"You get in life, what you have the courage to ask for"
-Oprah Winfrey
Freya's POV:-
A few moments and some thinking later I was in a swirl of constant mental breakdowns.
Riley was expectant and maybe even knowing of the truth about me.
Suddenly something touched my hand and I jerked rather harshly to bring everybody's attention to me.
"Freya?..." Mason's voice spoke.
"Yeah." I turned my attention to him finally losing all interest in downing the ice cream anymore.
"Are you going to tell them where we were?" His hand still strangely lingered on mine and I dared not to look in Riley's direction knowing fully well he was still set on knowing where I was.
After everything I was not going to throw my life in the gutter out here. I had to believe my own lies. Become someone else. Taking A deep breath I let it out.
"I went out of town to meet a friend had to drop off something as well. Remembered it very late so I had to hurry to catch the bus. Mason decided to come along because I was going alone."
"So you two weren't like......"
"Ella seriously, I didn't expect that from you." Mason narrowed his eyes on the group.
"What you both are really similarly weird, I thought weird was making a pact-"
"Of loooovvveeee." She was interrupted by Shawn.
This was just getting worse by the minute and Mason was watching my face drown in horror. "Shut it all of you. Counselor Jason sent me with her. I went because she was ill and I didn't want to be held responsible for anything later because that's all I've been having from Jack all week."
"Nobody told you to run after me. Jack's holding you responsible because you are a moron and for the hundredth time I told you I was fine being alone." I fired back trying to stop myself yet it came out.
"You ran all the way to college after you fell down because of me. You ran in a freezing weather and didn't stop till you were at the campus. I just wanted to help I thought something was wrong." He was very serious and everybody at the table had their jaws hitting the ground through the table.
"Yeah and now your barbie from hell is after me. I should've stayed back." Turning toward Luke I spat. "Anywhere I see you sleeping again. Its a bucket of cold water. I was having more fun sleeping."
"What did I do?" he had a spoon in his mouth.
"She's not my barbie!" Mason said the same time.
"Oh man! that did not come out the way you heard it in your head Mase" Dawnson roared with laughter.
"You woke me up. I'm cranky now. And well I don't need to answer that, you made fun of yourself." I chuckled to which I could see Mason had relaxed. So now it was civil Mason after some fighting.
I picked my spoon again and dug in chucking all nonsense in the fuck it basket.
"Hey Doctor whats new with you?" Ella asked Dr Julian in a voice that could've been described as seductive. I saw Luke rolling his eyes.
"New is rare in my case Ella. You tell me how's the sister?" He shot back cleverly grinning at her.
"You know how she has always been Julian. Stupid and arrogant. Way to ruin the fun right?" It seemed as if I was missing out on something here.
