Chapter 5

Annabeth
I wish the night was over, but it wasn't. The girls asked questions that I didn't want to hear nor answer too. Why? Cause all of them were about Percy.
"On a scale from one to ten how cute do you think Percy is?"
"How much do you really like him?"
I had just about enough of this because I know something they don't.
"Guys. Shut. Up!" I yell and they quickly be quiet. After a few moment I'd silence Piper whispers
"What was that about?"
I sigh. I never liked talking about it but if it made them stop asking me so many questions. I didn't have a choice.
" Look there's something I haven't told you guys yet. I had a boyfriend. Luke Castellan. He was a college student. And we were dating for 4 months. That was until I walked into a cafe and  saw him making out with a girl. The next time I saw him I ended our relationship," I say the memory's coming back. I continued "And the reason why I can't be in a relationship right now is because the breakup is still fresh a-and I'm not ready for another commitment yet." I finish and they all apologized to me and I can tell they really meant it.
"Annabeth we are so sorry. And we are really glad you told us and as of right now we will not interfere in your love life," Hazel said hugging me.
"Thanks guys," I say and thankfully the rest of the ride home was quiet and peaceful.
Piper dropped me off  first and the second I closed the door behind me I was tackled by Bobby and Matthew.
"We missed you so much!" Matthew says.
"Matt, it was only a few hours," I say.
"Well there isn't much to do when your stuck at home in the heat," Bobby said.
"Although mom did let us go through the sprinklers," Matt says. I giggle and go upstairs to be greeted by my dad.
"Hey kiddo. Did you have a fun time?" he asks.
"Yep," I reply popping the P.
"Great," he kisses my forehead and goes downstairs. I shower and go downstairs for dinner.
Time skip to Monday

Percy's POV
It was already Monday. Great. I swear we skipped Sunday. I have a test in history I didn't study for and it's a 50% of my grade. I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail it like all my other tests.  Then someone bumped into me.
"Oh Percy Jackson just who I wanted to see!" Coach Hedge. I knew this couldn't be good.

" All right look cupcake. I have been checking out your grades and they are-" he whistles and imitates an explosions. I roll my eyes. " The principal spoke with me and he said if you get less than a C- on your next test, they're kicking you off the swim team." My eyes widen.
"Kick me off the swim team? I'm our best swimmer!" I say.
"Exactly. So you need to bring your grades up sonny, cause we're all depending on you, or else we're all screwed," he says clapping my back and walks away.

Great. No pressure. I needed to get someone to help me study and quick. A nerd. Annabeth. History was 4th period. So I needed to talk to Paul quick.

"Absolutely not!"
"Paul please! I just need you to excuse me and Annabeth from class so we can take the period to study!"
"I'm sorry Percy but you had all of last week study for that test and now you decide to do it last minute?"
"Yes! If I get below a C- I'll get kicked off the swim team! If I'm not on the swim team then who's going to beat our rivals tomorrow?"
He takes this into consideration and rubs his chin.
"I suppose if you want to keep your spot on the swim team.. I'll make an exception," he says and a big smile appears on my face.
"Thanks Paul! I owe you one," I say as I rush out the door looking for a certain blonde girl. I eventually found her.
"Hey seaweed brain what's up?"
" Nothing. So wise girl I was wondering if you could tutor me 2nd period?"
"Seaweed brain I can't ditch class."
"And you won't have too I spoke to Paul and he says he can excuse us for 2nd period to give me the time to study. And you're a nerd! So you can help me?"
"If you want my help you probably don't want to call me a nerd. And Percy you had all of last week to study, why do you suddenly want to make an effort?"
"Look if I fail this test then I'm kicked off the swim team," I quickly explain.
"Your on the swim team?"
"You didn't know?" She shakes her head. I was getting distracted.
"Will you help me or not?"
"Fine. I'll help you."
"Thanks Annabeth."
Time skip to 3rd period.

Me and Annabeth met at the library and I brought all my history books with me. We sat in a corner and we started.
"I really doubt you'll memorize all of this."
"Try me." And then we began and boy, was it a lot. But I had to do this. After what seemed like five minutes the bell rang. Dammit I'm in trouble now.
"Okay let's review as we go to class," Annabeth said.
"Do we have too?"
"If you don't want a good grade then we don't have too," Annabeth said.
"Fineee," and she starts asking me questions most of them were hard but I managed through it.

" All right class settle down. I will be handing out todays test. Good luck," but I swear her eyes said 'I hope you fail.' She passed out the tests and I wrote my name. I glanced at Annabeth and she already started working while I just had trouble reading the question thanks to my dyslexia.

It felt like a year when the bell rang. Our teacher already graded our papers so she would be giving them back to us at the end of class. When she handed me my paper I eagerly looked at my paper seeing that I got a C+! The teacher smiled at me, proud I'd ever gotten a grade above a D-.

Annabeth was waiting for me outside of the classroom.
"So?"
"I got a C+!" I say and she hugs me, wrapping her arms around my neck. I hesitate for a second and then wrap my around her waist. She quickly pulled back and I took my arms back.
"See I knew you could do it!"
I raise my eyebrow. " We both know you had little faith in me."
"The important thing is you passed seaweed brain  and now you get to stay on the swim team!"
" Yeah. And Annabeth I was wondering if you'd maybe want to go to my game tomorrow?" She smiles.
" Okay sure i'd love too."
And now I was determined to win the game.
