63: Meeting

Angel POV
I am very nervous to meet up with Aunty, Unnie and Yeji. I'm assuming that they know about me and Sunghoon's breakup, why were we meeting up? Did she think it was my fault? I haven't been able to reach my dad since the last I saw him which is conveniently when me and Sunghoon broke up.

I would tell Heejin but we've been super busy ever since we got accepted to that major dance company a week ago. I walk into the coffee shop with great hesitation. Out of nowhere Yeji walks up to me and hugs me which I immediately smile and return. "Hi, Yeji" I smile at the small girl. "Let's go, Unnie. Mom and Unnie are over there"

she takes my wrist and leads me to the table where they are sitting and luckily it's just Unnie and Aunty. I greet them politely when Unnie gets up and hugs me "I'm so sorry" She whispers. "For what?" Aunty looks at me with an apologetic face as well. "I'm sorry as well. I was supposed to be like a mother figure for you and I didn't even check on you when my son was giving you such a hard time"

she chuckles to herself "You don't even call me mom anymore" I quickly sit down. "It's okay. I'm not mad at anyone" I say grabbing both of their hands. "Tell me your side of the story before I say anything about Sunghoon" Mom says and that's what I do. I tell her from when he didn't tell me about when we're kids to Hyunjoo Unnie to his traineeship now.

They don't interrupt me and let me get everything out and nod to show they're listening to me. "See, Aunty? I told him to tell her about Hyunjoo, I didn't know about his traineeship though" Haime says to Mom. "He only told Mom and Sanbin oppa" I explain and mom nods.

"I understand you completely. As I've told you his dad put me through the same thing and unfortunately Sunghoon has inherited some of his dad's worse behaviors. But that's why I'm here so you too will understand each other" Mom says.

"Angel. Sunghoon hasn't been sleeping for a week and he won't eat properly. He won't go out anywhere and locks himself up in his room all the time" Haime says. "Why?" I asks. "He says it's his Karma for mistreating you" Haime says and my eyes water. "Get him to eat!" I say louder than I wanted to.

"He said none of us can help him, honey" Mom says. "We've tried" Haime says but I'm already confused. "What do you mean he won't go out. He was just at the park the other day and he yelled at this boy I was talking to" I say.

"We forced him to get out and he ran away because he thought he saw you at the mall with someone else. That's the last day he went out"  Haime explains as Mom grabs my hands in hers. "Angel Unnie , he loves you" Yeji says making all of look at her, this is the first thing she says since I got here. "Y-Yeji? What do you mean... He loves me?" I ask.

Yeji POV

(flashback)

I'm very excited to go out with Sunghoon oppa's new girlfriend. I went in his room to bother him while he was getting his clothes ready to take to her house before we went to the mall. "Oppa!" I scream jumping on him. Usually he'll throw me on his bed but today he just ruffles my hair and laughs.

"What do you want Yeji-ah?" He smiles. "Eww!" I say mocking him. "What? Who are you Eww-ing ?!" He says. "Oppa, why are you so smiley today?" I asks and he shrugs with a big goofy grin on his face. "You must really like Angel Unnie, huh?" I ask him and he ruffles my hair again shaking his head at me.

"I like her a lot. I think I like her so much, Yeji, that I love her"  I frown at him. "Aren't you too young for love?" I ask. "When did you become so old?" He laughs "Maybe. I am pretty young but I'm for sure" he says.

"How do you know?" I ask as he finishes packing bag. "When you come of age or find love, which ever comes first, you'll just know. It feels... different" he says before kissing my forehead. "Hurry back!" I yell as he leaves.

(flashback over)

Angel POV

"Don't you see, Unnie? It's been almost three months since he said that" she says. "Yeji how can you be sure now?" Mom asks. "Every time I would call him, he would say he was in love with an Ice Princess far far away, who knew that was Unnie?" Haime and my eyes widen at the small girl.

"That was Angel's nickname before we met her! He's been saying that since elementary school?! Waaah! How could I not notice this?! Waaah!" Haime says but I can't say anything. "If he loves me why does act this way?" I ask aloud to myself. "Angel, let him explain further. Only he can tell you himself"

(No POV)
Back at the Park Residence

Mr. Park was contemplating on whether to talk to  his son. Sunghoon was currently locked up in his room again. Mr. Park stood by his door for a good 10 minutes before knocking. "It's dad!" He says and doesn't get a response but he continues

"Son? Look, I know this must be hard for you. I went through the same thing with your mom and it was also my fault. Unfortunately when we love someone our judgement around them is clouded. Because we love them so much and only want to see them happy but we end up making them the saddest" he pauses hoping for a response but sadly gets none.

"Even when I first left with Yeji years ago my judgement was clouded but it worked out because your mom and I didn't give up on each other... Do you understand what I'm trying to say son?" He finally finishes to no response and sighs. Then Sunghoon opens the door with red puffy eyes and hugs his dad.

"It's okay... you'll learn. You and I both we'll get better" Mr. Park rubs Sunghoon's back in circles with a soft smile.
