Chapter 13

Annabeth

The game soon started. We served first and that's how the first round started. There were some pretty close calls but we were fine. Coach called a time out the score was 18-15. We had to step up our game. After the little break we continued playing. Soon we were tied and there was only less than a minute left.

It felt like everything was going in slow motion.

15...14...13...12...11...10

I served the ball....

9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...

And it went out. They won. The point went to them. I'm not a sore loser. But I was a little mad that we lost. I had worked my ass off for the past two weeks and it ended up like this. But it's fine. There are more games to come and I'm going to San Fran for Spring break.

"Hey Annie I'm sorry you lost, I know you've been practicing a lot for the last 2 weeks." Piper said with sympathy in her tone. I was going to ignore the fact that she called me Annie too.

"Thanks Pipes."

We were on the plane on the way to San Fran. I was so excited to see my best friend Clarisse La Rue. I had already said goodbye to my friends back at the airport and I would meet Clarisse in the airport in San Fran.

I looked around the airport and found Clarisse waiting for me. She spotted me and ran toward me and so did I. I abandoned my suitcase and we met in the middle. She squeezed me so hard I wouldn't have been surprised if I'd broken a few ribs.

"I missed you so much! How is New York? Any cute boys?" I smile and roll my eyes.

"You know after Luke I'm taking a break. No more dating for a while."

"That's not what I heard." she said smirking.

"What?"

"Thalia. She's been keeping me updated."

"I should've never introduced you two." I say chuckling.

"And she told me about this dude called Percy Jackson. So what's the deal between the two of you?" I put my hand on her forehead.

"Are you sure you're okay? Are you coming down with a cold?" she takes my hand off her forehead rolling her eyes.

"We haven't talked in a while and I need to know what's going on with your life."

"You sound like a mother who's desperate to know all about her daughters love life." she rolls her eyes.

"Whatever. Anyways when you're done settling in your hotel you think you could meet me at our favorite cafe?" I nod smiling.

"Sure how would 6 sound like?"

"Sure."

"All right I'm meeting Clarisse at the cafe. Bye guys!"

"Do you have everything?" I nod and smile. I head out the door and called an uber. I arrived there and found her waiting for me. We sat down and started talking.

"So how's been your relationship with Chris?"

"Good we're still going strong. And how have you and Percy Jackson been going?"

"We're friends and that's it." I say.

"And you want to be friends or do you want to be more than that? 'Cause I heard that he has feelings for you." my eyes widened.

"No! He doesn't. He would've given signs." I reasoned.

She rolls her eyes. "Thalia says he does but your just oblivious."

"No I'm not."

" Yes you are. It took you forever to find out that Luke liked you."

"And look how well that turned out." I mutter. It was hard for the memories not come back but it didn't help that we were sitting in the same cafe I had found him cheating on me with another girl.

"Right sorry." we sit there in an awkward silence.

"So have you made any other friends at your new school?" I nod.

"Yep. And I've joined the girls volleyball team. "

"Cool. How many games have you played?"

"1 and we lost."

"Well that's too bad."

And we stayed until it turned dark and when I had said good-bye to Clarisse I went out the street and I accidentally bumped into someone. He had a scar on his left cheek, blonde hair, and blue eyes. Luke Castellan.

"Oh Annie funny bumping into you."

"Don't call me Annie." I was getting mad.

"I never understood why you broke up with me."

"Do I really need to explain it to you? I caught you cheating on me and this very cafe."

"I never cheated on you."

I roll my eyes and scoff "Like I'm going to believe that."

"All right look. I still love you babe and why don't we just forget everything and be back to being a couple." his face was just centimeters from mine. I grabbed his wrist and judo flipped him. He groaned.

"So I'm guessing that's a no." he says and I roll my eyes and walk away.

Percy

I was so bored. I can't believe but I actually miss going to school. No wait let me rephrase that. I miss seeing Annabeth at school.

Her laugh, her blonde hair, stormy grey eyes. I really really liked her. I'm just not sure if she liked me back.

You know how on Spring break you get to sleep in? Well I don't. My sister woke me up at 8 am.

"Percy get up!" she was awfully cheerful for someone who had to wake up at 8 in fucking morning. I groan.

"Nooo let me sleep." she opens the curtains and the sun fills the room.

"The sun! It burns." I cover the blankets over my head and she just pulls them off of me.

"Mums making blue pancakes." I open an eye and soon the aroma of blue pancakes filled the room.

"All right fine."  I say and go to the bathroom to wash up. I go downstairs and find my mom flipping blue pancakes.

"Good morning sweetie."
"Good morning mom. Why do I have to wake up so early?" she stares at me.

"Percy! We're going to beach Montauk today!"  my eyes widened.

"Please tell me you packed your stuff." I chuckle nervously.

"O- of course I did." I say backing up. I quickly run up to my room but accidentally run into the door frame. Tyson, who was watching me started laughing really hard.

"Shut up."  I massage my forehead and go in my room. I grab a bag and pack everything I need. I change into a blue shirt and shorts. And grab my things and go downstairs.

Annabeth

After I walk away Luke follows me and grabs my wrist, he pushes me against the wall.

"Look this is how it's going to be. You and me are getting back together all right and you aren't going to say no."
"You know what? Sure I'll get back together with you." I smile and he leans in to kiss me but  right before his lips met mine I kneed him where the sun doesn't shine. He groans and I punch his face.

"I said no, and now  I don't want to see your ugly face in my sight again." I walk away, grab an Uber and go back to the hotel.
