Libby’s P.O.V. Time: two weeks later.
I was never prepared for this. I want my mommy. I’m not ready to be one! How the hell am I supposed to tell Nibs? Oh shit…is that onions I smell?
I ran to the outside of the cave and emptied the contents of my stomach. Tears stung my eyes. I hated throwing up. After I was sure I was finished I walked back inside. Sure enough, Binky had a turkey and onion sandwich.
“I hate you.” I seethed at him as I passed.
“Love you too sexy.” He winked.
“No more onions!” I told him.
“I don’t smell that bad!” He protested. I closed my nose and walked towards the back rooms to wash my face and clean my brush my teeth. I looked at myself in the reflecting water. You could barely tell that I had been crying. I actually looked good. Is this what they say when you’re ‘glowing’? Screw this; I needed to get this over with. I walked back to our room and closed the door. Nibs was still asleep so I got on the bed and crawled over to him.
“You’re up early.” He said when he woke up.
“Yeah.” I said. He looked at me with confusion.
“You’re been weird lately.” He said as he moved some hair out of my face. “What’s wrong?”
“This isn’t easy to say.” I started. He sat up immediately.
“What is it?” He asked.
“I think…” I tried to say but couldn’t finish.
“Think what?” He asked anxiously.
“I might be pregnant possibly.” I finished. He stared blankly at me for a few seconds but it seemed like hours. His hand went to the bottom of my shirt and he pulled it up a bit as if that would show if I was.
“How sure are you?” He asked.
“About 90 percent sure.” I admitted. His blue eyes met mine and he smiled.
“I’m going to be a dad?” He asked.
“If I am then yes.” I said. He looked like a kid on Christmas.
“Oh my God. I have to learn how to do this. Aren’t there some books on parenting? I never thought it would be like this. Wait hold on!” He scuffled off of the bed as he rambled on. He ran over to his dresser and dug around. “I was waiting but you know three years on earth is a long time…I know it’s different here but…”
Nibs walked over and stood me up. He would just not stop smiling.
“Elizabeth Charlotte Weatherby, I have loved you since the moment I met you.” He said then got down on one knee.
“Oh my God, Nibs.” Was all I could say. “What are y-”
“Let me finish! I’ve been working on this!” He laughed and I just nodded in shock. “I never stopped loving you and there is no way I ever could. There is nothing I want more than to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you be my partner in crime? And also my wife?” He asked.
I admit, I was crying but for happiness.
“Did you even have to ask?” I laughed.
