Time: Noon. Location: The woods outside of the enemy ship.
"Who the fuck is that?" Marmaduke asked for the millionth time as we planned an attack.
"We don't fucking know. You should go check, maybe they give out sweets from the back of the boat!" Mary said sarcastically. Marmaduke's face brightened.
"Do you really think so?" He questioned. Binky slapped the back of his head.
"Focus!" Binky yelled. He was shushed by the rest of us.
"New surveillance!" Peter whispered coming in from the trees.
"Whatcha got?" I asked him as he sat down beside me and proceeded to draw in the dirt.
"So here," He said as he began drawing the ship, "is the Captain's room. The others stay under the deck for the most part. I overheard them and they shouldn't be much of a threat. They're a bunch of rag tag guys who couldn't get a spot on Hook's crew. Nothing too big. I also know that Libby is in the Captain's room. But that's it. My plan is to place our boys here, here and here. Anna, we'll need your climbing skills to set up traps here for if they try to escape. Kathleen, I need you to stay here in case of our retreat. Mary, I need you to be our distraction. If you can just show off your mermaidness over there by the rocks that would be fantastic. We go when most of the crew is distracted by Mary. Camo, Nibs and I will burst into the Captain's room and rescue Libby. Then, we all cause chaos and sink the boat." He finished with a smirk.
We all situated ourselves in our positions. We had to wait a while before the men on the ship noticed Mary and when they did, they all filed out to the top deck to yell and get her attention. Peter gave us the signal and the lost boys started creeping onto the ship and cutting ropes. Nibs, Peter and I all burst into the Captain's room. Before I could even survey the room, Nibs had some man in a headlock on the ground.
"Scream and I'll snap your neck." Nibs said darkly to him.
"Nibs!" Libby said with relief. I looked around the room quickly. It was very dark with only a few candles. Libby was sitting on the floor, curled up but looking straight at us. The man who Nibs had pinned was in his mid to late twenties and was very physically fit. It didn't take him long to flip Nibs over and pin him.
"Aw fuck." Nibs said as he struggled to get the guy off of him.
"Listen here you little shit." The guy said. "Never threaten me."
Nibs got his arm free and punch the guy in the face. They continued on struggling but Peter intervened. Libby just covered her face in her hands and stayed where she was. I ran over to her to try to get her out of the room but she refused. Peter and Nibs were fighting off the other guy and he was fighting back with as much force. Finally Peter and Nibs pinned him against the ground and forced him to give some answers.
"Who the hell are you and why the fuck did you take Libby?" Nibs demanded.
"Captain Nathaniel, you asshole. And second, I thought we could use some women on the ship and after my crew had a little talk with her she was more than willing to join." Nathaniel answered.
"Is that true Libby?" Peter asked softly. She shook her head yes.
"What did you do to her?" Nibs asked, tightening his hold on Nathaniel.
"Why don't you ask her?" Nathaniel scoffed.
"Did he hurt you?" Nibs asked Libby. She shook her head no but didn't look him in the eyes.
"Did you?" He asked Nathaniel.
"Of course not." He said. The boys continued bombarding him with questions and found out that the crew was a bunch of rag tag Hook crew rejects or exes that decided to make their own ship.
I walked over to Libby and sat by her.
"How'd he really get you to come here?" I asked her.
"He just asked so I came here. He'll take care of me." She replied.
"I know that's not how you really came here. What did those men say to you that made you come?" I asked. She looked at me but didn't say anything.
"Nibs never meant to hurt you." I told her. "He would never hurt you on purpose."
"But he still hurt me. And Nate will take care of me and I have an attraction to him." She said.
"Yes but you don't love him like you love Nibs." I said. She hugged her knees to her chest and looked over towards the guys.
I did have to hand it to Nathaniel; he was pretty hot and had a great body. It helped that he was shirtless. Maybe it's because I was biased but Libby and Nibs still made a cuter couple. Peter and Nibs let Nathaniel up and he dusted himself off.
"Now, if you don't mind it, I would appreciate if you left." Nathaniel said. "You seem to be disturbing things."
We heard another blast from outside and Nathaniel cursed under his breath. He stood up and opened the door to the chaos outside. The Lost Boys were chasing crew members around and Anna was dropping messy bombs from the sails.
"Alright boys! Our work here is done." Peter yelled. The boys and Anna immediately took off towards the trees.
"You coming?" I asked Libby.
"No." She said attempting to smile. "I'm staying with Nate."
I took a quick look over at Nibs. He was absolutely crushed. Peter led the way out and I followed him. Nibs turned to Libby and told her he loved her. She didn't acknowledge his presence.
Nibs took off flying the other direction that we were going. I started to follow him but Peter stopped me.
"He needs some time alone." Peter said. I reluctantly followed Peter.
"You think he's going to be alright?" I asked Peter.
"It will all work out in the end." Peter replied.
"How do you know?" I asked.
"This is Neverland." He smiled at me.
