Chapter 3

Annabeth

When history was over me, Percy, and Piper walked over to the lunch room and found a group of kids at a table.

"Hey guys." Percy and Piper greeted.

Everyone said hello to them and noticed me.

"This Annabeth. She's new this is her first day here," Percy said as we all sat down.

" Oh cool. I'm Frank."

"Jason."

"Hazel."

"Reyna."

"Leo. But you can call me Mcshizzle bad boy supreme."  I look at Percy and he shakes his head indicating that I should just call him Leo.

"Calypso."

"Thalia."

"Nico." 

"Will." 

"And you already know. Piper."

"Hey guys you know what just happened last period?" Piper asked eager to talk about her fight with Drew last period. 

"A fight with Drew?" Frank asked.

"Yeah how'd you know?" Percy asked.

"Word spreads quick." Hazel said.

"So you all not big fans of Drew either?" I ask and everyone shakes heads. 

"She is the worst! She wears more make up than all the models combined!" Reyna said.

"Yeah and those heals. She walks in them everyday casually like they are so easy to wear. Those look like deathtraps," Jason said.

"How is she the most popular girl in school? I mean who likes her?" Thalia say.

"Annabeth. This is your first day right? How do you know about Drew?" Frank asked.

"During third period we got paired up for an assignment and she absolutely did nothing. She made me do everything and all she did was text somebody."

"Well you should tell the teacher because it isn't fair for only you to do all the work," Piper said. 

" Yeah your right I'll tell him tomorrow," I say

"I hear Saturday is supposed to be 90 degrees." Leo said.

"Really?" Calypso said.

"Yup. So I was wondering if you guys would like to go to the beach," Leo says.

Everyone agrees and we talk and eat for the rest of lunch. And the rest of the day was a breeze. Once I was dismissed I said goodbye to all my friends and saw my dad waiting for me.

It was finally Saturday. I put on my bikini (that Piper insisted I bought yesterday when we went to the mall) and wore some shorts and tank top over it. I also had my hair in a ponytail and had sunglasses. 

"Annabeth your ride is here!" my dad called from downstairs. I grabbed my beach bag and went out the door. 

"How come Annabeth gets to go to the beach and all we do is nothing in the heat?" Bobby complained.

"Because she's going with her friends." dad said. "All right bye sweetheart have a good time."

"Thanks dad. Bye Bobby and Matthew. Bye Helen." I say as I go out the door and find Piper waiting for me in the car.  I sit in the seat next to her.

"Hey Pipes."

"Hey Annbeth."

"I thought you were going to get the others before me."

" Nah they're just around the block so I thought I could pick you first."

"Oh okay." I say and look at the window.

"I am so ready to get my tan on!" Piper said with a huge smile.

"Yeah me too and I can't wait to kick the boys butts when we're playing volleyball."

"OH yeah that will be so much fun."

We continued talking as we picked up the other girls. It was an hour drive to the beach and after a half hour driving...

"Okay Annabeth you have to talk," Piper said although I had no idea what she was talking about.

"What do you mean?"

"Oh come on you know what she's talking about. What's the deal with you and Percy? We all know there's something going on between the two of you guys." Hazel said.

I looked at them like they were all crazy. "What are you talking about? Me and Percy are just friends and nothing more."

"Okay be honest with us. Do you or do you not a little tiny crush on him?" Calypso asked and  I took it into consideration. Did I like Percy? We were only friends right? I mean I did think he was hot but that didn't mean I liked him right?

"Hello Earth to Annabeth," Reyna said snapping her fingers next to my ear.

"So come on answer the question do you or do you not like Percy?" Piper asked. I didn't know how to answer. Did I?
