NIGHTTIME FELL UPON the castle grounds, and the quartet had decided to visit Hagrid after dinner to tell him about Snape stealing the Stone. They knocked at Hagrids door and he answered wearing an apron and oven mitts,
"Hagrid" Harry said hoping to be let in
"Oh, hello Sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today" he said quickly before trying to shut the door on the four of them
"we know about the Philosopher's Stone" all four of them said quickly.
he shut the door but an oh, was heard from behind the closed door, Hagrid opened it again and they piled in "We think Snape's trying to steal it" Harry explained to them as they entered Hagrid's hut taking off their cloaks
"Snape?" Hagrid questioned as they sat down, Hope sitting next to Hermione in the big armchair
"Blimey, Harry, you're not still on about him, are you?" Hagrid questioned
"Hagrid, we know he's after the Stone, We just don't know why" Harry said trying to convince the giant
"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone! He's not about to steal it" Hagrid insisted
"What?" Harry questioned back sharing a confused look with an equally confused Hope across the room,
"you heard Right. Come on now, I'm a bit preoccupied today" Hagrid said and tried to usher the four out of his house, but Harry being Harry he wasn't giving up "Wait a minute" He said as Fang, Hagrid's dog started to sniff and lick Ron making Hope laugh under her breathe.
"One of the teachers?" Harry questioned,
"of course!" Hermione shouted like it was obvious "There are other things defending the Stone, aren't there spells? enchantments?" She questioned
"More things than a three-headed dog?" Hope said before turning to Hagrid "didn't feel the need to stop after the dog?" Making Hagrid chuckle under his breath
"That's right, Waste of bloody time if you ask me" He said "Ain't no one gonna get past Fluffy" He said chuckling softly "not a soul knows how. Except for me and Dumbledore" Hagrid said before realising what he said "I shouldn't have told you that, I shouldn't have told you that" he muttered before turning to the fireplace
"10 gallons on a really big bone" Hope whispered to Hermione before whatever was in Hagrids pot began to rattle, Hagrid picked it up and placed it on the table and Ron, Hope, Harry and Hermione stood up to see what It was.
"Hagrid, what exactly is that?" Harry questioned, Hagrid looked as if he didn't know what to say and began to stumble over his words before Ron interrupted "I know what that is!" he shouted looking up from the egg on the table "but Hagrid, how did you get one?" He asked
"I won it Off a stranger, I met down at a pub" Hagrid stated rather proudly
"Seemed quite glad to be rid of it, as a matter of fact"
The egg started to shake on the table and burst open sending pieces of shell everywhere, making everyone duck, slowly getting back up to see what came out of the egg, a baby dragon is sitting on the table looking around curiously at everyone,
