"You look worse than yesterday," he says as he sides next to me, "Something wrong?"

I nod, "Grace confessed to me and I pretty much shot her down," I say as I stare emptily into the embers, "Am I an idiot?"

With a chuckle, "Probably. Though why opt for one thing when there is clearly something else to go for. In the end, you should stick with your guns and use them till they start to jam and not work anymore."

I lift my shoulders, "I don't know what to take from that advice."

"Me neither," he states, "It just felt right to say it, isn't how advice works? We say what we want to hear. At least... that is what the psychology books tell us and even then the things we often want to hear isn't that it will be okay but rather that we made the right decision."

I then turn to him with a furrowed brow, "Okay it's weird when you start pulling psychology on me."

He chuckles, "Whatever."

Matty is on his phone with a beer in his hand right behind us. Michelle went to the bathroom, which gave Conrad a chance to slide in next to me and try and make me feel better... not like he really needed to.

*** Akali POV ***

There is just a lot that is too sore. Yet I don't want to go home, it all took too long, and despite just wanting to pass out on my bed and forget about everything... I just want to see him. I don't even care if I look abysmal.

My neck is somewhat pinkish, the muscles in my chest are sore. My knuckles are bruised and busted open from bashing his jaw in and my cheek stings like hell if I even try to move it. Climbing onto the bike I pull over the helmet as I ride over to his place.

Noticing a trail of smoke above the house, I sit on my bike for a moment watching the front door... wondering if it is really smart doing this now? I don't even know if he is in a good place right now.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I stare at the screen for a few moments. Slowly making my way to the contacts, hovering my finger over his name. What am I even doing?

*** Normal POV ***

I step out of the bathroom, washing my hands quickly as I walk towards the front door. I must be mistaken because I know I have heard that engine before... I am just that hope that she came here that I am really going to jump at every engine that comes near this street?

I really am at an all-time low. I pull the curtain to the side, noticing that she stopped right in front of our house sitting on her bike. The light on the phone illuminating her helmet, I then pull my phone as I give her a call, making my way to the front door.

She answers it, "I was just thinking about calling you," she starts off as she answers.

I open the door as I say, "I can tell."

She pans her head to the door, then with a smile, she shakes her head, "Well... this is kind of awkward isn't it?"

I cut the call, digging my phone in my pocket, "Well... probably not as weird as me noticing an engine and almost rushing to the front door to see who it is."

Lifting herself off of the bike, with her helmet in her right hand she walks up to me, "Was going to call you but couldn't help feel a little... well... weird."

"You feeling weird about something isn't really sitting well with me," I state with a smile.

She then sits down at the top step, "Sit down with me? I'd ask to come inside but I don't really want to talk to anyone other than you."

I do as I am asked, "Me neither. Was thinking about you the whole day, can't even find the time to enjoy the little meet-up we have right now. Just too many things running in my head."

"Sorry, not the way I'd like to be thought-about, to be honest."

I shake my head, "It's more my fault if anything."

She nods, "Yep, but you can blame me a little bit if you really want to," I glance at her as she lifts her shoulders, "Only a little bit."

I notice the redness on her face, "You okay? It... kinda looks like you were in a fight."

She nods, she then reveals her right hand, "The other guy had it worse."

I furrow my brow, "What happened?"

She scoots a bit closer, "Nothing worth talking about. Just had a little fight with someone and now it is left to be dealt with. My face hurts and I really just wanted to go home to sleep it off but not without seeing you before I do end up going to bed."

Then with a simple smile, "This... I... a weird way of confessing I think."

Putting her helmet next to her, she leans closer with her head against my shoulder, "It's better this way. No awkward stumbling, no not knowing what to say next because you don't know if you are taking it too fast."

I clench my jaw, staring at her face as I say, "I like you, Akali.

"I like you too," she then smiles but then winces, "Ow... I didn't expect you to say it out loud."

I smile down to myself, "Yeah you are not the only one. My heart is beating like crazy."

She lifts her head, lifting herself under my arm she presses her ear against my chest, I awkwardly hold my hand in the air not knowing what to do with it. Feeling my heart wanting to burst out of my chest as a small smile creeps on her face.

"Hold me close to you," she whispers, lowering my hand onto her shoulder, holding her against my chest her other hand searches for mine, interlacing our fingers. She giggles, "You sound happy."

"I am very happy," I smile down at her, "Sorry... some days I will be a little awkward and won't know what to do. Other days I will want to hold you, I am... not one that is used to this."

"I won't leave you in the dark, (Y/N). Leave you with expectations that you would grow into something you never had the chance to learn," she lifts herself, from under me as she rests one hand on my leg and the other on my hand, "A chance to love."

Pressing her soft lips against my cheek, "Akali..."

"Hmm?" I turn to her as her eyes sparkle in the moonlight, I am stunned as my words escape me, I then lift my hand to touch the side of her face. Brushing it with the back of my finger.

"Does it still hurt?"

She then rests her head face into my hand, "Not when you touch me," then with a chuckle, "But yeah it does sting like a bitch."

Sharing a chuckle, "Still doesn't make me worry any less about it."

She nods twice, "I promise to tell you about it, but right now I just want to enjoy this moment even if it is brief," she leans over, resting her chin on my shoulder as she wraps her arms around me.

Holding her around the middle, a feeling of relief as if holding her like this is what I really needed.

She then whispers to me, "If Ahri figures this out she will kick me out, so we still have about a week to get comfy before I am going to be forced to live with you."

"What, really?"

She nods, "Yup."

"I- I thought you were joking about that?"

"She is a Vastaya. They are super serious about personal space," she remarks, "Besides she never really joked about anything, besides I don't take up a lot of space and would gladly make dinner."

"That... and probably that the rumors of dating you are not so much a rumor anymore..."

"They don't know that yet," she then pulls away, dropping down back to my side, "Even if they do figure it out, that doesn't matter to me at all."

I nod, "Uhm... do you want to stay? There are some drinks and just was the four of us. They don't plan on doing anything with the fire other than standing near it... we ordered pizzas and everyone is staying over."

"Hmmm?" she then nods with a wide smile, "I'd love to."
