
She reassures him, "He does, just struggling to cope with it sometimes."
Yasuo then sides next to him, "It comes with the status, sup?"
I return the gesture with a nod, as Akali then asks, "A reason why I am the one that is early this time around?"
He transfers his gaze to her, "We gave you an earlier time to make sure we don't overwhelm, (Y/N)."
I chuckle awkwardly, "Thanks?"
"Don't worry about it," flashing another smile, "Plus she would have been late."
The two of them then return back to work on where I imagine they are building the fire, Seraphine then waves Akali over who then pulls me along with her. Guess she was super serious about not leaving my side.
Not ever going to complain.
"Hey, Kali," she flashes me a smile, "And...?"
"(Y/N), pleased to meet you."
"(Y/N)? Got you," she then scoots a bit to the side to make space on the couch as the two of us drop down, "Glad to see that giving you a different time than the rest of us actually worked wonders."
"Careful, Sera, I might just cry if you start picking on me."
She then looks at me, "She really is a handfull-"
"Don't start, we can start unloading all of the times you freaked out because your idol called you about-"
"Okay we can stop," she giggles nervously.
I then pat Akali on her thigh, "I actually think she has been pretty tame-"
"See?"
"Apart from the times she made me stress for absolutely no reason-"
She then turns to me with a pouting face, "Okay but talking about specifically that is kinda unfair considering if you made a move we wouldn't have to be in that kind of situation. Take it back right now."
"I didn't say I wasn't the problem."
"Still not taking it back."
"I... sorry?" she then shakes her head at me.
"Listen I know you are super cute and all that but there is absolutely no reason to put me on the spot like that."
Sera giggles, "I guess you both are a handful then?"
Akali then looks at her, "Nope. Not like I act the way I do at work the same way with him," rolling her eyes as she grabs my hand giving it a squeeze.
The conversations drag on, more and more people arrive and I was forced in front of them in this weird game of introducing myself and them saying I shouldn't stress too much - I guess a lot of them thought I'd be worried about dating a celeb.
I made peace with it the moment I realised everything that goes hand in hand with it.
