Chapter 23

Percy

I ran after Annabeth. I felt like a total idiot. Annabeth's heart was broken and mine was too. I caught up with her and grabbed her hand. She tried to pull away but I had a strong grip.

"Annabeth please. Let me explain."

"Explain what? If I hadn't interrupted you, you would've moved on to something different." she said.

"Annabeth please. I love you." she laughs.

"Percy you don't love me. Because if you loved someone you would show how much you love them, if you loved someone you wouldn't cheat on them, if you loved someone you wouldn't leave them heartbroken. Like me. It was all my fault. I should have never trusted you. Should've never given you a chance.  Even my other relationship lasted longer! Good bye Percy." she yanked her hand out of mine and ran off.

I just stood their shocked and heartbroken. I fucked up big time. I drive home and since it was only 9 my family was watching a movie with some popcorn. My mom tried to say something but I ignored her, went to my room, and slammed the door behind me. After changing I heard a knock on the door.

"Perseus Jackson! Open this door right now!" I opened the door. my moms face softened after she looked at my depressed face.

"Honey, what happened?" 

I sat on my bed and she sat at the edge of it.

"I don't feel like talking about it." she nods understandingly and kisses my forehead.

"Okay. You can tell me when you're ready. Get some rest." she smiles and before she left the room I blurted "Annabeth broke up with me." she stops walking and faces me and hugs me.

"What happened?" I explained what happened without the part of saying I love her.

"She's going to want some space so you're going to have to give her that and you have to think of a way to make it up to her." I nod.

"Thanks mom. I love you."

"I love you too sweetie, and if you want to you can watch the movie with us." she asked. I shake my head.

"I just want to be alone." she smiles and nods understandingly.

"Take all the time you need." she kisses my cheek and leaves the room silently closing the door behind her.

What am I going to do?

Annabeth

I was so mad at Percy. I actually loved him. I can't believe I fell for a bitch like him. I hated him. I can't believe he would cheat on me with Drew! He knew we were enemies. How could he do this to me? 

Dad and Helen went on a date and agreed both boys are allowed to stay home alone. When I entered the house I saw them eating big bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and sprinkles. They looked at me with wide eyes, ice cream all over their faces.

"You won't tell mom and dad right?" Bobby asked his mouth full. After everything  that happened tonight I smiled.

"" I say grabbing a bowl of ice cream. I scoop some ice cream for me and start eating at the table.

"Can we watch a movie?" a movie would probably help, I can sulk later. We moved to the couch and turned on the TV.

"So what do you want to watch?" I ask.

"Encanto!" they both said. I smile and play the movie. 

By the end of the movie there eyelids were droopy. Then they fell asleep. I smile and drape a blanket over the two of them, go upstairs and go to bed.

Percy

I had a great dream last night probably the first time in forever. Me and Annabeth were sitting on a bench in the park and we were much older. Probably about 25 years old and I saw a 5 year old little boy with messy black hair like mine and eyes the same shade of grey as Annabeth's chasing a 3 year old little girl with blond hair like Annabeth's and sea green eyes like mine. Were they our children? 

"Mommy, daddy come play with us!" the little boy said. Older me and Annabeth walked over to the children and played with them. I know it was weird but I wanted to ask the little boy what his name was. 

"Percy." I heard a voice say. Before everything disappeared I asked "What's your name?" 

"My name is Sally Jackson and you're Percy Jackson. Have we been introduced properly?" I hadn't realized I said out loud and a slight blush creeps to my face. 

"Percy you need to get up it's 11:30." I groan. 

"All right." I yawned and stretched and got out of bed and got ready for another depressing day.

2 weeks later

Piper

All of our friends knew the story of Annabeth's and Percy's breakup. But we only knew Annabeth's side of the story. Jason and I would come up with a plan to get them back together. 

I waited patiently for Jason and the doorbell rang. I ran to it and found Jason outside. He greeted me with a hug and a kiss and we walked over to the living room and sat on the couch. 

"He said that at the party Annabeth had went to the bathroom and Drew wanted to show him something and he agreed. As they went down the hall Drew just randomly kissed him. And then-"

"Annabeth saw him and thought he was cheating." I continued "But he didn't want to kiss Drew right?"  he nods. I smile.

"How about we get them in the same room and trap them in. We won't let them out until they work things out." I say proud of my plan.

"How did I get dragged into this?" I roll my eyes.

"Operation: Percabeth, is a go."
