HOPE LUPIN-BLACK was born on the 28th of May 1980. When her fathers Sirius Black and Remus Lupin got told that Marlene McKinnon went into labour 2 weeks early they didn't know what to expect, Sirius started running around the cottage they lived in shouting about how they weren't prepared and Remus was chasing after him trying to reassure him that they have been prepared for weeks now.
They got to Marlene just in time for the birth, Remus held her hand trying to ignore the pain he felt in his hand from Marlene squeezing it, and Sirius tried not to throw up, or pass out, quite possibly both.
WhenSirius and Remus met their daughter it felt as if their two-person family was finally whole, like their daughter was the last piece in finishing the puzzle. They decided to name her Hope after Remus' mother (god knows it wasn't going to be after Sirius' mother) Marlene after one of their closest friends and ultimately Hope's Mother and double barreling her last name to be Lupin-Black so she can be part of both her fathers.
A YEAR HAD PASSED, James and Lily had welcomed their son Harry not long after Hope was born and Marlene and Dorcas had been killed by Voldemort. One particular night it was about a week away from Halloween and Remus had been doing work for the order late one night he came home expecting his Husband and Daughter to be asleep he walked into their cottage and heard the distant noise of a queen song on the record player he hung up his coat and walked towards the living room.
He leaned against the wall with a smile on his face as he watched his husband who held their daughter to his chest and one of her tiny hands in his as he danced her around the living room in front of the lit fireplace singing the song that was playing under his breath to his daughter. Remus' smile grew he grabbed the camera from the table beside him and took a picture.
The flash made Sirius turn to face his Husband he chuckled under his breath and held his hand out for Remus to join in, Remus grabbed his husband's free hand and danced with him and their daughter the sound of Queen and Hopes giggles filled the room. All was well, they were happy. little did they know that this was one of the last happy memories they would have for a long time.
