Chapter 20

Annabeth

I had invited Hazel and Piper to help me with my outfit today. They ended up deciding on a navy dress that reached just above my knees. It had a belt around my waist and just in case it was chili out I got a black cropped biker jacket. They agreed on some flats and they put my hair in a high ponytail. I wouldn't allow them to do any make up other than lip gloss but that's it. 

"You look amazing! Percy's going to drool over you." Piper commented.

"Now we'll be here and when you come back you have to tell us all about it!" Hazel said.

"Don't worry I will." 

"Annabeth! Percy's here!" Helen called from downstairs. 

"That's my cue. I'll see you later." 

"Have a fun time!" Hazel called.

"And when you come back there better not be any marks on you." Piper called behind me causing me to blush. 

"Hey seaweed brain." I say and I take a good look at him. He was wearing a blue collared shirt, very un-Percy and black sport shorts.

"You look great wise girl." 

"Not so bad yourself." We start walking to the car.

"So where are you taking me?" I asked. He smirks.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told, would it?" 

"Just a little hint?" I ask with puppy dog eyes.

"Nope." I frown. After a 15 minute drive and a 5 minute walk he asks me to close my eyes. He holds my hand so he can guide me.

"All right wise girl. You can open your eyes." Once I opened my eyes I gasped at the view in front of me. There was a picnic under the most biggest trees and there was a lake just a few yards besides it and it was the best thing I've ever seen.

"Do you like it?" he asks shuffling his feet.

"Like it? I love it! I can't believe you did this, you're amazing!" I peck his lips and hug him. "You are so sweet.

"This is a wonderful spot, how'd you find it?" 

"You know how I told you how my ex stepfather always abused me? Well sometimes after school I'd come here to just take my mind off of things. I've never showed it to anybody.. well until now. This is a sacred spot and please don't share it with anybody." 

"I swear on River Styx that I won't tell anybody." I say. He pulls my hand over to where the picnic basket was set up. We both took a seat and Percy started unpacking all the things that was in the basket. There were ham sandwiches, fruit salad, and a plate of blue cookies. He got some water and soda.

"Bon appetit." he gestured to the food and we started digging in. When I was eating my ham sandwich I accidentally threw a piece of ham at Percy and it stuck to his for. ehead. He noticed the ham and grabbed a strawberry from the fruit salad and pelted me with it. It was full on war now. 

We got so tired we ended up collapsing on the ground next to each other looking at the sunset, we laced our hands and we laughed.

"I won." Percy said.

"No you didn't. I clearly won." 

Rolls his eyes "whatever makes you sleep at night." we rolled to our sides so we were looking at each other.

"Hang on you got something on you lip. Let me get it for you." instead of doing that he grabbed the back of my neck, pulled me closer, and kissed me. 

"That was so cliche." he smirks.

"You know you loved it." I roll my eyes. After we clean up Percy had planned on doing some star gazing. We rested against the tree bark, Percy wrapped an arm around my waist, and I rested my head on his shoulder. 

Percy 

As we were star gazing I had totally lost track of time and I found a sleeping Annabeth next to me. I was to lazy to bring her home so I brought her to my home. 

"Percy?" mom asked.

"Shhhh."

"Why- oh. I thought you were going to drop her off."

"She fell asleep and  I was too lazy to drop her off." Do her parents know she's here?" I nod.

"All right then you can bring her up to your room. Good night."

"Good night mom." I bring Annabeth up to my room kick off her shoes and jacket and tuck her in my bed. I brush my teeth, change my clothes and slip in next to Annabeth. I wrap an arm around her waist and doze off.

Annabeth

I woke up to a sleeping and drooling Percy. Eww. I used his shirt to wipe it and Percy stirred in his sleep. He opened both eyes.

"You drool in your sleep." I flicked some hair that covered his eyes.

"I've been told. What time is it?" he asked groggily.

"9:30" I answered.

"Wake me up in an hour." he closes both his eyes and I kiss him with my mouth closed. I didn't want to deal with morning breath. 

"Or now's fine." 

"Do you think I can get a change of clothes?" 

"Yep." he throws me an over sized t-shirt and some sweatpants. 

He goes to the bathroom and I change in peace. Once I finish changing I go downstairs and find Sally in the kitchen.

"Good morning Sally." 

"Good morning dear, did you sleep well?" she asked.

"I slept fine thank you. Do you need some help?" 

"Sure, do you think you could hand me the flour and the sugar that's in the pantry please?" 

"Of course." I handed her the flour and the sugar. "Anything else." 

"No but thank you. Percy didn't tell me what he planned for your date yesterday. What did he plan?" she asked.

"Percy planned this picnic with a beautiful view. And then after that we did some star gazing and it was so romantic!"

"Annabeth stop." Percy groaned as he approached us.

"Aww I didn't know my baby could be such a romantic." 

"I had the best time." 

"Of course you did I was with you." he smirks and I roll my eyes. 

"Oh by the way I snapped a few pictures of you two while you were sleeping." Sally said and both me and Percy's cheeks went red as she showed us the photos.

"Mom really?" Percy complained.

"Oh you know I had too." she grins. 

Percy

Once we had breakfast Annabeth had changed she wanted me to drive her home. But when I was some guy had drove into us and that was the last thing I remembered before the world went black.
