Percy

I was really glad that Annabeth got in. She's been sweating about it all week. And now that she got in there was always a smile on her face wherever she went.

Since today was Tuesday Coach Hedge wanted us to practice more before the semi-finals in a week and when we win that we'll go to finals. But the team we're against with is Clarver High. (Once again I think I made that up)

I'd seen the people on the team and we got some actual competition. They were all buff guys, making us seem like children compared to them. But I've won all of our games what makes this one harder?

I didn't see where I was going and bumped into a girl. She had freckles and frizzy red hair. I recognized her as Rachel Elizabeth Dare.

"I'm sorry." I say helping her gather her books that fell on the floor. I know Rachel had a bit of a crush on me but we were cool.

"It's fine." she said as I gave her the books "Thanks."

"No problem." I say flashing her a smile.

"Hey-uhm I was wondering if you were free tomorrow night? Maye we can hang out. I know this great pizza place around the corner." she says with a small smile.

"Yeah sure. I'll pick you up at 6-ish?" This wasn't a date, just 2 friends going hanging out. Nothing special.

"Great! It's a date." she kissed my cheek and walked away. I groaned. Damn it... what am I going to do?

*-*

I rang the doorbell to Rachel's house and boy were they rich. I range the doorbell again and this time Rachel answered. She was wearing a black skirt that reached above her knees and purple t-shirt and a blue sweater.

"You ready to go?" I ask and she nods smiling. She directed me to the pizza place. We went inside and got a table.

"So do you want an appetizer to begin with?" I say, looking at the menu. "Maybe the breadsticks?"

"Yeah sure. Should we share a pizza?" she asks.

"Okay sure. A pepperoni pizza?" I ask and she nods. The waitress comes over to us.

"Hello, I'm Silena I will be serving you two today what can I-" she stopped mid-way and I recognized her as Beckendorf's girlfriend.

"Percy! Rachel! Didn't expect to find you two here. Percy I thought you were dating Annabeth?" she asked and my cheeks felt warm and I really hoped they weren't as red as I thought they were.

"Nope. Me and Annabeth are just friends and nothing more." I say wishing we could move on to ordering our food.

"That's not what the rumors at school say about you." the news shocked me

 1) I didn't know about it
2) That some kid at school started a rumor of me and Annabeth being a thing

I had a tiny crush on Annabeth and in a way I kind don't want it to be a rumor.

"You know what, I'll deal with that tomorrow. Can't we just order our food?" I plead.

"Fine. But we are not done with this conversation. What drinks would you like?"

"I'll have a raspberry lemonade please."

"And I'll have a Dr. pepper please."

"All right. And what would you like to order?" she says writing everything down.

"We'll have breadsticks as an appetizer and we share a pepperoni pizza please."

"All...right. Got it. I should be back with your drinks soon." she says walking off. After she left there was an awkward silence. I suddenly found the wall very interesting.

She eventually broke the silence "Good job on your win last week."

I smile. "Thanks. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you on the girls soccer team?" she nods.

"Yeah our next game is on Friday. I was wondering if you would like to come?" she asks.

"Sure. Is it fine if I bring my friends with me?"

"Of course! The more people the better. A couple games ago we lost a big game and not that many people have been come to our games anymore."

"Well that unfortunate. Good luck on the game."

"Thanks." We continued talking while we were waiting for our food. When the food came we were really hungry and ate everything quickly. I paid and we left  the restaurant  stuffed. We went to central park and went for a little walk. Once we were both tired, I decided I should drop her off.

"Thanks for a wonderful time Percy. I hope we can do this again sometime." she said when we reached her doorstep.

"Uhm-  sure. Night." she smile and kisses me. Before I could react she broke apart smiling "Good night Percy." she opens the front door and waves before closing the door. I went back to my car (yes I can drive) and drove home. I found my mother sitting on the couch with a big smile on her face.

"So how was it?" she gets up and walks over to me.

"Good."

"Was it fun?" I nod.

"But I don't get it."

"What?"

"I thought you liked Annabeth. Why were you just on a date with Rachel?" I wonder how she received that information.

"I don't like Annabeth." I try to keep a straight face. She raises one eyebrow. Damn. The woman can see right through me.

"Uhu. Percy you need to realize something. I'm your mother. I know everything about you. I also know when you're lying like you are right now. You may deny it but I know you like Annabeth." I know she's right but I'm not just going to admit that.

"Believe whatever you want mom. But I know I don't have feeling for her. And besides i don't want to have this conversation now. Can I go to sleep now?" she smiles.

"You are so lucky that it's past 10 because we could have had a long conversation about." I kiss her cheek.

"Good night mom."

"Good night honey." I change brush my teeth and as soon as my head touched my pillow I went fast asleep.
