AN: there is a lot of backstory

Eddie about passed out as he got dressed for work. He was still exhausted despite the few hours of sleep he had gotten, it took him a while to actually sleep, and he knew this probably wasn't healthy.

He had been working double shifts for nearly two weeks now, using the money for savings but also a surprise for Steve. The surprise wouldn't be for a while but it cost a lot, he just hoped it would be fun.

But extra shifts helped him, and his boss and coworker out. They needed someone at the store so it wouldn't be closed and loose business. Eddie wasn't in school anymore so he had more free time. It didn't have that many negative effects. Except him being tired and Steve giving him weird looks.

"Eddie? You look like shit."

"I am so hurt." Eddie feigned outrage, but the dramatics was interrupted by a yawn.

"Edward Munson you look exhausted." Steve placed his hand on his cheek. "Are you sure you want to go to work today?"

"Yes, honestly I can't call in. No one else will even be there for a while. I promise I'm fine." Other than being tired he did feel fine, he didn't have a nightmare all night which was a win for him. "I'm just a little tired from what we did last night." He smirked at Steve.

Steve blushed a bit and smiled back. Eddie's chest aches with something he was refusing to acknowledge, but he felt warm. He loved that smile.

Eddie pulled him in for a kiss, a slow and sweet one. He loved rough kisses but there was something so intimate about a slow kiss. Like the world around them was gone and it was just them taking their time.

The kissed until they had to get dressed and head for work, something they both dreaded. But somehow Eddie convinced Steve to let him drive them both to work so they could go straight to the fun activity Eddie planned for them.

Eddie managed to not fall asleep at work, but he did space out a lot which he realized wasn't the best situation.

But he managed to survive on some coffee from the break room,  and he somehow made it until twelve.

Four more hours and then he was free to go on a date with Steve. He couldn't wait to see Steve's face when he realized what they were doing, it wasn't major, that would come later. Much later.

The shop had customers come and go, some bought electronics or asked for advice on how to fix them. Since he started working there he learned a few things and he was able to help most of the customers.

He ate a sandwich at the counter since he couldn't close the shop. He felt slightly better after he ate, gave him slightly more energy.

The ringing of the bell above the door made him jump, he wasn't expecting it and he said "Jesus Christ."

Marge raised an eye brow at him as her and Sheila walked in.
