The Sorting

IT WAS NIGHTTIME when they arrived at Hogsmeade Station a man's gruff voice was heard shouting "firs'-years firs'-years this way! come on now hurry up!" the trio followed the voice of the shouting man till they met the owner, "hullo Harry" the man greeted and smiled at the pair next to harry "hello Hagrid" Ron looked up at the half-giant "Woah"

"Right then, this way to the boats, come on follow me" yelled Hagrid to the first years and they all followed behind. they made their way to the boats and no one spoke much as they were all taking in the sights, the narrow path they were on opened up and everyone caught sight of the castle. it was perched on top of a huge mountain and was made up of turrets and huge windows that were all lit up, 

"Have you ever seen anything like it?" Hope asked Harry as she pulled on his arm "no, it's amazing" Harry replied not taking his eyes off the castle "No more'n that four to a boat" shouted Hagrid

Now sitting in the boat with Harry, Ron and a boy called Neville (who Hope assumed was the same Neville that lost his toad as it's not a very common name) everyone was utterly speechless on the ride just taking in the sights until the came to a small cove covered by ivy, the boats carried them right to under the castle where they all got off. 

"You there is this your toad?" questioned Hagrid to Neville who was standing beside Hope "TREVOR" Neville shouted and went to go collect his lost toad.

Once Trevor had been safely returned all the first years made their way up a passageway that took them straight to the huge front door of the castle, after Hagrid made sure everyone was there he knocked on the door which opened at once and a tall witch with black hair and green robes was waiting for them, Hope immediately recognised as professor McGonagall from her fathers' stories 

"The firs-years Professor McGonagall" said Hagrid "thank you Hagrid, I'll take it from here" she pulled the door wider and all the first years pilled into the entrance hall.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you house points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup" McGonagall explained to the first years, 

"the sorting will begin shortly in front of the rest of the school, I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while waiting" and with that, she left for the great hall.

A boy with platinum blonde hair spoke up "It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts" everyone around started whispering and Hope immediately recognised her cousin's voice and rolled her eyes. 

"This is Crabbe and Goyle And I'm Malfoy...Draco Malfoy" Draco said like he was in a cheesy film, this made Ron snicker "Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair, and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley" Draco said with disgust evident on his face Hope turned around to face him "Shut up Draco honestly" Hope scoffed while rolling her eyes "no one asked you to speak blood-traitor" Draco sneered at Hope "I rather be a blood-traitor than a blood supremacist like you" said hope with a sarcastic smile, Dracos face flushed with anger and he turned back to look at harry,
