Time: 9:00 P.M. Location: The Tavern.
I walked in separate from the boys. Peter was the only one wearing a disguise because the Lost boys could pass as random islanders and my cover was pretty much already blown. We all spent about thirty minutes just getting the first few drinks and dancing.
I looked down at my clothes and wondered if I had made the right choice. I had worn a tight, mid thigh dress. It was all black with glitter on it. I even wore my highest red heels and did my hair into an updo. I looked around at the bar and realized that my choice in outfit was alright because the half mermaids were there and they were all dressed similar. I sat down by the bar and surveyed my surroundings. Marmaduke was making out with some girl in the back. Nibs and Tootles were talking at a table and eating some kind of fried meat. Curly and Slightly were grinding up against some half mermaids as the music blasted. Peter was sitting at the opposite side of the room, gambling with some men in some strange card game. I couldn't find Binky but then I realized it was because he was sitting two seats down from me trying to hit on a half mermaid. I decided I would ease drop on their conversation.
"What kind of a name is Binky?" The girl laughed jokingly.
"I don't know, what kind of a name is Mary?" He asked back.
"Mary is a normal name!" She exclaimed.
"Well, Mary, can I buy you a drink or maybe some food?" He asked. Real smooth Binky.
"If you do that I will love you forever." She said. I laughed silently at their exchange. I had to leave the bar to hide my laughter when Binky ordered two chocolate milks and cookies but the girl seemed happy enough about it.
I walked over to Nibs and Tootles and joined in with them.
"How's your night so far?" Nibs asked.
"Eh, I'm a little buzzed so it's alright." I laughed. "How about you?"
"Nothing much to report." He replied, taking a drink of his beer.
"Same." Tootles said sadly. He kept looking over at the dance floor. I followed his gaze to a girl who was doing some belly dancer moves.
"Uh-uh honey." I said to him.
"She looks really pretty." He smiled, not taking his eyes off of her.
"Dude, she's belly dancing." I laughed.
"Trust me, I know." He said.
"Perv." I replied.
"I'm a sixteen year old boy, what do you expect?" He chuckled.
"Well then go dance with her!" I shouted, kicking his chair a bit. "But no grinding! I don't need to see that!" I added as he got up to go talk to the girl.
"How about you Nibs? Anyone you got your eye on?" I asked wiggling my eyebrows.
"As if." He responded.
"Just because one didn't work out doesn't mean another won't either." I told him. He didn't speak for a moment.
"It's not that easy." He finally said.
"First cut is the deepest, right?" I asked looking over at Peter.
"Yes mam." Nibs said. "So are you going to ask him to dance or are you going to sit around bored all night?" He asked.
"What?" I asked.
"You know what I'm talking about." He said getting up then heading over to the bar where Binky and Mary were still sharing cookies.
I looked around and saw that Peter was finished with his game and was also looking around. He spotted me and walked over to me.
"Would you like to dance with me?" He asked as the song changed pace to a slow one.
