Mason's POV:-

Home. Thats what it used to be. It was an old dusty, smelly cabin that I was absolutely obsessed with before she came along, I suppose. Thats what my friends said. Mom also had a similar notion about it but never said it out loud like my friends. She knew this was all I had left. Grandpa Jack wanted me to move on and he offered Freya to live in there. I was absolutely furious back then. It now seems so long ago and its only been four months or so.

"Mason is very touchy about that dusty old cabin. I wonder why?" Thats what they all said.

I don't even remember spending much time here but it was a memory and became just a wooden empty box that had been something long before. Now it was a home that received love and care as much as she could provide.

The paint was chipped in most places, wet wood smell was something you could never escape, but she still tried with that scent diffuser she called a wallflower. The floor board was broken on some places where she had placed rugs over them and patched the ones that would be inescapable and dangerous while living in there. The wooden box was receiving unconditional love and it showed. It looked like a home. The little home mom and dad built.

There were blankets and coveralls everywhere. Now that I looked closer it was because the heating system was almost dead. She has to run the chimney and keep them going at all times. I'll see what I can do about the system.

The door opened finally after the tormenting time it was closed for. I stood up as Julian walked out.

"How is she?" I asked him. After realising Riley liked her she went into complete overdrive over the fact that her friend almost died because of the heart break.

She had this wild look in her eyes that scared me as soon as she finished telling me everything. It was as if she was losing everything slowly and couldn't do anything. I saw her spiralling and caught her in time as she passed out in front of me.

"She's fine. Sleeping for now but here's a question. You guys were having a get-together today where she was going to announce her pregnancy. I'm guessing it didn't go well?" He sat down on the couch adjusting the mandala print cushions distastefully.

He has always been a minimalist. Does not like excessive clutter or things packed closely. Everytime I am in his apartment its as if a psychopath prison has opened its gates. He hates really colourful things.

"She was fine we all had fun but then before they all left Riley told her that he has been in love with her since high school." I sat beside him running a hand through my hair.

"You guys are in university at the moment, Mason and Freya has been here for around 4 months only. Highschool was ages ago." He spoke out of confusion.

I looked up at him wondering how he became a practicing specialist so young. "She knows him from back home Jul. From where she came."

"She has suffered an anxiety attack."

I opened the door to her room slightly and watched her sleep. She seemed so peaceful now. I realized I never wanted to see her like that again.

It was as if I was watching someone wailing after a dead loved one. I relayed to Julian whatever she had told me so far. He was the only one I could share this all with and I knew it would never come out again. Whatever she had told me became too much to keep to myself I wanted to say it out loud.

"She was confused with the idea of keeping the baby or dropping it and then she showed up to the hospital for 3 days straight, sat there all day and left without a word to anybody. I knew she wanted this baby so badly but she knows raising a baby is not easy especially when you are running and hiding yourself. Mason she has been through so much that her body is speaking of it now. I believe this is her first anxiety attack." He turned towards me looking really serious now and I knew it was something.
