(Y/n)'s Pov

"Hey, Doffy?" I didn't want to bother him while he was working since I knew how busy he was. However, when I called his name, he seemed relieved about something. "Oh, you're back earlier (Y/n). I wasn't expecting you till 3" That had been the original plan but I had to discuss some legal stuff with him. I should have told him this morning although I had been in denial. Bad things weren't supposed to happen to me. At least that's how it used to be until Doflamingo forced himself into my once peaceful life.

"Are you busy?" He was a successful lawyer and I knew everyone that wanted to get away with a crime came to him. For that reason, he was always busy but I noticed the caseload was slowing down. Maybe I had something to do with it since now he made sure I was okay with him defending a client before he'd take them on. Definitely helped our relationship since I could set the line on which scumbags could walk. "Do you need something?" Right there had been a reason I came back from town early.

"Well, if you're busy I don't want to bother you. It's not that important anyway" Probably shouldn't have said that since Doflamingo was already tidying up his workspace to give me his full attention. "Anything regarding you is usually important. What did you need, love?" Taking the letter out of my pocket I placed it down in front of him. "I think someone is trying to sue me. This letter came in the mail" Doflamingo quickly read over the letter to find out some answers. "Who would be stupid enough to sue my Chicky?... Hm, I think you're right but don't worry about it"

He was one of the best lawyers in the city although I didn't think he should have given me that advice. "But Doffy" Doflamingo might have been smart enough to do his job well and I should have had more confidence in him. Although I was just thinking of the worst possible outcome. "I said don't worry besides with you being my dependent you don't have a beri to your name. If they wanted money, they would have been better off suing me" Right, he gave me the choice to work or not. I stupidly agreed to not work but we made the proper documentation so if he broke my heart, he'd be forced to pay me a certain sum each month.

"No one in this city would dare sue you. That'd be an instant death sentence" It was true I'd seen some terrible things over the years but still remained at his side through it all. "Fufufu. But they've decided to sue you when you're my lovely partner. I'll have it dealt with by the end of the week" He definitely meant the person would be murdered but I didn't tell him that was wrong. I had learned a long time ago that there was no saving someone who'd pissed me off. "I don't understand what I did wrong"

"(Y/n), I highly doubt you did anything. You're my innocent little brat" I hated when he called me that it made me sound like a child. However, I didn't complain about the brat part I instead took offense to the first. "I'm not innocent" My life had been hell and I couldn't lie that my hands were clean. Sure, no one couldn't see the blood but I could every once in a while when life was kicking me in the stomach. "More innocent than me. Fufufu. Don't give me that look. We're you planning on going to the movies with your friends?"

"Tsk. I don't have any friends" He should have known better, I had acquaintances at best. "Well, in that case how about we do something together? A little date just you and I" I went on the date with him last night which turned into a complete shit show before my dessert could even arrive. If this one turned out anything like that, I was going to be planning something special for him to pay him back. "A date? What kind of date?" The moment I said it I wanted to take it back. "I'm glad you asked. How-"

"I'm just going to leave before you cause me second-hand embarrassment" It wasn't my finest moment but still it was better than hearing what he had to say. "(Y/n)? You can't just leave" With Doflamingo sitting down I had a minute to make my way towards the door before he ended behind me. When he spun me around, I started to glare before giving me a piece of my mind. "Who died and made you king? I'll do whatever I want because I'm better than you"
