The New Girl-Percabeth AU

Chapter 29

Percy 

It was my birthday. I am turning 17. Just 1 year until I would be graduating high school and becoming an official adult. My mom hadn't told me if they were planning any surprise party. 

"Hey honey can you take Estelle and Tyson out for ice cream? I have book to finish and I want an empty house please," I nodded and she handed me the money. 

"Thanks mom," I kissed her cheek and quickly helped Estelle with her shoes. 

"We should be back before 7, see you mom," and we all headed out the door. It was about a 20 minute walk and half of it was Estelle complaining that her feet hurt. I stopped, bent down down and let her get on my back. Thankfully the rest of the trip was quiet. 

Once we arrived and it was our turn in line I recognized the red head behind the counter as Rachel Dare.

"Hey Percy! What brings you here?" she asked.

"Well I came for ice cream, this is an ice cream place isn't it?" she blushes, chuckling nervously.

"Yeah sorry, what will you have?" she asked getting the scooper. I looked at my siblings and it was so creepy how they said "Chocolate" at the same time. 

"I'll have 2 chocolates and one blueberry, all of them in cups." she handed us the ice cream and I payed her the money. Right before I was about to go sit a table with my siblings, Rachel stopped me.

"Hey Percy, I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime?" my eyes widened for a sec and I played with my fingers unable how to say no.

"You mean like a date?" she nods "I'm sorry Rachel, you're cool and all but I have a girlfriend." 

"Oh, sorry," she looks down and I feel a little bad. 

"Maybe we could hang out though, as friends," she smiles.

"Sure, bye," I wave and go to he table where Estelle is sitting by herself. 

"Where's Tyson?" 

"I don't know, he saw the girl he likes and went over to her," I scoured the place and saw Tyson sitting with a girl. I remember him talking about her, I think her name was Ella. Once we finished I dragged Tyson out of there and decided to go to central park since it was only 5:30. 

"So was that your girlfriend?" I tease, he turns a dark shade of red and looks at the ground. 

"No, I just really like her." 

"Is she going to the surprise party?" Estelle asked. Surprise party? I looked over to Tyson who was glaring daggers at Estelle. 

"Oopsie daisy." 

"So there is a surprise party," I say and Tyson nodded.

"We never should have told Estelle," I heard Tyson mutter under his breath. 

"Well thanks guys."

"No problem, I just wish someone hadn't told you before time," Estelle scowled at him, she looked like she wanted to tackle him. She probably could.

Once I opened the front door, we were greeted by darkness. I found a light switch and was greeted with a 

"SURPRISE!!!" I saw my family and friends. There were blue balloons, blue party streamers and  a blue banner that said 'Happy Birthday'

"Wow guys! I totally didn't suspect this! Ya'll are the best!" I put a hand on my heart to make it more believable and it worked. My mom came over my way and hugged me so tight. 

"I can't believe my baby boy is 17! You're growing up so fast," she whispered in my ear. I smile and when she pulls away and a tear was running down her cheek. She quickly wiped it and kissed my cheek. She went over to Paul and they started talking. 

I made my way over to my friends and even saw Grover there. Me and Jason did our handshake and me and the rest just Bro hugged. I looked at Annabeth and walked over to her giving her a long sweet kiss on the lips. We broke away her face red. She slapped my arm playfully.

"You know I don't like kissing in public," her face was still red and I quickly glanced to my mother who was giving us a sappy smile. 

"Happy birthday, seaweed brain," she said giving me a quick kiss on the lips. 

"I love you wise girl." 

"I love you too seaweed brain." 

"Are you guys done sucking face or are we going to party!" Thalia said and at the same time both me and Annabeth turned beet red. 

That's how it went for the rest of the night. We had punch, food, danced, and played games. Now one thing left: presents.

They blindfolded me and took me outside.

"It's only one present, but it's a big one," mom said, taking off my blindfold. At the same time Jason and Grover took off a tarp to reveal a car. 

"Holy shit! You got me a car!" I smile and look at the car. 

"Perseus! Language!" mom scolded me but I didn't care. It was a 2018 BMW with a nice shade of blue and it looked like it had black leather seats. 

"We all chipped in, so this present is from all of us," mom explained. 

"Thanks guys!" mom handed me the car keys and I so badly wanted to take it out for a quick drive but mom wouldn't let me. We went back inside the house but Annabeth said she had something to show me alone. 

"Well I got you something else, that's a little cheesy and if you don't like it, you can just say so-" 

"Chill wise girl. I'm sure I'll love it." she got a small box out of her pocket and when she opened it, it showed two rings. She got them out the box and gave one to me. 

"They're promise rings. Mine says Wise girl and yours says Seaweed brain. I know it's stupid but it'll show that we're always here for each other even when things are tough and that we'll always stay together." I wore the ring and smiled holding her hands. 

"I love it. You're the best girlfriend a guy could ask for. I love you," I wrap my arms around her waist and kiss her. I could never get used to the way her soft lips felt against mine. Every time I kiss her my heart does somersaults. I pull her closer to me while she puts a hand on the back of my neck and the other rested on my chest. We broke away panting and I missed the feeling. We went downstairs to find our friends sitting on the couch, looking for a movie to watch. 

"Finding Nemo!" I exclaim and find a spot. Everybody groans and shake their heads. After 15 minutes of arguing we decided to do The Little Mermaid. Everybody got settled and passed around the popcorn. Around the part where Ariel uses a fork to brush her hair I felt my eyelids getting droopy and soon I fall fast asleep. 

Hey cupcakes! New chapter posted! This was a trashy one I know but I try my best. In case you misunderstood. Percy doesn't have his own car. Every time he drives in the book, it's either his moms car or Paul's Prius. Thank you guys for the reads and I can't believe we're this far in the story! Seems like only yesterday.
