The New Girl-Percabeth AU

Chapter 1

Hey this is my first fanfic, so the next few chapters will be a bit crappy but I promise it gets better from there. 

Annabeth

Today was the first day of school. Yay. Why did we move to New York? My dad. He just got a new job here so we kind of have too. 

"Annabeth! Come downstairs to eat! You don't want to be late for your first day of school!" my step-mother, Helen, called. My mother died when  I was 4 years old so I have a very faint memory of her. But Helen and I got along. She was really nice to me and cared for me as if I were her own child. 

"Coming!" I called and grabbed my bag and hurried downstairs. When I entered the kitchen I already saw my little brothers, Matthew and Bobby, eating breakfast.

"Good morning Helen," I say as I grab my plate of pancakes and my glass of orange juice to the dining table. I sat next to Bobby and started eating.

"Good morning Annabeth," they both say, their mouths full. 

"Good morning," I say smiling.

"Boys! What did we say about talking with our mouths full!" Helen scolded.

"Sorry mom." 

We finished eating breakfast and dad drove us to school.

"Bye kiddo. Have fun."

"Thanks dad, bye guys," I say and closed the door. I stand there as they drove away. I turned around and started walking towards the entrance. There were so many students, how was I going to find the principles office? I try asking students but they all just ignored me. I kept looking until the bell rang and everyone started scurrying off to their classes. Then the hallway was deserted. I continued walking down the hallway and thankfully bumped into someone. 

"I am so sorry," the person said.

"It's fine, I wasn't looking at where I was going," I say and when I look up at the person he had messy black hair, sea-green eyes, and had a cute smile. 

"You new here?"

" Yeah, I'm looking for the principles office, do you know where it is?" 

"Yup," he held out his hand for handshake "I'm Percy."

I shake his hand. " I'm Annabeth." 

"You know I would love to walk you to the principals office," Percy said.

"Oh you don't have to do that, I don't want you being late for class." I say.

"No I have math this period so I want to be late as I possibly can. And I have a great excuse for being late so win-win," he says with a mischievous smile.

"What's in it for me?" I ask with a smile

" You get to walk with me," Percy says with a smile and wink. I roll my eyes. "Lead the way." 

We start walking to the principles office. 

"So where are you from?" 

"San Francisco," I say.

"Why don't you sit with me and my friends today at lunch, they would love to meet you and there really chill," Percy says.

"Okay cool. Hey, I heard a bunch of girls talking about you," I say randomly.

"Good way or bad way?" 

" Good. They were saying how hot you were-"

"You think I'm hot?" he says and turns my way with a smile.

"You wish," I say still walking. He ran up too me "So you were saying?" 

"They were saying that were hot, so cute, and how they wished they were your girlfriend, so what's up with that?" 

"I known as the most popular guy in school. And the hottest I might add."

"And the guy who has the biggest ego ever."

"I do not." 

"Yes you do,"

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"No."

"Yes." 

"Your right you do." I say.

He was silent for a moment and then just realized.

"Hey you tricked me!"

"But you did agree."

"Only because you tricked me into saying it."

I smile at my accomplishment. 

"Anyways what do you like to do?" he asks.

"I really like reading and surfing."

"Wow."
"Wat do you have a problem with what I like?" 

"No it's just that when I ask any random girl they would say 'shopping ' but your different. I like that. And I also like surfing as well."

I blush. " Thanks. So what do you like to do?" 

"I love surfing at the beach. I really feel calm there and anything that stresses me just goes away. I also like swimming."

" That's really good. You know at my old school if I asked any guy what he likes to do they would usually say 'football' but your chill." 

"Thanks. Well here it is my second home."

"Wait what?" 

"I get sent to the principals office a lot and literally spend all my time here so I think of it as my second home."

"You are such a seaweed brain." I say.

"A what?"

" A seaweed brain. You love the beach so much that you have seaweed as a brain."

" Well your such a.... wise girl." I can tell he hadn't put so much thought into it. "Thanks for the compliment."

We go into the principals office and I asked for my schedule. I got it and we both left. I had chemistry first.

" Hey you know I have history 4th period too." Percy said as he looked at my schedule.

"Okay you want to walk to lunch together?" 

"Yeah sure." Percy told me where the chemistry room was and we split off. So far I was having a great day here.
