** JACK **
NATE SPENT ALMOST ALL OF THE CAR RIDE TO THE city flat on his phone. He didn't look like he was having much fun, though, so I assumed he was busy with work and let him be. The roads were rather clear, providing a smooth ride that I completed in a bit shorter than an hour.
We were already safe and sound inside the flat when he pocketed his phone at last, after I had to be his eyes to get him across the road.
'Right,' he said, mixing tiredness and excitement in his voice, 'The social agency already knows about the more permanent change of address and they will pay a visit very soon. My agenda is clear for the next month and I already redirected all post both for you and me to your parent's house, since we ... shit.'
'What?' He scared me. 'What happened?'
'Jack, I'm so sorry. I only realised it now. I didn't ask you. I should have. Your father was with his management mode on, giving orders left right and centre. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.'
He tried to look at me at first, but his anxiety got the best of him and now he seemed unable to move his glance away from the floor.
'Munchkin? Nate? Nate, look at me.'
He still didn't budge.
See, when a man who's more than a head shorter than you decides he won't look up, it gets particularly hard to look him in the eyes. I can't crouch, that will make me look like I'm talking to a child. I go down the silly route instead. I stand as tall as I can right in front of him and tilt my head sideways so far that I'm actually looking at him upside-down.
'Spider kiss,' I say and I get an involuntary snort of laughter from him. He doesn't kiss me, though. 'Come on, it's starting to hurt. I'm not eighteen anymore.'
Nate finally gave my lips a light peck and I took the opportunity to adjust myself and bring him to my arms. Trying to be gentle as possible, I held his chin with my hand and forced him to look up at me.
'All my life, I always bragged that there were no secrets between us and I was making a huge fool of myself without knowing it because you were keeping the biggest secret of all from me.' I kiss him so he knows this is not me telling him off, that I have a bigger plan in mind, 'please, Nate, please trust me more. I thought I had earned your trust a long time ago, and it kills me a bit inside knowing that that's not the case.'
'Jack,' Nate said, trying to convey with his stare more than his words would allow him to, 'I trust you with my life. And I give you my word, that was the only personal thing I kept secret from you.'
I was getting really good at this 'get people to talk' thing. I'll be so ready for Alice when she's old enough!
'Nate,' I called, running one hand through his hair and allowing the other to go down to his butt. 'I have nothing to hide from you. For fuck's sake, you know what my ass tastes like, how can anything be more secretive and intimate than that?'
'Is that what you're trying to do?' He asked with a teasing voice, 'getting a taste of mine?'
'This is our first time in this flat as a couple. You know there's no way I'll let you leave before I take you to bed, right?' I was already unbuttoning his trousers and reaching for him. 'Do you want to go to bed with me, Nate?'
'I do, yeah.'
'Do you want me to know what all of you tastes like?'
'I really do.'
I started working my hands on him right there in the middle of the living room and he started losing his composure in my arms. I go on until he's starting to lose control of himself, then I quickly take my hands off him.
