Bring Your Wife To Work Day (AU)

Writing Prompt – "C'mere, you can sit in my lap until I'm done working"

Third Person

It was still the earlier morning in New World City as Doflamingo stared down at his sleeping wife who wouldn't awake for another few hours. She wasn't a morning person and Doflamingo had learned the hard way to never wake her up, he ended up sleeping in the guest room for a week for that mistake.

As her chest slowly rose up and down Doflamingo thought about the day he had planned out weeks in advance. Today was as he deemed 'Take Your Wife to Work Day' (Y/n) was wary of the idea as Doflamingo's work wasn't exactly legal.

The man was one of several mob bosses that ruled over the city. She didn't even love the man at first since their marriage was set up by her Father to bring their two families together. But during a dinner where they were discussing business between them (Y/n) insulted Doflamingo and her Father slapped her across the face.

There was an execution of most of her family that night as Doflamingo stayed at home to comfort (Y/n) and their relationship grew stronger since that night as he proved she always came first to his business. On one occasion when the girl fell ill Doflamingo had cancelled all his meetings to stay but her side, one meeting was with Kaido but even with the threat of death he did not leave her side. Kaido came to Doflamingo's house to have the meeting instead, even a man like him knew of love once and knew not to come in between it.

"I should go prepare breakfast" Doffy's feet touched the cold floor of the bedroom before locating his house shoes he already had pants on since (Y/n) complained about his leg hair so she gave him the choice of waxing them or wearing pajamas pants, Doffy chose the pants option after a very painful waxing experience. After his shoes were on, he set off to prepare breakfast for the two of them.

They used to live with the other family members but after Trebol walked in on them having sex in the library (Y/n) was mortified and demanded a house where only her and Doffy resided. Trebol was banned from setting foot inside it but the other family members were free to visit and they still went over for dinner on Sunday. It was much to (Y/n)'s displeasure when she has to go over as Trebol tries to ask her questions about her sex life and whether or not they were having children yet.

Since they had moved to this lovely house (Y/n) made a point that she didn't want any hired help so Doffy was put in charge of cooking or cleaning. (Y/n) was a sweet girl but that girl could burn water and easily got tired if she did too much, Doffy didn't mind as it was all for her, and he was one hell of a cook.

"I think I'll make pancakes with blueberries" Very simple but it was (Y/n)'s favorite breakfast dish, that look on her face as she would shovel the pancakes into her mouth always brought a smile to the man's face as well. Before he started on the pancakes, he flipped the switch on the coffee machine then set off to work.

 Everything was almost done, a stack of pancakes sat on the table as he pours the coffee into a mug finishing it off with the perfect amount of vanilla coffee creamer just as (Y/n) sat herself down at the table Doffy placed the mug in front of her. "Thanks" The girl still sounded like she would fall asleep at any moment but Doffy was used to this, she'd be fine after her morning coffee.

It brought back a memory of when they had run out of coffee and had no way of getting more as it was the middle of a blizzard and poor (Y/n) was cuddled up in a blanket all day talking to herself like she was in withdraw. Coffee needed to be kept in stock at all times.

As she finished her coffee she begins to perk up. "Here you go Honey~" A big stack of pancakes is given to the girl as she grabs her fork digging in. "You made my favorite!~. You're the best!~" There is was as her smile grew so did his. "So, I had planned a nice day for us, are you ready for it?" Yes, today (Y/n) would be dragged to 'work' with him how could she forget.

"Do I get a gun?" "What, why would you get a gun?" "To shoot any creep that comes near me" She did make a good point but with her husband there she should be fine. "I'm be right there Dear you'll be fine" They continued going back and forth before both had finished their food, and went back to the bedroom to get ready for the day.

Before long both were at the door ready to go. "Doffy, can you tie my shoes?" Placing her shoe on his knee he ties them each up before standing back up holding open her coat so she can slip it on. "Shall we go my Dear?" "Of course, kind Sir" Sharing a laugh they make their way towards the car before getting in and beginning their way to where the first stop of the today would be. Collecting an overdue payment.

While Doffy went to collect the payment (Y/n) stayed in the car ignoring the screams and gunshots that were coming from the building. Soon he came back to the car with a briefcase in his hands, "You get the money?" "Oh yeah, with interest to. Though I won't be having any future dealings with them, fufufu" (Y/n) rolled her eyes at the man it's always jokes with him. "Now where?"

"Meeting with the other bosses. They liked my idea so some of the other wives will be there to" She liked this if any of them got out of hand their wives could straighten them out. Pulling out they drive to where the meeting was being held, it wasn't a secret place the officials just were paid off so they didn't bother them.

They pulled up to a warehouse where a few other cars were all ready parked. "Come on Doffy" (Y/n) didn't wait for her husband as she ran into the building hoping a certain girl would be there since she seen her husband's car. There was no rush on the man's part though since he knew no one would dare lay a hand on her. As the girl entered the room her eyes landed on the one person she was looking for "Rose!"

Said girl turned away from the red-haired man she was talking to "(Y/n) you get dragged into this 'Take Your Wife to Work Day' as well?" 

"Yeah. I didn't even get a gun" 

"Really?!? I got two, one's a backup, you want it?" Rose's husband steps in though before she can take it, "Don't give that bitch a thing" It was (Y/n)'s husbands turn to step in "Don't call my wife a bitch, Kiddo"

"Gentlemen enough we have business to discuss, sit down and shut up" Both men sperate as they go to there seats neither wanted to angry Kaido when their wives were here. Though before Doffy sat down he called to his girl "C'mere, you can sit in my lap until I'm done working" She didn't need to be told twice as he took off his coat so once she climbed into his lap, he wrapped it around her.

The meeting was taking longer than expected so (Y/n) ended up falling asleep. She only woke up once she was placed but into the passenger seat of Doffy's car but soon fell back asleep leaning against his shoulder listening to him talk.

"This was a good idea, I got to spend the day with my favorite person. We should do it again" (Y/n) was still fighting sleep when she heard that. "If I get a gun next time" Doffy laughed before responding "Once you stop burning water you can have a gun" Doffy was pretty confident that would never happen so she'll never get a gun, it's safer that way and she doesn't need one as long as he's around to protect her.
