Chapter 26

Annabeth

I woke up in a cell and I found another figure in there with me, and it looked like they hadn't woken up yet. I took a look at my surrounding. There were cobwebs with no spiders thankfully. A bench pressed against the wall. The walls were moldy and there were flies. My hands were free but my left leg was chained. Outside I heard a few men talking.

"So why did we bring the girl?" 

"Because I already told you. We'll kill the girl in front of the boy and he'll feel depressed and then we give him a a nice long tortured death." one of the guys said. I look at the boy next to me and it seems as though he has woken up. 

"Annabeth?" the boys asked. Then I recognized the voice as Percy's. 

"Percy?" I whisper and scoot closer to him and he engulfs me in his arms. 

"What is this place?" he asks looking at our surroundings.

"This is where you're going to die." somehow one of the guys opened our cell really quietly. 

"Why did you capture you us you assholes?"  Percy yells. The guy takes off his mask and to me he's just a strangers but when I look at Percy's expression he looked like he was going to puke.

"Now punk didn't Sally teach you any manners?" how'd he know Percy's mom? Wait... Percy had a ex-stepfather, Gabe Ugliano. 

"Gabe.. how did you get out of jail?" he spat.

"I was locked in there for 5 years. I was let out a month ago." Percy looked really angry.

"What do you want from us?" I spat, he smirked and another person walked in the cell.

"First of all that punk put me behind bars so he's getting revenge," Gabe pointed his finger at Percy his face showed anger.

"What do you want from her?" Percy asked tightening his grip on me.

"We learned that the girl was your little girlfriend and you are going to see her die a nice painful death. Then you're next." the other man said. 

"Who are you guys?" I ask.

"We're called The Bad Guys. I'm leader of the group, Luke. But of course my identity remains a secret." he explained.

Luke? It couldn't be Luke Castellan. Right?

"When are you going to kill us?"  Percy asked.

"A week. But you'll have a daily torture in morning and evening." Gabe said. 

"Your first torture is in an hour." and with that they left. Me and Percy just stayed cuddled there holding on each other for moral support. 

"I wonder how our parents will react when they find us missing in the morning," Percy said. 

"They'd freak..... we need to find a place out of here. Because I am not dying 7 days from now." Percy lets go and instantly miss his warmth. I stand up and start pacing. They were little because of the chain. 

I kept thinking and thinking and I  found a big vent in our cell. It practically screamed 'Use me! Use me!'

"What about the vent?" I suggest.

"What if it leads us somewhere we don't want to be? We could just get in more trouble." I sit back down and lean my head on Percy's shoulder. 

"Right now the next few days will be vile and painful we should probably rest." I take in a deep breath. 

"You're right. We should rest." I snuggled even closer to Percy and went to sleep.

Sally

I can't believe Percy was missing. I hadn't found him in his bed this morning and he hadn't given me a note saying he went anywhere. I missed my little boy. I need to know if my baby was safe and not in pain or danger. I dialed the police and eventually they came. They asked everyone questions about Percy and when they had seen him last.
